8649 Nitro Menace
Kronos replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I used the new style differential. I had to modify the back pretty good to make everything work. I modded mine after it was built. I might rebuild it and mod it as I go. I think that would be easier. -

Do you have a Brick shelf account yet? It's easy to set up, then you could deeplink pics from there. We are eagerly awaiting BIGGER PICTURES! -

Black bushings are hard to get. Try looking at European sellers. I'm almost out and I don't think Crowkillers has many left either. That's how rare they are. -

As of yesterday they were pretty easy to find on BL. Maybe these will become scarce too. I haven't ordered my chrome wheels yet. Soon.... -

I can't take the credit. Paul mentioned these as an alternative earlier in this thread. I just took his advice. I wanted to post the pic so people could "see" the part on the car. Thanks though. -Mike -

This is the black Vampire GT using 19L ribbed axles. These are a suitable substitution for the RARE, imposible to find, worth their weight in gold, regular 19L axles. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/camaro365/VampireGT/100_3150a.jpg -

Crowkiller's latest creation. I'm buildeing several of them(different colors) for my kids. Hopefully they will leave my models alone now. Right. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/camaro365/ChoppedHotrod/100_3147a.jpg -

Thanks Tim. How about chrome rims? I like the red EL idea. -

Finished! Had to use red 19L's. I don't have any black...yet. Only the one pic so far. I'll have more posted later, plus the red Vampire, Crow's Supercar Deluxe 2, and a few others. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/camaro365/VampireGT/100_3137a.jpg -Mike -

What's really strange is that the #13 & #14 have been available since early Feb., but the #5 & #6 have just recently become available.... -

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! To whom it may concern... The new black panels that are needed for the Black version of the Vampire GT are officially available through LEGO direct. I just ordered six pair of each. Part #'s - 4558731, 4558774, 4558740, 4558775. These are the black version of panels numbered 5, 6, 13, & 14. Finally we can all build the "correct" version of this awesome MOC! Happy building! -
@ Sheepo. I don't know how to thank you for this invaluable system. I've been looking at, and building, all the supercar MOC's I could find from the amazing designers online. I wanted to build my own supercar for over a year now, but, as mentioned earlier, didn't know where to start. I was also very intimidated by the MOCs of Crowkillers, Jovel, Eric Leppen, and of course, yours, to name a few. This is just the push (help) I needed to start up. Thank you. @ Blakbird. Eric, you continue to amaze with your work. Thanks. @ All. Thank you to all the designer's, MOCer's, and technician's for your hard work and generosity. I hope one day I can contribute also. -Mike

Wow, man. That's a little harsh. Unless you are joking this could easily be taken the wrong way. I I've noticed a negative tone from some members on several occations now. It's not just a language barrier thing either. I come to this site/forum to stay up to date on news/info, not be treated badly. While this hasn't happened to me personally, it has happened, and is still troubling. I think the tone of this site should be kept lite, and any reprimands, so to speak, should be made through PM. -Mike

8297 alternate instructions...
Kronos replied to Kronos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
WOW! Thanks to everyone for the responses. I appreciate it greatly. I was watching the Super Bowl so I didn't get back to this until late. Now it's time for bed! (work-3am) I think the "pimped" version is in my futer. I'll keep you posted. -
Does any one have the alternate instructions for the 8297? I just got this set and want the B model instructions. Also, has anyone made this model 4WD? If so, I'd be interested to see how they did it. I have a few ideas, but would like to see how other's have done it. I don't plan to motorize it, I just want to take out the adjustable suspension and made it true 4WD. Thanks - Mike

I called Lego direct earlier last week and the new parts will be available Jan. 31st. I'll be placing an order that day for sure. -

Yeah, I have it finished. The Supercar Deluxe 2, also. They are awesome to see finished, in front of you. These are truely great models. I can't imagine what Paul has in store for us this year... I'll have pics up on BS tomorrow.
