  1. Hope y’all can forgive the background. I’m still pretty new to mocs and this is the biggest diorama I’ve built so far, pretty happy with how it turned out.2 Introducing Boil’s Lament! I always like to imagine that Clone Trooper Boil participated in the battle of Utapau (which he probably did but we’ll probably never know for sure). I liked to imagine that had been there, somehow he would have resisted order 66, or at the very least questioned whether the Jedi really betrayed them. This diorama depicts part of the aftermath of Utapau. After believing General Kenobi has been eliminated, Boil’s team is sent into the depths to confirm the Jedi master’s demise. While his team secures the area, Boil lowers down into the water to investigate, finding only the remains of poor Boga, and Obi-Wan’s cloak. Holding the hood in his hands, he only asks himself, why? Why would their stalwart general betray them? One trooper secures the repelling equipment so that Boil can be safely lowered (and raised back up). Another trooper stands at attention in case any dangers attack the survey team. This trooper scans the surroundings, ensuring no surprises disrupt the survey team. 0
  2. Yoda's starfighter looks fine, but not for me. I actually think Yavin looks really good for the piece count, I really thought it would look rough with everything that was rumoured to be included. Still a pass over everything else we're getting this year. They are really pushing it with the clone sets, that swap speeder is way too small for that price, and doesn't even have any battle droids or something to explain why its more than the 501st set from January.
  3. This is a really incredible design! The shaping and scale are excellent, and I love that you added a working cockpit ramp. It's super cool!
  4. Thank you for the kind words everyone! I'll have to look into that next time, thanks for the suggestion!
  5. Here is my entry for the Imperial Ship Category. This is my first time entering a contest on Eurobricks so please let me know if there are any issues. This is my ship, the Tie Viper, It's an underwater Tie Fighter variant! [M4-23 - Imperial Ship] - Tie Viper - Watto's Junkyard - Eurobricks Forums
  6. Introducing the Tie Viper! The Tie Viper is meant to be an underwater variety of the iconic Imperial starship, for when the empire has nefarious things to do underneath the depths.... I was thinking about what type of ship I wanted to make for this context, and then during the night, I had a dream about an underwater imperial vehicle. I don’t remember what it looked like in the dream, but I thought it was a neat concept, an underwater vehicle, and kept that as the central concept of the idea. I wanted it to look familiar, keeping a similar shape, but in a way that’s instantly discernible. Which resulted in the wings being so close to the cockpit. I pictured it as a stealth vehicle, kinda lurking around in the dark depths, waiting to attack unsuspecting rebels which is why I went for a darker color scheme compared to other imperial fighters. The cockpit is much larger and deeper compared to most Tie fighters. There is room for both a pilot at the front and a gunner at the back. It’s got a little extra room in the middle potentially for troops to sit and wait. Since the Imperials don’t have a huge underwater fleet, I imagined it would need to be a multipurpose vehicle. The model was created in stud.io, and exported to Sketchfab (where I took screenshots) since I didn’t have all the pieces I would need to build it on hand. The ship is entirely black, but the lighting in Sketchfab makes it look a little bluer than it’s supposed to. (I hope that’s alright, this is my first time exporting a model as a 3D file)
  7. It just occurred to me, since all the mechs so far are comic/video game based (and presumably will continue to be with Morbius and ghost rider), this means that the Rocket mech will have to come with a unquiet comic based Rocket and will be our first non might micros comic based GotG figure! Thanos would also presumably be a new figure since the second iron man mech we got was also unique. Very exciting wave, but kinda funny we know more about it than the big marvel d2c that's coming out first.
  8. Brickclicker uploaded a video with info on the 2023 marvel sets Seems like 2023 is Morbin' Time.....
  9. I got it, it has to be.....UCS Big Wheel!
  10. jj[psleaks also said they thought the set would sell better as a DC set as opposed to a marvel set. Now I'm wondering if it's a UCS Spider-Mobile or something. I don't think we've heard anything that says it has to be movie based...
  11. With all the hints, my theory kinda picturing maybe some sort of endgame final battle diorama built out of Jazz musician style figures/legoland style figures. At that price you could get 12-15 figures of that style with a sizable base maybe. The one who asked why it would be disappointing asked if it was either cause it was something unique or a vehicle. And with no quinjet or helicarrier, I struggle to see a vehicle that would be iconic enough for that price point. (Maybe the Milano, but I doubt people would find a ucs style Milano disappointing) so I feel like its gotta be something unique on more of the sculpture front. But who knows, maybe it is the dragon flyer? The thing that really thows me off is the iron man missing the leg, to me that sounds like there is something "missing" from the set. But it's hard to imagine what that might be.
  12. Not going to lie, but I thought it would end up being more than just bowser. (kinda like how peach's castle was just a part of the question block) That being said, he looks super awesome with alot of cool features. Definitely very happy with how this turned out! I presume this set will also feature a secret like the last 2 did, guess we'll have to wait and see.
  13. Whelp First pictures of commander cody have appeared, he's actually real. I think this means we have pictures of all the summer star wars minifigures except for the clone gunner.
  14. Very blurry picture of the Obi Wan vs Darth Vader set. I both kinda hate it and love it at the same time. It's kinda bland, but there's a strange charm to it's flatness, I kinda like how it's just a piece of ground, feels like something we don't usually get, I have very mixed feelings. I was considering passing, but that NED-B figure looks like something I'm going to need to get.
  15. BD-1 looks pretty nice, and I'm glad to see that the BD-1 Minifigure has the red print, in the blurry image it almost looked like it didn't. Probably a pass for me though since I mostly go for minifigure scale sets. Omega looks great! I wasn't quite expecting that hair piece, but I think it works! The arm bring is great! I love the Andor set! The speeder is pretty neat, but I really love the ship, it's pretty bulky but I quite like it. It looks like a great troop transport, only shame that it doesn't come with a lot of troops to put in it. Kinda hard to make a judgement on the figures. Cassian looks great, and they did a great job capturing Stellan Skarsgard, but it's hard to tell how much I want those figures without knowing much about the characters from the show.
  16. I pre ordered both sets. 3 inquisitors in one go is too good to pass on, and I've been waiting years to get a Kaminoan. Looking at the 3d views, the Grand Inquisitor and Fifth brother both have clips for their lightsabers on the back of their new armor pieces, Taun We has back printing on her dress piece (Not sure if we've even had a minifig with that before, but even if it isn't new it's still very nice) and R4 does not have back printing. Guess that will make the back printing R2s from the dioramas extra special.
  17. Wow these look Great The build looks alright to me, but that Obi Wan looks great, and Taun We looks awesome! The head mold looks pretty undetailed, so It make me hope that further Kaminoans may also be in our future. Ill be very curious if R4 has backprinting and that's the new standard for Astromechs or not. The picture of the Obi Wan figure, that I guess is from the Obi Wan vs Darth Vader set since he doesn't have the blue robes. That hairpiece looks awesome! The Inquisitor ship, looks so good. The build itself looks great, will be very curious to see the interior. Grand Inquisitor and 5th brother look fantastic! Whether those molds are new or not, they look great! Obi wan is too blurry to have an opinion on and it looks to me like Reva's hairpiece is the Orc/Valkyrie hair which would be a bit disappointing, a new piece would be nice, but even so, I feel like they already have pieces that look a lot closer. Perhaps this is a based on concept art situation. Overall though, I'm very excited by these!
  18. Thank you for the advice! I will be looking into those UV filters
  19. Hello! I'll preface my specific questions with a bit of context to understand what I'm asking about. I've been collecting Lego my whole life, but only started to make an effort to keep my sets fully together/displayed around 2013-ish. And since then I mostly just display all my sets in my room which also doubles as my office. A couple years ago I was starting to run low on display space, so I'd began dismantling some older sets, to make way for new ones. (though any D2C sized sets, plus a couple things I really liked has stayed assembled) At the moment, I have very few sets displayed that released prior to 2017. Over my collecting history, I have a few sets that have received sun damage, but they've only been sets that have been displayed in rooms other than my main office/collection room. My main lego room does have a prominent window that for years has just been open, but more recently I've hung up a curtain to block it, either when I'm not there or when it gets really sunny. So far though, I haven't identified or confirmed that any Lego I've displayed in my office/room has received any sun damage. (Neither sets in indirect light or what I think is direct light at certain points in the day. Lately within the past 2 weeks, I've gotten really paranoid about sun damage, and 2 days ago I noticed what I'm concerned is the beginning of some slight sun damage on a 2018 X-wing (Though it's so slight, I'm not 100% sure it isn't dirt residue, as I've been falling behind a bit when it comes to lego dusting). I don't really have another room to display my collection and I'd ideally not have to board up the window since I have to spend a lot of my day in the room and completely avoiding sunlight probably isn't great for my health. I've done a fair bit of research on sun damage, but I haven't been able to find a lot on the specific questions I've had, so I'm hoping maybe some on here with more experience may have some insight. (I'll note that I'm well aware that there's a method of reversing sun damage which is great, but it would be my preference to avoid any damage as much as possible and save that for a last resort. I know that direct sunlight is definitely a problem, but to what extent is indirect sunlight? Is it the kind a thing were only direct is a problem or indirect is also an issue but it just occurs slower? (Cause if indirect is fine, it just means I need to move around some shelves. Also does anybody know if there's an average estimate to how long it takes for sun damage discoloration to occur? Cause so far I'm not sure if nothing has changed color because of where it's displayed or if it just hasn't been there long enough. (I think the oldest set I have displayed is The Ghost from 2014, which appears to be fine) I'd really appreciate any feedback as I'm at a bit of a impasse as what to do. So far there don't seem to be any major problems, but I can't help myself from being stressed out about it.
  20. Promobricks originally said the Mario D2C would be either a June or August release, so if it's being revealed at lego con (Which seems more likely then them announcing say 2023 sets there), So I wonder what that means for the release date? the turn around for D2Cs are pretty quick, so if it was revealed then and it was coming late june that could work. But also with the rest of the wave coming in august that could also be the case. I guess we'll have to see.
  21. Promobricks dropped a little bit of new info on star wars sets on their story today. Specifically of note, Hunter is the same as in the 2021 set (meaning the old phase 2 helmet and not a unique mold or the new helmet for Cody), Fennic is also the same as the light cruiser (meaning the helmet not the hair) They say the inquisitors might have new armor molds, which I guess might mean the old ones aren't coming back. Cody's visor piece is also the same as the 2008 one. Alot of this stuff isn't too surprising, but it's nice to have confirmation. Interesting we could see both the new and old clone helmet mold release during the same wave.
  22. You did a fantastic job with the shaping! Awesome work!
  23. He looks SO GOOD. There's something kinda blocky and silly in how they made him look that I really like, he feels very wholesome. The accessories are also pretty funny, and the box art if great. But I feel really bad for Brothers Brick, I'm sure it was an honest mistake posting it early, I hope lego is understanding of that.
  24. Promobricks revealed new details of Optimus, also saying he should be revealed soon and mostly likely will be released June 1st. They say he's G1 for sure, comes with Ion Blaser, Energon Axe, as well as the Allspark and a Red Jetpack on top of the previously mentioned UCS info style plate. He can be transformed without disassembling and apparently doesn't have movable knee joints. It all sounds pretty cool to me, I personally wouldn't be shocked if first pictures leak within the next week or so.
  25. This wave sounds fantastic! Lot of really cool stuff! The Cad Bane's Justifier minifigure roster is a tiny bit disappointing to only 4 minifigs and presumably 1 molded figure for Todo, but the actual roster itself sounds awesome! Finally Omega! It does make me wonder, will hunter use the new clone helmet mode that cody introduces, the old one, or will he possible have a new mold? (article doesn't mention so I guess we'll have to see) Obi-Wan's Jedi starfighter was an easy pass for me, but seeing as it's the only set with a Kamanoan, I may just have to get it. Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader, I would be disappointed if the other set didn't have the minifigure roster it does. Build sounds cool, unique Obi-wan is nice, will have to see the show to know if those other two characters are must gets or not, but it's nice their included, and Vader is kinda necessary. The Scythe coming with 3 inquisitors is perfect! Sounds like the 5th brother brings back his armor piece, but the worlding of the article is a bit confusing in regards to the grand inquisitors armor, but given the prominent mention of armor piece, it sounds like it's back for him too. a unique Obi-wan is just icing on the cake at this point. The AT-TE, Cody is finally here, which is so exciting! Personally I would have preferred some sort of dual molded helmet for Cody, but making a piece with holes for the attachments is the better long term choice, so I think they made the right call. (phase 2 rex with rangefinder). 3 212ths is really nice, and the gunner is more than I could have asked for. I hope the build is cool!
