LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
HatBricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Seems that I was correct about the identity of the final anniversary figure. I don't mind getting QT since she has a pretty unique pattern and color. The choice of pink torso and legs looks a littles strange since they are multicolored in the show, but since lego doesn't print on astromech legs anyway I don't mind they gave us some in a new color as opposed to white ones we've had many times. It's a shame there no R2-KT though, especially avoiding a potential charity connection with the set which would have been cool. -

No Enoch is a bummer, but the fact we are getting a single night trooper makes me feel like the possibility of a Battle pack (maybe akin to the 332nd with Vaughn), with enough (with a new helmet mold) could be possible. Despite it, I actually love the build, it's very striking, other figures look awesome too! The Desert Skiff is not what I expected. I like the beefier sarlac pit and the skiff looks awesome. Fig selection is solid, but Lando and Nien Nunb are the standouts for me. I have been waiting for a Lego Nien Nunb figure for like 20 years, I'm so excited its finally happening! -

C-3PO looks amazing! He was on my radar cause I thought he'd look with Artoo, but I'm impressed at actually how good he looks on his own. Ever since The Mighty Bowser in 2022, I've been much more interested in the more sculptural character builds lego does when they look nice. I do hope that the set might come with the same C-3PO minifig from the Landspeeder. I've already got one, but it's such a nice figure it would seem a shame not to include it in THE C-3PO set. Hard to tell from the blurry top of the box if it's a grey boot or just a blur, but I still have hope even if it's unlikely. -

That droid set is not for me I think. Gonna have to bricklink young leia for the collection. The thing that stands out to me is the pink droid in the set is QT-KT not R2-KT like it was rumored (QT-KT appeared in one arc of the clone wars where the astromech squad had to infiltrate a separatist base with Major Gascon). The two have similar names, and apparently the reason for that was that QT-KT was created as a standing for R2-KT so there wouldn't be two characters in the cast called R2 at the same time. Which I think kinda of raises the question, is the final anniversary figure R2-KT or is there a chance we're getting QT-KT? Since Lego's website hint "Oh so cute" makes more sense for QT. -

If that list of figures is indeed the final selection for X- Mansion (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, Rogue, Prof X, Gambit, Beast, Morph and Magneto) it's kinda both great and slightly disappointing, but overall good all at the same time? It's certainly more compelling if one doesn't own the X-Jet. We're basically trading Jean, Gambit and Morph for Sabertooth, Mystique and Emma Frost. Gambit's my favourite so his inclusion would be a dream come true, and Jean is long long overdue in a non-comic con setting and Morph is pretty awesome to get, I honestly didn't think they were likely. (But it would be awesome life we could get some kinda dualmolded legs them and Cyclops could make use of) But man it would be a bummer not to get Sabertooth. Guess we'll just have to see. I suppose with X-men 97 and all there's no reason we can't get further X-Men stuff down the line. -

I'ma just pop in here before the set reveals (which our hopefully soon), to put down my prediction that the Young Princess Leia creature set will be buildable Wicket the Ewok (like the Grogo and Yoda sets) -
I had a question about how people prefer to store their minifigures, I've been concerned a lot about torso cracking that I've had in some figures between 2013-2019 mostly, and am trying to take the best course of action to prevent or minimize it. In theory keeping minifigures disassembled, or the legs not fully attached reduces the amount of pressure on the torso and can help prevent cracks. But I wonder if you stored them that way, but frequently assembled and disassembled them when wanting to use them, would frequency or infrequent assembley more likely to increase cracks than just leaving them assembled would? I'm curious if anyone has experience with the subject?

I feel like Stan Lee would have been a better choice. But I was already pretty content with the minifigure roster, so this is just an added bonus. it's kinda a fun idea. Final thoughts might depend on how many figures in the tower have leg printing. -

Update on the Tremortusk, Brickclicker mentions it in a video saying that the image is probably fake. You never know for sure, but he has a very strong track record, so I'm inclined to believe him. -

The Venator looks perfect, I love it! Personally, I think it being the resolute is cool! Now the only question is to find a way to afford it... -

It's cool that the clone battle pack is a kinda like a remake of the original two battle packs. Not too sad to not have any star corps clones. With the macrobinoculars piece I feel like getting a set with Commander Bly i just a matter of time. -

They definitely used to be banned. I still have saved that old google doc that featured a list of allowed and band IPs. Something mad them change there mind. I recall a couple months ago the official Final Fantasy VII twitter account ran a contest that involved a MOC from seven. I think Horizon was always banned too, so maybe making that caused them to rethink things. -

The picture looks pretty good to me. There looks like a very blurry Aloy minifigure on the base. But people are pretty good at edits, and it's really convenient that the name of the set, the piece count etc, are all too blurry to read (since those could have been photoshopped from other sets. Also kinda of weird that not many accounts have posted it. I'm skeptical to avoid disappointment, but I hope it's legit cause it seems like a real cool set and I loved the last one! -

Assuming the X-Jet is X-Men 97-based, I really hope that it comes with Gambit and Rogue. But any new X-people would be great! -

For Marvel Modulars, I think it would be pretty neat if they tried some more experimental ideas too. Something like a Wakandan Embassy (even if it doesn't quite makes sense could be a very unique build) or Pym technologies building. -

I made my first Lego Ideas submission about a month ago, based on Star Fox. Lego has been dipping there toes into further Nintendo IP, but I feel like Ideas is the only way we'll see Star Fox come to fruition. LEGO IDEAS - Star Fox: Arwing -

My entry for the Nature is After You category: Reeksa Root Retrieval! This MOC is based on Season 1 Episode 18 of Star Wars the Clone Wars: Mystery of a Thousand Moons. In this scene, Anakin and Obi-Wan travel down a crevice on the planet Iego (with an i not a L) in order to find the cure for the Blue Shadow Virus: the Reeksa root. But upon finding the root, the Jedi find themselves attacked by the deadly Reeksa! (I guess the root is named after the monster/plant) I really liked the idea of depicting Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting off the Reeksa on the side of a wall, I really wanted to play with the verticality. In the episode, the Jedi retrieve the root from a crevice in the ground, and it was fun layering the plant pieces within the ground to try and recreate that. The majority of the build is the rock wall, I made sure to make more use of SNOT bricks this time around to give more variety to the rock face, but also to make sure that the plant work could be layered within. I didn’t have the best selection of parts on hand to create the Reeksa with it being very organic and bendy, but I’m decently happy with how it turned out, It was important to portray the arcing movement as if it’s on the attack. Took some inspiration from the sandman build from the daily bugle.

My submission for the Minifigure Habitat, The Karn Family Breakfast Bonanza! This diorama recreates the iconic scene from Andor where Syril and his mother Eedy Karn enjoy a carefree meal together with no judgment! (I used an app to remove the background in this photo) We can see a bird’s eye view of the breakfast room. I removed the chairs and table just to get a better view of the back wall (I’m pretty happy with the greeting) And here we have our custom minifigures! Everyone’s favourite Imperial sympathizer, Syril Karn in his casual outfit! It was a challenge to find a torso that was bland enough but still fit the futuristic aesthetic. Eedy Karn, 5-time winner of Mother of the Year! (an award she probably gave herself). Finding a face that matches her stern expression was important. And who could forget everyone’s favourite character, R0O-8A, the loveable cleaning droid who is totally a real Star Wars character and not something I made up to hit the limit of 3 minifigures. In seriousness though, I liked the idea of making a droid from scratch and the idea of a cleaning droid felt mundane enough to fit within this scene. R0O-8A has vacuum pads on the bottom to suck up any dirt as well as containment canisters on the back to store said dirt.

Thanks! When you put it like that, I totally see it, the majority of the pieces I used were from the early 2000s so that might be the reason Thank you! Thanks for the feedback, totally agree. Was a bit at the mercy of the pieces I have available for building at the moment, but I'll have to invest in more snot and rock pieces for the next one.
