  1. "Arx might be able to fly ahead and check it out, but if you need a telescope..." <I can try but it looks a bit far.>
  2. "This girl, I like her! Can we keep her, eh Guts? Can we?!" <Should probably be asking Haldor instead.>
  3. "Last I checked, ducks're quite good at floatin'. I think Nerwen's tryin' to be subtle about a similar approach--if it sinks or drowns, its a witch."
  4. "Light 'em on fire of course! If they burn, they're innocent and we made a wee little boo-boo!"
  5. Arx snorts <No need to repeat yourself, I've got a good grasp on your tongue. I've picked up on the fact that we aren't expected to see any fighting, and I'm a bit disappointed. Negotiating sounds so boring. You're with the Kingdoms, right? Sound like you'll be getting into much trouble?> "Very loud. Been awhile since I last brawled. What've you got against Guts? Never really met the man before."
  6. Arx's eyes lit up when he saw Benji, and he began tugging on Thormanil's ear again, directing him towards Benji. "Huh, seems Arx has taken a liking to you, Benji. What'd you say to him in the Hall, trying to steal away my new friend, hm? Hah! Good t'see you here, though." Arx sits up on Thormy's shoulder and addresses Benji. <At least I'll have someone I can actually talk to for this trip!>
  7. "Dyric, eh? Well this here's Arx and, dangit, get out here. You practically dragged me to the quest board, no hiding from the new team." Arx pokes his head out from behind Thormanil's hood. Thormanil sighs. "It's a start." "So, what can y'tell us about the various clan leaders? Anything to help us stay on their good sides?"
  8. Was already planning on limiting my knowledge (not that I'm an avid reader of quests I'm not on as it is).
  9. Made a trip to the marketplace, statistics thread entry is updated. "Haldor, what's the chance of seein' you here? Looks like we've got a solid team here.. Nice t'meet y'all. I'm Thormanil and this here's Arx!" Arx ducks around behind the hood of Thormanil's cloak as he begins to greet the party, only poking his head out a little when he gets to Haldor, a face Arx had at least previously seen.
  10. Still wandering the Marketplace, Thormanil and Arx arrive at Fabian's stall. Thormanil leans down and unstraps his sandals, setting them on the table with his scrolls. "Fabian, I need ya to work some magic on these shoes. Rumor has it you can enchant them with the spells contained on these scrolls..." He hands over 250 gold and his five scrolls (Blindness, Sleep, Confusion, Frailty, Weakening) Winged Sandals(Wearer is immune to bound, slowed, asleep, confused, fragile, weakened, and blinded effects). Gold remaining: 1533-250 = 1283.
  11. Actually managed to make my Elphaba purchase before she left this time around. Rather proud of myself
  12. Thormanil and Arx approach Elphaba's cart, ready to drop some major coin. While Thormanil is picking out some scrolls, Arx begins picking gems up between his jaws and carrying them over to Thormanil's pile of scrolls. When all was said and done, the two had racked up quite a tab: 800 gold from gems alone (Aquamarine, Emerald, Garnet, Opal, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, Amethyst) 250 gold from scrolls (Sleep, Blindness, Confusion, Frailty, Weakening) Totaling to 1050 gold, leaving the duo with (2583-1050) 1533 gold.
  13. No worries. I noticed while typing it up that his focus had quite wholly been shifted to Jess. Oh, and
  14. "190, hm? Yeh, I can swing that." He hands Haldor 190 gold in exchange for the trident. Arx scurries down Thormanil's arm and scales the length of the weapon, curling himself around the middle prong before returning to Thormy's shoulder, apparently satisfied. "I think the li'l guy likes it, too! Heh heh. Thanky, Haldor. Time to get this thing fit for battle." As Thormanil heads for the doors of the Hall, Arx begins tugging on his ear, trying to direct him towards the Quest Board. Eventually Thormanil gets the picture and checks the current listings. "You're a really eager li'l thing, aren't ya? Alright, let's see what we've got... Protection, Negotiation, and.. a carnival? Well, I think the first two are up our alley, at least. Haven't had any dealings with the Ji Pei either.. Let's try our luck at Quest 89." Arx lets out a dissatisfied growl. "Fine, fine. And Quest 88."
  15. I really should make a list of characters Thormy's had interactions with, and to what degree. I feel like he's met Haldor before but I just woke up and can't quite remember
  16. Thormanil wanders around the Hall, looking for Arx. Eventually he finds the little hatchling, squawking into Benji's ear. "Come on, Arx," he says, motioning for Arx to take his place on Thormanil's shoulder, "We've got some shopping to do." Before he makes it out of the bar, Thormanil notices a man selling some weapons. "Heh, quick detour li'l buddy." He approaches the man, laying his Wyvern's Tailblade on the table. "Looks like you've got a few more toys than you can handle! And here I am, needin' a new one. How about one of them pitchforks for this fine blade, hm?"
  17. <Not much to be said. Thormanil was brought down to Smar...somewhere, we met, and now we're here. You really think I'll have the chance soon? I need to get out there and do something, I'm itching to spread my wings! What do you have to do to get picked for adventures?>
  18. I'm a few days late... been busy. Good thing dragons have wings! Arx leaves his perch on Thormanil's shoulder and flies to Benji's side. <Benji, is it? Yes, he has given me the name Arx. I've taken rather fondly to it. I think he's said it means something like "Shield" in his tongue. I see myself as more of a sword, but it's a start: at least it involves combat! I can't wait to prove to him that I can hold my own. He seems to want to hide me behind his shield, like I'm some kind of runt of a hatchling! Can you believe that?>
  19. No Less ether cost, I guess? Or that.
  20. I don't think GIMP is any harder to pick up than Photoshop. Unless, of course, you're switching from PS to GIMP, because then you have a similar GUI but just different enough to throw you off. I've never tried Paint.NET but have heard good things.
  21. I may or may not have had a cracked copy way, way back when CS2 was the newest version. I gave up on morals long ago. But yeah, GIMP is freeware and worth looking into.
  22. Also, B&P, I recommend you pick up GIMP, it's free. I thought I'd heard rumors that one of the older Photoshop suites was made free recently, but I can't seem to find anything on a quick google search.
  23. @Flare, you should give me a few days to get back to Fairbanks (9th/10th'll be fine) so that I can actually pull up Arx's dice rolls. I'm pretty sure he was a bit on the showboaty-yet-introverted side, so I need to check that before I start trying to pull him into any RP sessions.
  24. "Tricks, huh? Iunno, Arx, what've you got up yer sleeve?" Arx curls around Thormy's shoulders, only peeking out from behind him to eye up Benji. It would seem his bravery was limited to private encounters. "Hah, li'l guy's scared. I'd be too, truthfully. Lotsa ruffians ten times yer size, and he can't even spit a flame yet!" Yet again, Arx lets loose a snort with indignation, though this time a small cloud puffs from his nostrils.
  25. I suggested something like this a ways back, probably in the EC discussion thread. Access to/ability to create the more/most powerful bombs would give them a unique market niche, as well as that added damage/effects.
