I hope I didn't sound like I was implying it was CMP's fault. I've actually really enjoyed it, meaningful RP and such.
-
I'll save most thoughts for post-quest, but I've got to agree, we're just getting sloppy now and I, at least, have exhausted my RP for the event, heh.

Thormanil influences Tarvalk evilly "Wait, I musta missed somethin'. The High Kingdoms still have some of your brethren enslaved? I guess I can't really argue against takin' the fight to 'em, then." Guess Tarvalk - Lawful Evil
-
I meant to suggest that Alexis simply not influence the General, that way the guess will get tested after the atmosphere shifts the mood. Sorry Masked, I should have been more clear on what to change your action to. For the sake of getting the round run, let's not change anymore actions except for this, to get Gor tested: Thormanil instead uses his second action to influence Gor in a good way.
-
Is Gor lawful or chaotic neutral right now? The chart and following text don't match up. Also, Masked, you're going to push Gor out of the spectrum again due to the atmosphere. Pie, hopefully you'll take a conditional action: Unless Alexis' action changes, Thormanil uses his second action to influence Gor in an evil way. Updated below.

Thormanil snaps back, and influences Tarvalk lawfully. "Surely you can't mean to charge through the kingdoms, though? You sounded sensible enough when I thought you planned to take and hold the bridge. I have to hand it to Karstaal, he's right about the war of attrition." Guess Tarvalk - True Neutral Guess Karstaal - Neutral Good.
-
Hey Scuba, you got that Beholder's Eye back from Grogmas, you could re-run that round if you think it'd be worth it. Keep everything the same but use my actions to keep Tarknal around.
-
Sorry guys, working from mobile for now. Internet seems to have entirely kicked it at the house.
-
Thormanil influences Tarvalk in an evil way, twice. Guess Tarvalk - Chaotic Evil
-
Not wanting to hold up the deliberations, Thormanil guesses: Karstaal - Lawful Neutral Tarvalk - Neutral Good
-
Thormanil slips over to Alexis' side. "I may be mistaken, doll, but aren't you about to sway Tarknal so lawfully that he walks outta the clan meet in an uppity fashion?"
-
Thormanil replies to Karstaal, expressing an appreciation for his lawful views, "I suppose you have a point. Even the greatest of armies can still lose a war of attrition. And to wish to be able to engage in war rather than pillagin', now that I can respect." He guesses True Neutral for Karstaal. And then, back to Tarvalk, "Not to say I don't have great respect for a strong battle sense, either. I can't see you 'n Karstaal agreein' here, but between you 'n me, I'm a fan of the show-of-strength approach. Lettin' em finish the bridge then makin' yer move, that's brilliant. They'll have just given your hordes a golden ticket into their lands. If you limit your conquest to the bridge, you might even be able to win Karstaal over to your plan. Worst case a true war breaks out, and in a better scenario you've got one hell of a bargaining chip on your side. And all this not for glory, but for the well being of your people." Thormanil gives Tarvalk a hearty pat on the back, commending his good intentions. He guesses Chaotic Good for Tarvalk. I'm only guessing for Karstaal to check it off the list... I think I know his actual alignment, but can't get there this turn, heh.
-
Quite an easy thing to have happen.
-
Why isn't the face-into-brick-wall emoticon on the quick list? You're entirely right. I missed/misread the bit about the alignment getting chosen at the start of the round, but applied after the actions. Thomanil guesses Chaotic Neutral for Tarvalk & Karstaal.
-
Managed to ninja my post in between yours. As I understand it, the rounds go Actions>Shift>Guesses.
-
Help me fix my logic, then.. As I read the quote, if we leave someone in a Lawful state at the end of all our actions, and the shift for that round is towards Lawful, then they would be super-lawful and thus fall out of the spectrum. It wouldn't make sense for them to fall out of the spectrum if the alignment-shift being referred to occurred at the start of the round, pushed them to lawful (or was neutral and left them lawful), and we didn't bother with their lawful/chaotic alignment through our actions that round. Of course, if at the start of the next round, the shift was towards Lawful again, we would have to nudge them back towards neutral before the end of the round, but that's an entirely different scenario than "If they end the round lawful and there's a lawful shift that round"
-
Au contraire, though that's what I initially thought as well.
-
I was assuming there'd be no overlaps, but that's just my guess. To be honest, I feel like we might be better off not guessing this first round. I think we're supposed to get hints to their alignment from their responses, so it really might be in our best interests to simply not guess at all until we see how they react to our nudging them in a given direction. There's two parts to every guess and we have no way of knowing if Pie will confirm whether one of those is right if the other isn't. So all it takes is for us to mis-guess and then we're stuck testing that theory. It'll probably be easier to spend our first turn or two getting everyone safe from the edges (so that no one has a 2/5 chance to storm off) and then nudging NPCs one at a time towards a given guess while also keeping everyone else near the neutral zone.
-
Ahh okay so the shift occurs at the end of/during a round, not at the start of a new one. Gotcha. Guess: True Neutral Tarvalk Guess: True Neutral Karstaal Cross your fingers for a neutral roll, folks. Heh.
-
So will Guts' guesses go through after he influences them (assuming no one doubles up on those NPCs), but before the random shift, or after the random shift?
-
Winter break means miles from anyone, weak internet, and another 3-heart zelda attempt. Wind Waker HD, Hero mode. Who cares if Faeries give me an extra 12 effective hearts?
-
I should really go back and take a few notes, it'll make this a lot easier! "Let's try 'n keep everyone level headed for now. Don't wanna risk havin' three leaders storm off at once, so try and keep at most two of 'em at any given temperament." Thormanil sidles up to Tarvalk, with the intention of sewing some seeds of chaos. "Tarvalk, m'names Thormanil and this here's Arx. He's but a little one now, but just imagine a while down the road: he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with! Not unlike an angry orcish horde, I'd bet. I'd wager you could rally the support of all the clans for a true showing of force and have that thing down by morning. The High Kingdoms wouldn't dare infringe on your territory after that, would they?" Shouting across the table to Karstaal, hoping to leave a bad taste in his mouth, "I said it before and I think they're kinda right, Karstaal, but you're going awfully far to replace your own traditions and culture with that of the High Kingdoms. It's a bloody history but it's your history. There's a great deal of respect built around it. The Kingdoms couldn't hope to match the strength of a warrior-bred horde." Was typing while you posted, Scuba. I can adjust if you see fit.

Just so I understand: 1. None of the moods for this round represent their actual alignments, only their current states, aye? 2. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "alignment spectrum". If someone ends a round at Lawful, and the next round shifts towards Lawful, will they then be out of the spectrum?

"And just, uh, outta curiosity, is there anyone who'd want to sabotage this clanmeet and prevent discussions of the bridge from even takin' place?"
