Is it just me, or did they recolor Cap’s shield to be a darker red in the new Hydra set? -

So I was looking at the Creator thread, and I noticed that Creator Expert is apparently being renamed to LEGO Icons, at least internally. Given that we’ve heard that the new D2C is “Hogwarts Icons,” is there any chance that the “Icons” part of the name could just be referring to it being a part of the new “Icons” set collections? -

Has anyone mocked up a photoshop to see what all of these new sets look like next to the current castle pieces (2018-2020)? -

From what I've seen, the heads on the right have sleeping eyes, while the head on the left have open eyes, which is kinda frustrating, as it means that you can't have all three heads with eyes open without getting more of the head pieces. -

Other than the Great Hall, does anyone know what particular sections of the actual castle these sets are intended to represent? Or are they just generic Hogwarts-esque walls? -

I'm honestly still wondering if Gringotts will be the D2C. I don't doubt that some icons set will be released, but the mix-ups make me wonder if we will be getting both, with one as the D2C and the other as a large set alongside of it. -

Upon talking to him more, he said that they switched to the sand green for a feeling of newness to the sets, as well as to emulate the classic style of green roofs for the 20th anniversary. Marcos Bessa seemed to hint at the Dumbledore figure being included in another upcoming set. Are we sure that the D2C isn't a minifigure-scale set and that the icons set is something different? -

So upon asking Marcos Bessa, he said that this new wave of Hogwarts sets is intended to be a soft reboot of the castle for the new generations of HP fans, though they are connectable to the prior 2018-2020 sets. -

I was referring to the 2020 AT-AT set, but I could see LEGO potentially putting a snowspeeder in the UCS. It would hopefully let them create a more "UCS" quality system-scale version. Though CaveGod's MOC uses around 8000 parts (if I remember correctly) for a large-scale AT-AT, so I don't know how many pieces they would have left to create a snowspeeder after the main build, especially if they also have to accommodate for movable legs, which I believe CaveGod's AT-AT lacks (again, I could be wrong on that). -

I'm honestly kinda surprised that no snowspeeders emerged alongside of the AT-AT, though I suppose the past snowspeeder was finishing up its shelf life at that time. -

Would anyone want LEGO to follow a similar pattern to Harry Potter and make a summer wave for each movie (or couple of movies), giving us stronger, larger waves for each film with some needed remakes and potentially new sets? This would leave room for the spring waves to be a mixture sets while keeping the summers focused. -

I wouldn't necessarily expect many side characters except the obvious Peter Parker and JJJ, except for possibly MJ. As much as I wouldn't mind side characters, I would much rather they give us more characters like Punisher and Daredevil that they may not put in regular system sets than "waste" slots with civilians (as much as, in a different sense, there are plenty of civilian characters that would be good to get). I suppose I could see LEGO putting scorpion in this set then, as he tends to be one of the prominent sinister six villains, and it would make sense considering ties to the Daily Bugle and, moreover, JJJ. Another consideration would be Mr. Negative, especially given his popularity with Spider-Man PS4. Rhino could always be done as a brickbuilt machination, similar to the set released some years ago (though hopefully far better than that), but a big-fig would definitely be preferable going by mainline comics. -

I would agree that LEGO Star Wars is generally at its best when they have a good mix of sets (but especially when those sets are good as well - looking at you, KoR ship and Grievous Starfighter (which more had price issues than set quality issues)). As a fan of the OT and PT more than the sequel trilogy, I still look back at 2013-2014 fondly as far as set quality and variation. The PT definitely needs better sets though. I still feel that a lot of the PT sets from the past years have had strong quality; there have just been few of them. And there are so many sets from the PT that either have never been made or haven't been remade in years. -

I could kinda see that happening, honestly. I mean, who all do have we have as confirmed present/absent members of the six in this set? Confirmed: Goblin, Mysterio, ? Confirmed Absent: Scorpion, Electro I think Doc-Ock is a pretty obvious inclusion, but that still leaves such villains as Kraven, Shocker, Rhino, Vulture, etc. as possibilities for the set. -

Yeah. I appreciated the Summer 2020 wave in terms of it's mixture of Mandolorian, PT, OT, and CW sets, and getting more waves, or even just years as a whole, of that would be good. It seems like LEGO is currently taking a break with ST sets for the moment, at least primarily, so I hope they can get in some good waves with the other movies as the focus for a little bit. There were some really good OT and PT sets in the midst of the new movie sets, but as a fan of more of the OT/PT designs, I would love to see a bit more focus on those than on the ST sets (as good as some of them were). -

I honestly don't know. The consistency (of sorts) with it all kinda made it seem intentional, but I honestly think that the new movies may have severely offset these patterns as LEGO tried to balance sequel trilogy/anthology film sets with releasing sets based on popular OT themes, leaving these kinds of PT sets in the dust. -

I question if we'll get a phoenix minifigure anytime soon. The opportune time would have been around the release of Dark Phoenix, but LEGO doesn't seem quick to want to release X-men based sets. I suppose the past sets did badly enough... -

I've never really noticed the pattern of stopping after the third iteration before. That's rather unfortunate. Though with the AT-TE we did end up getting Captain Rex's AT-TE in 2016 (?), as much as that wasn't a regular AT-TE design. -

I could definitely see LEGO releasing these kinds of figures at some point in some way, but they would almost definitely be variants. The comics have enough different designs for characters that they would potentially (at least depending on the character), have a plethora of ways they could re-release these characters without making the Comic Con exclusivity obsolete. -

Okay. Thanks. With the emphasis on the Clone Wars and the Mandalorian this summer, it will certainly be interesting to see where this set falls source-wise. On a side note, by LEGO's usual patterns of set releases, aren't we due for a new MTT? -

This is honestly such a weird wave of sets, and I really don't know how they'll sell. I'm in the camp that really was hoping for a Gringotts and some nice 2018-2020 Hogwarts-style expansions, but that just doesn't seem to be what we're getting. As much as there have been plenty of complaints about the lack of minifigure-scale sets though, I am intrigued to see how the buildable objects turn out, as they may end up being really nice display pieces. While I know we all want minifigure-based sets, and I think it doesn't help that we all had a lot of expectations for this year, I want to see what the August wave ends up looking like before any final judgements on how worthwhile of a wave of sets this is from LEGO.
