[MOC] Lincoln Town Car 1990
syzygy87 replied to syzygy87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks a lot! :) -
Oh, there are some curves on the sides of the car, that's why they are built with SNOT technique :) But in general you are right, the older cars are easier to replicate with lego :) Yes, you are right, there is some inconsistency. But LEGO doesn't use side windows (most of the time) either, so only the front one is missing. I couldn't fit anything in there - the windshield from the ECTO didn't fit, even though it was the closest. Yes, you're right - I already had limited space there, the long black plates support the sides of the car which had to be reinforced somewhere, increasing the lack of space. I know, the V8 should be a bit more in the back, however there I have a steering layout and I couldn't fit it. The alternative is a creator expert style engine, however I preferred it to move :) Wow, I didn't expect that at all! Thanks a lot! =================== Thank you all for your kind words!

Thanks! The main goal was the curved sides of the car :) The real car is very rounded, I wanted to replicate that well. I don't see it - then the wheels would go forward too :) But surely there is a solution (just need to find it). I am currently trying to improve this chassis for another car - I have an idea, maybe it will work.

[MOC] Ford F100 (1972) RC
syzygy87 replied to syzygy87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's because of the suspension. It prevents rubbing on the fenders ;) But I know it spoils the look a bit - it should sit as low as on this photo. I'm thinking of converting it to a version without PF and suspension - just for the shelf. I don't play with it anyway. Then it could be lower. Yes, this combination is a bit risky - however, in the apartment (with relatively easy terrain) no cardan has broken :) But it's definitely not a trial truck. I think the reason is my lack of experience in suspension construction :) It works, but I could improve that cardan and front suspension. It would definitely help in heavier terrain. Thank you all for your feedback - I'm still learning, so any advice is valuable :) -

Thanks! -
Last year I made three alternative models from Ford Mustang parts. Mustang is already rebuilt, so the next ones are unlikely to be made :) In order not to spam you too much, I publish them together in one topic. I will be grateful for your opinion. You're absolutely right - I missed that detail, my bad. Thanks for the feedback! :) -
A few months ago I built something like this. It is remote controlled, has two manual gears and suspension. PF: 2x L motor, servo, small BB box, front lights. Color-wise I was aiming for something like this: Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-88031/syzygy87/ford-f100-1972-rc-suspension/#details A2 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr A2,5 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr A3 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr A4 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr A6 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr B2 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr B1 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr A5 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr Z1 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr kokpit2 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr kokpit1 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr C2 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr C1 by Jakub Marcisz, on Flickr Do you like it? :)

Hey, this is my Chevrolet El Camino model in Creator Expert scale. Features - working engine and steering wheel. You can open the trunk, doors and of course the hood, under which you can see the running engine. Please watch the video :) I'd be grateful for feedback! Thank you all! Feedback is very important to me (not just praise). Yes, you are all absolutely right, it bothers a lot of people, including me ;) However, the change would involve strong interference with the entire chassis of the car. Of course at the beginning I planned to put IR in this place, but much lower. During construction I changed shock absorbers mounts and pushed the place for IR higher. I don't know if I should redesign everything now, because it will take some work ;) I think I'd rather focus on something new... but I will definitely be careful in the future not to do it again.;) I'm glad you noticed that. I was looking for quite a long time for the right part, and I had the solution right in front of me, on my desk. 42107 Ducati has this part ;)
