  1. And I contacted Velux.dk in Denmark. They don't have it anymore. Consider yourself a lucky man! (Hands up, how many EB members wrote a similar email to Velux.xxxx, haha?)
  2. Looks great Those elements were made for that purpose only. Thanks TLG!
  3. But I want old grey back! Sorry wrong thread, haha ... Horse looks much better. Not only 5-10 year old 'boys' (damn, that was wrong worded of TLG - the word is 'children') but also AFOLS want this new fangled horsie .. Good move of TLG, me wants!

    Street furniture

OT!: -> Tiger, we don't have red phonebooths here in DK - that's the UK And TDC is dismantling the rest, everybody have cell/mobilephones here now. Buy less Lego and save up for a ticket to Denmark
  5. Allright, I got my 7745! Along with a large track and transformer to boot I've made a mistake, the pin (on the motor) is indeed 7mm but_in length_, NOT diameter! The diameter is still only 5mm as used on all motors/bogie plates from 12V until now Sorry for the confusion b'n'bs advise/MOD is all good! It's been 25 years since I last had a 12V setup, so I got all worried for nothing Now awaiting my 7727 ..
  6. Hello bricks n bolts (or anyone else who have the answer) How well does the PF motor attach to the 7745 train base? The PF motor has a 5mm stud while the old 12V system used 7mm studs/holes I'm asking because I've bought a 7745 (not recieved yet) and I'm planning to convert it into PF. If I have to buy new trainbases it would be a bit of a bummer Anyway thanks to b'n'b for the good work! And yes, I'd very much like if TLG would do a re-run of those conductive plates! And in black to boot Cheers, Ole
  7. I'm quite sure that majority of Lego users are using regular (road)baseplates and not SNOTing ayway. They are not a relic, they're current in TLGs shop But as TLG are creating wider and wider vehicles there is problem. Space! (No, not _that_ space) I'm not wanting wider roads, that would mean fewer studs on the side. We got six studs now, not a lot. I'm not sure what to do? But I sure would like a bigger diversity in roadplates. Check BL, there's a bunch, but they're either green or old light gray. I wish they're would bring back some of the old ones in the current DBG, like this one :
  8. The ONLY and absolute ONLY reason TLG uses chineese subcontractors are because of costs. TLG can do any damn advanced molding/printing they'd ever fancy in Denmark But the chineese plants apparently can do it cheaper. Don't think they can buy the ABS any cheaper than TLG so it must be down to production costs. Either cheaper machines, cheaper labour or taxes. Whatever is the reason, it must mean a whole lot to the TLG accountants It's not that hard to figure out, folks While I have no knowledge of the chineese plastics durability (for obvious reasons), I'll not buy any more CMFs. The quality sucks. Just plain suck. It has nothing to do with the Lego I know (and have known for +34 years), shame rally. Such lovely minifigs That being said, TLG themselves are horrible at quality control. I've bought _many_ of the current Dino series and lots of common yellow bricks (bricks they've made without problems in the last 40 years) are of the wrong colour! Death to those damn beancounters. Producing ABS in the right shape and colour would not be so difficult with TLGs experience one would think, no? Ok, rant over I'm just a bit sad about all this. Shit like that didn't happen when I was a child Anachir, how can it not be a problem? You say that the chineese have managed to produce bricks "ALLMOST" to the quality of TLG. ALLMOST? What frikkin' good is that? I have bricks that are 40 years old. They're STILL much better quality than that inferior stuff from whatever country. I don't care where TLG gets their stuff made. Billund is not far away from me, but I'm not nostalgic. Nor nationalistic. China is fine with me. If my mothers factory made those CMFs, I'd still give her hell But I may be slightly biased as I make a living of buying stuff from .. China. Quality is simply not well understood there. Regardless of costs, sigh
  9. Ahh, but they allmost did, remember? They've put out a lot of ideas and themes that didn't do well anyway. I'm sure they're employing a gazzillion market researches but the future is very hard to predict But I can't see how a zoo theme would tank though. It could even be a subtheme in City that could go on for years. It's true that TLG recently have put out more animals (and more detailed than ever) so maybe, just maybe, that zoo is not so far away. I wouldn't bet on 2013 though. The Duplo Zoo is quite recent though, maybe they're testing waters?
  10. But just how do they ask him/do those surveys? I'll bet a full-on zoo with all the goodies would appeal much more to a kid than a single dino. Of course a fullblown Dino setup would appeal more to the same boy then a lone zebra. See what I mean? I know my kid has all the Dinos he could ever want but still lust for that Duplo Zoo (that dad had to buy in secret so he could make the City zoo, sigh) And if looking at a shelf full of Lego (Starwars for instance) is the 'standard', I do wonder how thems like Atlantis and Power Miners came to life (both was quite popular in my home btw) .. TLG has enough money to try out a theme like Zoo. Hell, they blow money on weird licenses (Avatar?) anyway, so whay not try a Zoo? Dino is probably dead in half a year anyway and just how much did those magnificient molds cost? A zebra, elephant (no, I did not like the one from Orient Express), hippo, lion, tiger etc would not be _that_ expensive to mold. And they could be used in a safari theme as well They could be used in many themes and live on for years like the monkey, shark, parrot They could make (and equally politically incorrect) circus theme as well! Those animals are ICONIC in every childs life. But they seem to be absent from TLGs stock (except Duplo) I find that very very strange
  11. Please support Henrik, we are almost exhausted here in DK! The man needs white sleepers, a shitload of them
  12. Technic=function(s). That's why TLG invented those toothed thingies to put on axels that go through holed bricks Just because a set uses many typical Technical parts that does not make it Technic (I'm looking at you, Starwars!) Technich is not bricks. It's a philosophy, it's a way of building and a way to achive (movable) results. I think that's been clear from the 70's I've never been in doubt about that, not have I seen TLG been in doubt. Yes, Modelteam (and a few others) have been crossover, but it's still not Technic is it? Technic have slipped into all (well, not Duplo, Belville, Friends etc) other themes and Technic uses ordinary bricks as well, but such is Lego/TLG That makes no sense. They do, all of them. You can see tons of typical Technic 'bricks' in just about any theme. Add you can find typical bricks in just about any Technic theme Technic is LEGO!
  13. I'm quite sure boys will dig a zoo! If TLG can make all thse molds for Duplo (<-- yes, I've made a zoo for (my) City and had to do with the Duplo molds - my son doens't seem to care though), they can do it for it for City as well It's not a question of money or expensive molds (the new Dino theme have _very_ expensive dinos/molds (and quite good ones, I may add!)), it's just a question of will .. and probably those damn surverys they do. But is a ten year old boy the right to ask? What if he was presented with a fullblown zoo with all the goodies, would he not like that? (Instead of a "would you like a T-rex or a pig)? I'm sure it would sell like hotcakes. Is the Duplo zoo not selling? Does TLG not want Duplo users to step up to City? Conflict (Police) is a selling point, yes, but it should not be THE seeling point. Or else TLGS 'no modern army' has very litte standing ground Fire is not so much about conflict, renovation sure is hell is not and trains either. Nor is boats, medical and car/road repair .. All the action themes are (about conflict), but I do not se many Dinos, Agents, Atlantis or whatnot in Lego/my/any City So bring on those cute animals, please. No-one in my City wants to watch (only) a bunch of rats, cows, horses, camels and parrots
  14. So, I wanted to build this neat little 'bobcat' as seen here : http://smashing-bricks.com/2012/02/13/toyfairny-2012-lego-city-summer-sets/ (Scroll down to set 4201 and have a close look at the loader/'bobcat') Should be a piece cake, no? But just how exactly is that digger bucket (BL 30394) connected?? First I just copied how the bucket is connected on the blue tractor from the 7637 Farm. But that don't work well. The bucket is too small so the hinge plate assembly scrapes the ground Looking at BL I can see that the bucket (30394) has actually never been used like that before, with the long arms like on the 7637 tractor and in the 4201 set There's a hingeplate used in the 4201 set that I haven't seen before. Seems to be a combination of : And this : I can't seem to find such an item at BL So, is this a new part or am I overlloking something? Cheers,
  15. That's just a pic of the 3677 Red Cargo Train. I have no hi-res pics of the mine set (that I will surely get, pretty awesome, and a good excuse to buy one million grey bricks to build a mountain, haha). I think you can only see it that youtube video But I/we may be wrong and it might be straight ng tracks (which will make BL explode)
  16. I think the consensus is that it's just ordinary straight old dbg tracks like those used on the 3677 car
  17. The crossing is only good if you have quite a big setup and I wonder just how many TLC sold of those? Anyway, I think the metal 9V cross track could be used with PF I really don't understand this lust for narrow gauge tracks, especially if the train'n'cars end up being 6/7 stud wide anyway Looks odd to me .. I can't really come up with parts I long for .. 'cept way more PF! I want PF'ed switched tracks, road crossings etc - basicly what we had in the ol' 12V days And really, I just want TLC to continue with the train theme. I don't want special 10XXX popping up randomly (I don't like the EN or the Mærsk), I want the full enchilada! Stations, manned road crossings, cranes, storage buildings, trainsheds and SINGLE trains and cars please I for one, does not long for the 4,5/9/12V days, I'm quite happy with PF and remotes And it would be little work to interface PF with a computer for multiple, timed setups Really, I just want moooaarr traaaiiinnssss ...

    Unknown minifig

I had one myself. I think I bought it in the Legoland shop in Billund sometime during the mid 80's. It was glued and might have been a keychain type of minifig. I think similar, but much larger figures, are on display outside the park, but it's been ages since I was there last time. I vagely recall seeing people working there in such uniforms also. Hope this helps
  20. The pics from 7777 are quite obscure (my pdf does not have backend pics). I like your MOC, but the base should not be green. In real life it's a dirty enviroment and dark (bluish) grey might be better. I'm taking about the first bricklayer on the silos (and the small ones in front) and the baseplates). More tubes and pipes might also be in place. And a small shed/hut for the workers Brick on! I'd luv to se the final result
  21. In Germany it might be different, but in Denmark, the 7939 and 7938 are everywhere, the 3677 is nowhere to be seen (only in non Lego affiliated webshops with dubious stock). So, I don't expect the 7939 to be unavailable anytime soon Haven't checked amazon.de/co.uk/whatever That makes me pretty sure that the 7939 is still very popular and thus not likely to out of stock Just my local observations Anyway, it's a very nice train, with lots of decent track. Get it!
  22. I'm only relaying what I heard from e reputable Lego dealer. HP and TS3 will go out with the license and Mærsk items have always been a specialty (but I'm not sure how long they used to be in stock) Anyway, I think that it's safe to say that we are not getting any new trains for 2012 (at least not in the first half year) so my guess is that 7939, 7938 and the 3677 will be in stock until something new comes along
  23. Here in Denmark it's easier to find the 7939 than the red cargo train so I don't think it's going out of stock anytime soon. I think it's more popular with younger people/kids. While it's (the 7939) list price is higher than the red cargo train, it's easy to find the 7939 under 150 euro which is cheaper than the red's list price I quite like the 7939 Also, since I don't think there'll be any new trains for 2012 I guess all three will be available for some time. The Mærsk, Emerald, HP and TS3 train are being discontinued during next year
  24. 4564 is also quite high : And so is the TS3 train .. Hmm, I think I'll try to up the 7939 one stud and 7938 as well. That would make is posssible to put doors in the 7938 while keeping the curved roof
