  1. The pre-order link appears to be gone for me on lego.com. Is that typical for preorders? Or some glitch on my end?
  2. I think this set looks gorgeous. BtAS was a seminal show for me and there are a lot of great references (Clock King gets a reference!). Brilliantly done. That said, no way I would buy this in the near future. Even if I was going to spend $300 on an art set, I wouldn't know where to put it. The thing is 30" wide.
  3. Thank you for these! I have a bookshelf I'm building my medieval town on that's 88 studs x 38, so this is extremely helpful for planning purposes.
  4. I'm not as down on the left side buildings as some folks here, but I don't think either of the buildings works completely for me. I definitely don't feel the need to buy this day one, especially with the number of nostalgia button pushing sets coming out this year. I'll have to mull this over.
  5. Right now I have four shelves dedicated to my sets, although I may add a fifth at some point, and I choose what to keep limited by that space. Right now I have a Marvel/City shelf, a Medieval shelf (waiting on March!), Rivendell on its own shelf and a miscellaneous for the smaller sets/MOCs that don't fit otherwise. I love the look and everything I've read about Lion Knights Castle, but ultimately I decided I wanted town setup more than a castle. I'm also intrigued by Barad-Dur, but can't justify it. I may try to get the minifigs on Bricklink, depending on what they are.
  6. If true, my wallet is going to take a beating in January. There is the CMF coming out and I want to pick Family Reunion Celebration.
  7. I guess its Storm's hair that is throwing me off.
  8. Are my eyes deceiving me, or are there shorter legs on Wolverine?
  9. If anyone is interested, Tiago Catarino's review is on YouTube. I find his reviews pretty valuable personally:
  10. Eoyen is the rarely seen female counterpart to Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, I believe...;)
  11. This is fantastic! Is the floor in the main room just placed or are those pieces actually connected underneath? Its a really cool effect.
  12. I am in the exact same boat. I have a couple of smaller sets from the Hobbit thanks to foresight from my wife, but didn't really didn't really get started collecting/building again until the pandemic started.
  13. Thanks for the feedback! That 1x2 is a mistake is the start of something I didnt remove all the way it appears. Otherwise great points. I have been trying to think through some other memoranda from his adventures (only really have the dummy from the Empty House, although I think it was white in the show). The Blue Carbuncle is a great idea.
  14. Hi folks, This is my first MOC, a take on the Granada TV version of Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett is the best Sherlock in my opinion. I've taken some liberties with the design, but the inspiration is from that show. There are details still to add (like the violin, syringe, pipe, actual picture over the mantle piece), but I was hoping for some feedback before I ordered some of the pieces I'd see need to actually build and finalize it. Any feedback is helpful! sherlock_front by Jon Keller, on Flickr sherlock_left by Jon Keller, on Flickr sherlock_fireplace by Jon Keller, on Flickr sherlock_experiment_table by Jon Keller, on Flickr
  15. Thanks much. Some of the warnings were in places I wouldnt expect, but I am also usually able to physically test whatever I build, so its a new experience for me.
  16. How much weight do you give is it when assessing the stability of your design? I don't have any stability issues, but I do have 20 or so warnings.
  17. Thanks! I am working on a spooky theater right now. I just finished a draft of the organ (which every spooky theater should have). I want it to have a trap door, secret staircase and sliding wall. The forums have already been very helpful in thinking about how to design those.
  18. The greenery is really nice. Its really difficult to make it look organic but not messy.
  19. Tremendously helpful topic. Thanks to all who have contributed!
  20. I'm one of what I assume is a lot of people who have rekindled their love of Lego during the pandemic. My kids have started to get into them in the last few months and that's inspired some building of my own. I'm here to learn design and building techniques, get feedback on my own stuff and just enjoy myself. My goal is to design and build a custom Scooby Doo set for my kids by next Christmas (they really enjoy making spooky buildings - not sure if thats a comment on me as a parent). Looking forward to learning from you all!
  21. Looks good. So. Far. if lego: build += 1
