In a word, this looks awesome! I'd very much like some banked track to go with this set, as I see myself buying 2 and equipping 2-4 PF motors underneath...

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
RoxYourBlox replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd like to plug my project. I still like my Pumpkin Factory better than Apple Square. However, while the former failed, the latter could ride a wave over the next 5 weeks... or die just as miserably. Either way, I won't be collecting a cent. If this doesn't work, then I think none of my MOCs--nor any of my future ideas--would, and I'll safely write off Cuusoo altogether. -
Survey: New parts and new colors
RoxYourBlox replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
- Part name: 3794 - Part description: plate 1x2 w 1 knob (1x2 jumper plate) - Part usage: I would like to see this part produced in dark orange, as it would be a wonderful color for window sills next to reddish brown or brick yellow (tan) brick walls. - Part name: 3048 - Part description: end ridged tile 1x2/45° - Part usage: I would like to see this part produced in earth blue. All other roof parts except strangely this one are available in earth blue. - Code Name: Sand red - Color code: 8c6b6b - Color usage: There are few alternatives for brick-reds in the current palette unless you substitute something darker (dark red), more saturated (pink), or less hue (medium nougat). Please reissue sand red bricks and plates in a future modular building or creator set. - Color sample: -
http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/25463 This is now a project on Cuusoo; I would donate my share to charity. Although it's tough to reduce large creations to a scale realistic for production, I took a shot by editing the footprint to 16x32 studs, thus allowing it to fit into anyone's modular building collection (a la 10223 Kingdoms Joust). Check out the revision here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RoxYourBlox/lxf2/cuusoo.lxf Also, I'd like to replace the LDD screen capture (bottom picture in the cuusoo link) with renders showing the front (exterior) and back (interior). If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it very much.

There is perhaps not a better example of an inside corner than Jasper Joppe Geers' "Police HQ": http://www.flickr.com/photos/50639649@N04/sets/72157625179371901/

I suppose I can understand the focus on animals in 2013 because my 5-year-old daughter has repeatedly asked me to build a zoo. However, as a parent, I'd like to buy more sets such as Olivia's workshop to reinforce her self-esteem.

http://legocuusoo.posterous.com/141364880 ASU is over 7500 bricks, and the 32x32 version is half of that. I've been thinking about a successful cuusoo strategy, but any project would have to be reasonable in terms of brick and lot counts to pass review.

Thank you all for the kind words! I don't know what to say... Truthfully, I had feelings of dissatisfaction with the final build. Perhaps I was being too harsh in judgment.

A corner flower shop would be great!

I like all the fine details in your work! The vault, tellers, and ATM are great, and as always the cars seem to be your specialty!

Congrats to the winners and a big thanks to Eurobricks for hosting and spurring a fascinating exchange of ideas. I feel I learned a lot about what qualities are important (or less so) for a good modular building.

As a fan of a hobby which prides itself on instructions, I embarrassingly admit I posted in the wrong format. Please accept my humblest apologies (and my votes)!

I like the storyline and how thought and attention went into placement of each brick! Great job!

Absolutely hilarious! I'm tempted to replicate this at home for my daughter.

The creative use of parts on the exterior and the detailed interior truly are the highlights here! I think the use of bright colors to emphasize the lively nature of the setting could have been employed better through attention focused on 2 areas of the color wheel. For example, if for the primary scheme of the first floor you'd have chosen blue, then its complement would be orange trim. A translucent orange (neon) sign would have been a nice touch. If the upper floors are to be subdued in comparison, neutral (black or white) window sills would have blended better with the sand/brick yellow (tan) without diverting the eye from the contrast established on the ground floor. Lastly, the content borders tastefulness, but by saying this I acknowledge my entry was just as guilty.

I love the Winter Village series, so this is a must-buy for me. I also hope that along with the Cottage we will see 2-3 of the older Winter Village sets re-issued as they were last year. In particular I miss the Toy Shop since the tall black window sill has become gradually uncommon since its disappearance from the market.
