One thing that I notice besides the dust are the yellow doors for the entrance to the captain's quarters. They are suppose to be white. There's my two cents. Good luck with this project.

Two imperial guards, both LEGO
Admiral Bejaune replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
This was my thought exactly. I have about 25 redcoats, and not a one of them has black buttons. My guess is the re-issued sets had the black buttons instead of gold. But weren't the re issues in the early 2000's? Oh, I also checked my bluecoats and out of 30 of them, none of them differ in anyway. -
Most definitely on the quarter deck. The Sang Royale's wheel is just in front of the where the poop decks starts.

Yea the google translator doesn't work to well. I lived in Brasil for a few months, 5 to be exact, so I picked up some Portuguese while I was there. It was just enough to get around ordering food, holding a somewhat conversation, oh and ordering caipirinhas and beer. Oh how I miss caipirinhas and Brazilian beer.

This is great. The shape of the hull is very realistic looking. Good job with the mast and rigging. The color scheme works very well, Im surprised about how well the dark red and red go together. Very nice work. One thing that could improve IMO are the sails... They look good, but you could use a different material thats not as white. I believe there is a tutorial about it.

The Jolly Roger Figure on the Bicorner Hat
Admiral Bejaune replied to Barbaros's topic in LEGO Pirates
No, It is not historically accurate. Most pirates wanted their pirate status hidden while they where not plundering. If they where to walk around port with a large jolly roger on their hat or clothes, it would make them an easy target for british, french, etc, to see that they are pirates, and their pirating career would come to a short and sudden stop. -
Thanks everyone for the comments and support. Im still in the process of rigging, It takes a little time and I want to make sure I get it right the first time. I will be putting custom moc cannons on the quarter and foredecks, they will be much smaller than the lego system cannons. I am still debating if I should put moc cannons on the second gundeck or use the lego system ones. Again thanks for the great comments and suggestions, OH and Mr. Tiber, Yes there will be Royal Blood.

Port Augustine & La Formidable, both WIP
Admiral Bejaune replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looks great so far. I love the use of dark red. From what I can see the ship looks good. Ill be sure to follow up on the process of this wip. -
Some teasers of my wip ship Sang Royale. 64 guns. The French's answer to the large British ship thats rumored to be almost finished. The La Mort Royale's younger and slightly larger sister. Special thanks to my good friend Captain Greenhair for all his help. I owe him some guitar lessons.

Well different variations of pool have been around since the 15th century so that one can slide, but the piano that we know of today came around in the mid to late 1800's, but there have been different variations of the piano leading up to the modern piano. Read up on both of them. Wikipedia.com is the best place IMO.

I like the action and busy feel of this moc, you have captured the tavern scene very well. But I was wondering if the piano style instrument was in fact a piano or organ... The answer to that question would give me a good reference of what time period this moc is set in.

The new soldiers, what shall I do with them?
Admiral Bejaune replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I know this topic has gone cold, but I just ran across it.. I am probably going to use the new soldiers as an admirals personal guard or perhaps a special unit in the marines. Im sure those ideas have been said before but I did not feel like reading every response on the subject. -T -
Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this creation has been discussed here, but it is too cool and well built not to share it.. I did not create this, but someone named CraniumCrag on brickshelf did. Here is the link to brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=344490

The movie "Pirates" by Roman Polanski is the best pirate movie ever made. Its an older movie and not as well known as it should be. I suggest everyone find a copy and watch it. The galleon replica 'Neptune' was made for this movie.

Agreed. Although they are great designs and match the pictures well. We don't see you much in these waters KimT.

Looks great. Very nice job on the hair.

I checked out your link. Nice job. The ranks look great. I distinguish my ranks very similar to what you have shown... Different color epaulettes and uniforms is all you need for ranks.
-
It looks good. The sails you have made look great; they have a nice shape to them.
