  1. September 7th in Aus edit: I fell this is pretty common here with all the 1:8 supercar releases
  2. Yeah I was a bit disappointed when I saw that the connection was 'broken' in the middle. But even if it was fixed my experience with these types of suspension in MOCs is that it does indeed do next to nothing functionality wise. It's mainly for the looks I think, and it's definitely an improvement in the right direction that they even tried to add it all.
  3. This indeed looks a lot better. I think some people are quick to assume that the opposite of colour coding/vomit is an all black chassis. But I think you can make a chassis with black/LBG/DBG that looks clean and is also easy to put together. Then if you must use another colour to make something clearer use the colours used in the bodywork. In this case if you used tan or dark orange, it wouldn't look so bad because it at least matches the overall colour scheme - no need to use red/lime/yellow or whatever. Other design choices also make it seem like they're intentionally trying to add blue pins into the model. Take the one in the upper a-pillar for example: which could easily be avoided by replacing the 2 thin liftarms (++) to a (+O) liftarm. Less pieces as well.
  4. There abouts. It’s interesting because if you filter by new cars only then you have roughly 34,500 autos to 675 manuals for sale. Which is closer to 98%-2%. Suggesting that the manual is slower disappearing. I never learnt how to drive a manual, my dad had an auto when I was learning to drive. It’s on my bucket list of things to do, but more so I actually have the ability to do so if needed - not because I see myself owning a manual car any time soon.
  5. To give you some idea: currently on Carsales Australia there are just under 200,000 autos for sale and 17,500 manuals.
  6. @JesseNight Sounds good, enjoy the journey and I look forward to seeing the finished product 👍🏼 The photos section on rebrickable is always handy, I always have a good look if there’s a MOC I’m interested in building. Well both my earlier cars broke down and were in the scrap yard well before that was an issue. Current car is more of a crimson darker red and is much more reliable. So hopefully won’t have either issue haha
  7. Very clever. And I appreciate the diagram to help understand the concept more. I’m definitely not smart enough (or motivated enough) to work out if that works with the existing shift drums we have… I still feel like it’s a new variant in some form or another. And I’m still not sure how you rotate the gear indicator correctly from a 45/90 degree input…. Whatever the solution for that has to work with the GWP too.
  8. @JesseNight Thanks! Every car I've had irl has been red, not necessarily by choice though, just the way its worked out haha. I really like that white/black/blue speck. Someone on rebrickable made one similar. I have another WIP model with an orange interior so I can say it does go well with the blue on the shelf. Although you can't really go wrong with red either, I've seen some cool white, red, black specs as well. Would love to see if you come up with anything for the headlights! I 100% agree with you, I couldn't figure anything out that met both requirements which is why we just offered 2 versions and the builder could pick.
  9. I really don't think the yellow drums are a recolour - I think they are another whole new variant. Zooming in they don't look like the existing 2 variants we have. The much thicker part on the first one looks different to me, plus it looks smoother without the markings the other ones have. Otherwise what's the point of recolouring it? I also struggle to understand how they made the gear indicator rotate at 40 degrees to get the 9 positions. If it was reusing the P1 shifting mechanism you would have to go from 45 degrees rotation of the axle to 40 degrees needing an 8:9 or 1:1.125 which I don't think is easy to do with the current gears? Would be far easier to just have drums with 9 positions and shift in 40 degree increments from the get go. Maybe by using a 9 tooth version of the P1 part that was used. But I also don't think its likely that they made such specialised pieces to achieve such an outcome... then again I never thought I'd see printed headlights on a car this scale either. I also think the rear clamshell does open everything at once. There are 2 linkages in the rear, the LBG ones hold the clamshell up while I think the tan ones closer to the middle of the car operate some linkages to open everything else. The front hood doesn't have anything holding it in place when its open which makes me think its connected to some linkages as well. Doesn't explain how only the doors are open on the box cover though... maybe they found a way to make it work in just 1 direction. Overall I'm super interested in seeing the official release and videos of how it works. This is the first one since the Sian that I'm actually excited by. Unfortunately the look is ruined quite a lot by all the colour vomit... the blue and red pins and axles stick out more against the black than any of the other models. Thankfully this is somewhat easy but annoying to rectify by replacing parts out of your own collection. The interior especially doesn't look good with all the colours and parts of the seats missing to fit the mechanisms... The latter of which will be much harder to fix.
  10. Awesome, hope you enjoy it and it lives up to expectations! Nice pick up with the details on the luggage colours. For steps 41 and 51, I actually haven't tried. But I know Astyanax got his model apart without any apparent difficulties, he was quite aware of those sort of things during the instruction making process. As for colours, white was only buildable with 3rd party/painted parts. I'm not sure if that's the route you're going down, but it does open up a lot more possibilities. At the time of the instructions it was only buildable in red or black, but DBG is now possible as well. There are lots of cool colour combos on the rebrickable page. I personally really like the neutral exteriors with the brighter interiors/accents. My black and blue version has undergone a lot of modifications (inspired by the Imola) since that above photo almost 3 years ago. I can't believe its been that long either haha, 3 years goes quick. Anyways, new diffuser, rear wing, dorsal fin with roof scoop, changes to the lower doors, extra details on the front splitter and more blue accents. (I need to take some better photos outside when the weather is better but here's some quick indoor ones)
  11. That wiper trick to support/strengthen the roof has been used in a few popular/well praised koenigsegg MOCs before and I’ve never seen it been complained about before. I think it looks way better than the flex axles in the SP3 windscreen area. At least this represents the wiper whilst those represented nothing at all.
  12. Going to have to wait until better/clearer photos to make a proper judgement but so far pretty hit and miss for me. The printed headlights are awful at this scale. If you wanted to attempt to brick build something you would have to remove the whole panel which also means removing the much nicer print behind it... However I do really like the shape of the roof/windscreen area and the overall colour scheme. Also, and I could be way way off with this, but is it possible these areas are some kind of push/lever mechanism to open the doors?
  13. This is awesome! Great colors, models, technical solutions and video. Great way to add something fresh and unique to a very popular scale of models.
  14. Looks great! Love the use of all those rubber pieces. The project keeps getting better and better. Good luck with the last 3 remaining models needed to finish it.
  15. I agree: since 2020 I have: 1 model from 2026 1 model from 2025 0 models from 2024 1 model from 2023 1 model from 2022 0 models from 2021 1 model from 2020 Edit: I do like the light brick idea suggested above!
