I think you're right. I didn't try to find it in bricklink, just in Studio. And yes it appears to be possible in dark. Strange but good news!

@Neophyte_brickie Woohoo, excelent post !!! Ok, you push the design in another way and that's great to see other possibilites. Congratulation to succes to put all the treads and to find a.... very strange solution When you are talking about a non orthodox way, here you clearly are !!! But why not lol I'm clearly disappointed not to have the pieces to try on my side because with studio, I can't clearly have a result reproducing reality. I was'nt thinking that treads will answer like a metal watch strap, falling inexorably since no friction present. You succes to put a round corner and some round 1x1 plates, very good job, I did'nt know that thoses plates could enter inside the middle of the treads. I must admit that I can't go further with studio... I'm frustrated because I have more ideas that come but clearly need to test it in real. Last thing you didn't pushed up, the junction with the ship, why did'nt you try to make the ship and the dish 10x10 in contact directly, without rectangular tiles all around? if you take a look at @marshal-banana design, there are 2 10x10 dish inverted radar, one in light grey, and another one in dark... but in this color, the piece seems not exist. So something escapes me... @Jez_AU thanks for the link, I knew it since we talked about it one or 2 pages before but I didn't try too compare with your colors. I take the time to re check your pictures, and, my opinion is divided for your last design: now your ship feel too symetrical I think in mandibles, but may be you are now more acurate... difficult way you to choose. Otherwise I think I will do like you, put more dark red tiles above engine

@Jez_AU I was thinking about a movie picture on which you want to go but thanks to share the before / after. I like subtiles mods, like some tiles above engine, you're great. I think the actual color of the set is approaching this picture from the Haynes Manual (which I recommend), but I don't know if it is an official color from one of the movies or only a drawaer work:

I tink I found something, look at 1329 point of instruction, I think this part could feet under the upper globe /turret

@Jez_AU hello, hard to say if your version is better like this or not, your color changement is very low, I have some difficulties to find it. so it would certainly said that this is a good work, with little touches and keeping the original design ! Did you use an original picture, can you share it to look what was wrong?

@macaron35 good price of course, and clearly what I supposed On my side, all is turning around this UCS set, since I'm 40 yo, I'm now interesting by very accurate set, and this one was clearly a dream, many years after I saw the 10179 set. then I bought many and many other set ind second hand market just to have pieces to improve this one set. What is interesting for me is equally the scale rendering, 75257 set will be a little bit small faced to minifigs. I have a friend who was offered an UCS imperial star destroyer (75252), it was fun to help him build it but now, it's hard to have more fun with this set, we only can create some micro ships but impossible to create an interior in minifig scale... My friend is disappointed because when he has to present his set to anyone, he only can talk about exterior design... nothing can be opened, no extra feature. that's my opinion but I clearly understand yours lol! And my luck is to have a room for my different passion (mangas, retrogaming), si I red you were missing place, that's hard to play with it in this case. Hope you'll be happy with your future set and don't hesitate to give feedbacks on it, I will follow your topic!

yes you're right, very easy to do, but not easy to align lol But since they have to be mobile each one, it's technical correct. A future good way would be tu put reverse tile under to make it more clean. Think about mixing dark red / grey and dark tan to accord with MF general color

I can understand of course your many reasons. That's for me the same way, the MF is my first lego since 25 years and it gave me the possibility to play again with Lego. Then I bought many others set just for the idea to mod it or to create background environnement. I'm in France also and I know the situation. The MF is very searched by customers and I would bought another one during fisrt sanitary confinement and I discovered that there was many prices and many scams around this set on LeBonC... Good to see that some classified ads come from honnest people! Can I ask you how many did you sold it? I would say around 600 to 700€ without mods but with the box.

Really good job ! the legs modification is clearly a good tune you're right! An idea : you may try to put another 2 x 4 wedge on each jowl (above the 4 studs but in reverse) to give more relief and approch the design of the Bandai model...

@ClassicLook Hello, happy to see a new proposal. I'm not sure that with this version we will go near the movie design colors but, that's interesting to try it and I love the idea of putting reverse the 2 handles. What do you think about this new version? the dark red only appears in 4 different points as on you picture and the 4 dark tan clip are the same as well.

I have the U wing set and I think you don't need to catch it to realise this moc, clearly different approach. It's not a lovely set because you'r right, too white and blue, a very big window under and the doors are not easy to use... And I don't talk about the design with this under cockpit not really well integrated. What's interesting is the fact that you could play with the wings, that's all for me.

my opinion is that this new version is better and more accurate, just take a look at the movie to undesrtand that exterior, evan by stickers, is more accurate. And the cockpit is of course better. I have the 2 last version and this 75271 is my favorite
