  1. Yeah I am aware of that, unfortunately the size of my pictures are kinda huge which made me not add one. For more sets, well there is a big fort in the making for the Armada faction! Havn't done much so far though, just a basic idea list is made and some small things are created. Actually, it wasn't me that posted that picture But Ill see if I can post a resized picture without it getting to blurry @ZCerberus Ill see if i can change the brick count for a second version, I wanted to add a rowboat and a palmtree anyways. So this i can take along with the project! @Kerntechniker It was indeed based on a role like that @Skipper Well thank you, loved making the old Imperial Starfort for that official set! I did have thoughts of updating it though. Also happy to see some people draw inspiration from my work! @Hiawatha Wish I had the LEGO to do so, then I would really make it indeed! And happy you love it! EDIT: picture changed to 800x600, bit blocky and blurry as I feared though
  2. Update! I posted a new version! It's the train that was colored to Olympic Games style, version 1 (early version). I was planning to add also stickers, but for some reason the sticker generator fails in that at this time. So ill be updating that later I guess. Brickshelf Location
  3. if I would get this set, I likely change it into a 9 volt train, else I don't really see the point in it besides parts My idea of a train is to have a panel that powers the train on/off, not a RC unit. Kinda find it not good to have a RC train, but that could be that I am not used to a RC train.... Anyways, it does have great parts and also some nice things that can be used on 9 volt stuff. So I guess average for this set would be fair.
  4. nice moc! Nicely detailled and deffo worth having!
  5. havn't been to a store yet, but ill look next week or week after. Ill be getting myself a Imperial Flagship anyways. So may as well look around for this! If they don't have it ill just order it! haha
  6. with luck I have the imperial flagship next week, or week after that Checked how much I had and just 1 or 2 weeks more saving up. But I do have to say I may finally have a gf with that time, she knows I like her and she's done with her school etc next week. So likely I find out which of the 2 i get then. I wish I didn't have to choose though... I WANT BOTH!
  7. It was meant to be simple indeed, simple and usable to anyone's imagenation! So please feel free to use this moc. (just not for LEGO itself, unless they talk to me first about a deal ) Anyways, those tips you given are very handy for a next model. I was thinking about a ruin on a hill top with a cave or something. I can use a nice tree for that and uneven ground will be a given then. But for now, first a few simple ones to give ideas to other builders
  8. My very first set! I never really bothered with keeping the orriginal set, i just mixed it in a ship (own design and pretty small for only 5 pirates). I do love the set though, it's a great starter set!
  9. have this set as well, but the orriginal has more and better part ratio. Can do a bit more with the orriginal. When I got this one, I merged both into 1 model. which was not that strong in design, but still great to have!
  10. it's not my first, but it's one of the earliest sets I got. I really loved this set and often used it just like it was. Although I did play a few times that it got shipwrecked to use it's alt models as well! 10+ for this model!
  11. in my childhood I didn't own a single big ship at all, just a tiny pirate one. But often made it longer and having more cannons, sail, 3 masts and it posed directly as pirate base since i didnt have the lego otherwise to give them something to fight against. redcoats, bluecoats, armada and knights were needed to even match the number of pirates I owned back then. Now there are enough redcoats but still no base or ship for them
  12. 1 thing isn't showing clearly on the picture which worries me. The clearance around the train while under that thing. Could you please post a picture of that as well? Besides that, love the idea! Would love to see this working with real LEGO!
  13. oh, oops I posted on a Dutch version of the very same question. Forgot to translate that part i guess Means "I could be mistaken with other versions?". I boughed something online, but its a while back. So don't know if it's set 90003 or something similar. Same time period though.
  14. well, if you look into the idea book. You will find on pages 38 and 39 instructions for a tiny ship based on a rowboat. If i understood and remember correctly, it was supposed to be the pirate in the rear on the final instruction image. With the tricone had and red feather. This was a pirate that was supposed to get a name. Think I written it in the copy I have of the idea book, but no idea where that idea book is atm. Likely can't even reach it.
  15. Thats a shame, would look great in anyones collection for sure.
  16. All small ships were pretty weak designed for their size, but i guess those ships were budget class ships
  17. Without a doubt BSB, it's a lot more powerfull and likely faster. Also it looks more realistic which is also a good thing to have, but that doesnt really say if its powerfull or not
  18. @Sebeus Iniwum Think you mean Set: 6274 "Caribbean Clipper" (Year: 1989) OR Set: 6271, "Imperial Flagship" (Year: 1992). Both are good candidates to suit the role, althought i fear both are already a little to big to manouvre quickly enough. Both can use 2 cannons on the same side of the ship though, which is a good thing. But using the tactic I said would be very hard to do. @Runamuck Actually the ship in set 6277 is unnamed as well, yet big enough to have it's own name. oddly enough it's the only trade vessel ever made, both for Pirate themes as Castle themes. The flagship was supposed to get a name for the LEGO MMO, but they scrapped the idea so far I know. So there must be still a name around
  19. unfortunately my mom used it to light the fireplace with So i'm affraid I can't help much in that. Those things were pretty much the same as newspapers, same material, same style. So easy to use for a fireplace.
  20. Showing mud, hmm... well I could see if I can do something in that. But for scenery, what exactly do you mean? What is missing in your eyes?
  21. 9 Volt: Set: 10027 (2x) Set: 10133 (1x) Set: 10170 (1x) Set: 90003 (1x, kan me vergissen met een van de andere versies) Set: 4512 (1x) Set: 4511 (2x) Set: 4514 (1x) Of course extra engines and track, but unfortunately 9v sets are no longer sold officially. Besides that I can not afford much atm either
  22. In the idea book (set 260, 1990) there were supposed to be a few named pirates but got later scrapped like all other text. Or that's what I read in some old LEGO magazine around the time the idea book was released. But yeah, rumor or not. It still doesn't count I guess since it was not released. Nor the names were pulished.
  23. The smaller ships may have just 1 cannon, but can easily out manouvre a ship that size. Even in speed they can be faster if you modify it slightly to carry more sail. Stick behind the Imperial Flagship and just shoot up the back side, it's never going to turn that fast and kill the tiny ship thats attacking
  24. a ship that is pretty much shot up before the battle isn't doing much good in a battle to start out with. But besides that, Red Beard Runner also has less fire power and less minifigs (has just 1/2 a bow minifig, where the Brickbeard's Bounty has a complete one). Besides those things, I just find the Red Beard Runner lacking in design. I do want the ship in my fleet, but then modified and all fixed so it actually can do something
  25. great for parts, but personally it doesn't really do much good for the name it carries. Which is a shame
