Sounds good to me. Rivendell is a not too live up to, but this is showing progress towards that. -

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
RichardGoring replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Agreed it likely won't come back. Just pondering really. I wasn't too attached to it really, and would prefer something more interesting at a later date. Curiously, people on Reddit are now saying that their orders with the mimic GWP are now showing the GWP as being cancelled, with someone saying that it actually sold out after 30 minutes. Not sure how they know, but kind of shocking really.- 686 replies

Just had time to get online and the Mimic GWP has gone already. Wow. I was on the fence about whether to order now, as the eyes are the only exclusive part, and I think I prefer others anyway, but that's a shame. I wonder if they will release more on April 4 for general release, or if that will be it? At least I can wait until a more enticing offer to buy comes along.- 686 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
A recent (Mar 13) Pick a Brick Standard order arrived yesterday. On the main order page of the LEGO website, the status is 'Waiting for Stock', but if you click into the details, the Standard order shows as shipped. Going through it this evening, I've found two of the items are not there. They're on the LEGO website order, but not on the printed inventory with the pieces. Which suggests they will send out the missing two pieces when they get stock. I'm really surprised at this, as I didn't think they sent things until the complete order could be fulfilled, as has happened to others here. But I'm fairly sure I've had this at least twice before since the switchover, with sometimes just one or two parts arriving on their own. Very curious. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

That's true. I placed two orders on the same day. One of them had piglets that were cancelled, and that order is still down as 'in warehouse'. The other one had no parts cancelled, and that's marked as shipped. -

Oh wow, that's impressive. My standard order from March 13 showed as shipped the other day, but I thought it must have been a mistake. Good to know that it may be accurate! Can't see anything on USPS yet though. The updates they made to the service have clearly, hopefully, made a difference. -
Looking at the other side of it, the 'lack of popularity' for (some? all?) Friends sets amongst AFOLs means they are more likely be still available on clearance. I found 42605 Mars Space Base and Rocket for 40% off in a Walmart the other week and was thrilled, as I think it's both a fabulous playset, and a great looking setup. The white/orange/purple colour scheme is really nice.

A cape would look great on that figure! I would love pink on the inside and yellow/gold on the outside. -

Part of me thinks it's a shame there's no new moulds with the alien tourist, but it's really fun and probably my favorite. I also really like Orion. Nice concept and execution. -
Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just gone back through the set lists and it seems likely that the gorillas will appear in the $100 set with the jungle base and helicopter. I don't need another City rescue helicopter at all, so Pick a Brick is probably the way forward. Just got my polar bear and cubs order in last week for similar reasons. What's the smallest sensible number for a troop of gorillas? It's going to be expensive!- 5,948 replies

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Interesting news. I wonder if we'll ever get the back of the box for any more angles/features, and if the high res photo will help to make the MOCs more accurate. -
The 'official' status doesn't really bother me that much - a good model is a good model as far as I'm concerned, but there is clearly a huge amount of work that goes into refining sets that are released widely by LEGO. I didn't realize that the BDP would be working with the building instructions team, which seems to be a step up from the 2021 series. Even in that though, some were excellent, as good as any in-house LEGO set, while others were a little unstable, or inefficient, or some other small niggle in comparison. I thoroughly enjoyed them and I'm glad they exist, but I don't want them to be a replacement for sets produced in-house by LEGO. They should exist in addition. Bring on round 5 and hopefully more pirates/imperials are featured.

I really hope they don't rely on BDP for castle and pirates sets. I like a lot of the designs, and the creators are clearly incredibly skilled, but official LEGO sets often provide a very joyous building experience, along with a robustness of model that makes me much more confident when my children are playing with them. Perhaps most importantly though, as there are no new prints for the BDP sets, we won't get some of the elements - especially torsos - that help to provide greater diversity in the settings. Also, no chance of new moulds to support a wider range of designs, but perhaps wore is the limited parts range the designers can use, so no chance of recolours, or even bringing back out of production pieces, all of which official sets can do. Still glad they exist. Somewhat disappointed that it seems mostly castle in round 4, but I do like the designs.

Is it just me, or has the (not out of stock, and being cancelled from orders) piglet dropped a lot in price? It's showing as $0.77, and I'm sure I would have ordered a bunch of them originally if they were that price. Also, just noticed that dual moulded legs are a lot cheaper than they were. I feel like they used to be over $2 each, but now variations of part 77601 are from $0.86 to $1.35, and then one for $1.86 (6490255) that doesn't have a picture, and isn't showing up anywhere else? -

Just had my Pick a Brick order from the other day arrive (Bestseller elements) - hurrah! The bag has ripped in the box and the contents are loose - hurroo! The job of sorting through them all to see if things are missing begins. Sigh. But excited to build some alternatives of Tales of the Space Age when the Standard parts arrive. -

Oh, that's a shame. I ordered a couple of calves and piglets the other day, so I assume they will be cancelled too. I already have two of each, and it was only two more of each, so not that bad, I suppose. -

It looks great in the life style shots. I wonder why they did the large tree in black, but the smaller trees in brown? The blue/purple roof and the red/orange dragon are really nice updates to the design as a set, although I can also appreciate the original, especially with the dragon wrapped around the tower.- 686 replies

The figures look great. Now that I see the set on a larger screen, the courtyard space seems larger, especially when you count the studs, so that eases my fear about it being too thin. I like the updates to the colour scheme. Even in the initial thumbnail pictures, I liked how it all sits together and the impact it has.- 686 replies
