Is my opinion too. Few weeks ago I was talking with few friends who jumped into technic and where looking for alternatives for powering the MOCs and I strongly discouraged them to do it by BuWizz. I feel sorry, but this is my final opinion after many opportunities and absolutely squeezing my patience.

I tried many configurations already. I got one working but went south when found that I had to update the bw with the latest firmware. Now, I have another -known- issue that's that when I start driving, the steering turns abruptly and loses the center. The gearbox doesn't work at all. All despite correct calibration.

Thanks!!! I also found a bug in the updated up (didn't have such problem in the previous version). I'm driving a model with 2 bw3 units, gearbox, steering and differential control. The driving and the differential control work just fine. The gearbox and the steering have no problem for the calibration, but once I try to drive the model, those controls are dead. I re-made the setup and restarted midweek and app few times, but still the problem persist. Any idea? Many thanks in advance!

Powered up app, last version.

Indeed, I turned them on, with no change. Now, before answering, I re-tried and found that everything is fine! Thanks a lot! -
Hello! I found out that in the last version, the powered up app misses most of the functions. Moreover, in the PDF many fonctions are described, but most of them are absent in the actual app. Has someone any idea dice when this is happening? Any idea how long will last? I heard some time ago about about a roadmap for powered up, bit I don't find anything clear about that... Cheers, H.

I think the set is cool. Is really big and seems fun to play with. The price is also cool... But not for that set. For me this set is a no-way. That's not the type of Lego set that I want from Lego, therefore, even being insignificant, I won't feed the idea for TLG that I'm ok with the direction that goes with these kind of sets. For me TLG is the heavy tow truck, the Airbus... Just to mention few of the last ones. Those are a demonstration of how fun and cool a Lego set can be! -
Pybricks Q&A
HectorMB replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm not quite familiar with all this stuff. This is indeed my first attempt off expiring programming in python. I started with Pybricks , but I have still a huge amount of info to understand! ;) Yes, I went through the article and also contacted Anton. Apparently the communication is possible at this moment through the Lego app, but not yet possible using Pybricks. -
Pybricks Q&A
HectorMB replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, I got my LMS-ESP32... but I found that, unfortunately, the connection between hubs and a ps4 controller is only possible -by now, at least- using the Lego software, but not PyBricks. So, I'll be patient if that changes with time... ;) You can control several hubs at the same time, indeed. Just use different tabs, controlling one hub with each one. -

This is what I often think about expensive sets. As you pointed out, the price tag is now reaching a limit that makes cheaper to just buy the extra pieces and build it by your own. One year ago, when the where retiring the 42100, I just got a second one (second hand) just for the pieces and electronics. That set is indeed known to be among the best (if not the best) in terms of electronic's costs. For me, the set looks interesting and I would love to build it, but the price is completely out of my limits. -
For me, TLG in terms of everything related to programming is a dead end. It's a real pity that they end like that, but as you pointed out, it's just impossible to move forward. The retirement of the Mindstorms line was just the signal to move into Pybricks. They're still limitations, but it way better way to program your stuff.

This is nice! One set more in not interested in to buy! Nevertheless, I'm curious about the pieces list. For me it's still an incognita how they reached that price tag. Moreover, is surprising that we're getting at the same time an excellent set, such the Audi (lots of new parts, nice looking and a more than reasonable price tag) at the same time than this one, which, unless there are some news, is overpriced. -

Besides stating the obvious and what it has said thousand times, I think that Lego is doing as Apple, pushing up the prices to reach the highest point, since it would most likely be the highest profit as well. On top, as also said before, besides all our comments here, in terms of business, TLG is doing real good. For me, apart the loss of nostalgia, this is good news. I have a collection (mostly made buying from second hand) which allows me to build a huge number of MOCs with, maybe, buying some spare pieces, and most importantly, have really fun. The new Lego sets are interesting... to see the instructions and learn new stuff, as are most of the MOCs!. So, for me, this is good: Lego seems to know how to drive the business and keep it alive, which means a regular outcome of new pieces, which is what interests me the most, because it will keep also alive the community. -
Pybricks Q&A
HectorMB replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks again! I'm not experienced with the language and I might have missed something. What intrigued me in first place was that the Mindstorms app has indeed an option to make a program including control via a ps4 controller, although I didn't try it (Yet). So, it might be that it can be done but going through a PC, tablet or smartphone (which at the end would make the role of the hardware such LMS-ESP32). So, I'm pretty sure that Anton is right and the only way to do this is with an intermediate hardware... Which can be the LMS-ESP32. :). It still intimidates me as I never jumped into something similar, but I guess there's always a first time! :D ps: a LMS-ESP32 is on the way... -
Pybricks Q&A

Thanks, it looks que interesting indeed. Nevertheless, i guess the main limitation, which makes the LMS-ESP32 necessary, it's because of the technic hubs. Nevertheless, given that the TLG MINDSTORMS app already allows the connection to a ps4 controller, the Mindstorms hubs should be able to connect without any add-on, right? -
Pybricks Q&A
HectorMB replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello there! I did a little search but unproductive, so i leave the question here: is possible communication between hubs (with Pybricks firmware) and ps4 controller? If not, there's any plan to add this feature in the future? Thanks!!! -

Thanks! Using the new firmware it's pretty stable now. I'm doing now some test so each unit is indeed sending and receiving information (will see if I make it work!). But pretty happy now! Thanks a lot for the support!
