Quest #58 is really looking to be great Sandy and all!

Welcome back, Jebs! It's always a pleasure to see the ol' boys return.

"Well spoke, ranger! Many people create gods out of nothing but imagination!" Being called out for the quest, the elf maiden departs from the hall, leaving me standing at the table with the undead. The bald raider gets up, clearly frustrated that he lost the argument. The fat knight gets up and spits at the quest board dangerously close to where my name is. Clearly, he has not been chosen! "Ah well, all is well that ends well." I take my seat at Eric's table again. "You know you have been called out on the latest quest. I would advise you hurry now before they think of replacing you."

Good grief, Guts is going to get Lifestealer to WP: 50 long before anyone gets close to claiming the Pitchfork of Domination!

"Do you believe that gods can be created? I'm sorry. There are so many questions before I answer, because it is a very vast topic, so I want to make sure we're both on the same page as to what we're discussing before we begin the discussion. And it seems you've been called out on a quest too, with Eric no less. Who is this 'Guts' fellow. By the name, I would figure it's the undead himself." Wish I could answer more, but I've got to run.

"Mind your own business! What do you mean I keep rambling on about underground creatures. I haven't mentioned them since I was discussing with Nerwen. I find it odd that in all that I said to her, you latch on to that particularly. Do you perhaps, have some affiliation to them? Or worse yet, did you perhaps create them? Honestly, though, you hardly seem intelligent enough to do such a thing. And what do you know of Daxus? Did you quest with him? No you did not. Don't speak on matters you know nothing of!"

"Oh, you are clever,"

Hey, Arthur is not the only one who knows everything about everyone. It's fantastic seeing the amount of people browsing the Heroica forum.

"I do not fight for sport or for vain glory or pride. I fight when the need arises, to protect mankind from the likes of you and the brood you associate yourself with. I don't understand how fighting will prove which God is stronger anyway. "But if you want to engage in competition then it's cowardly to choose the field of competition where your own talents lie. You are a man of war and live to kill and loot and rob. If you want to have a contest, why not see who's god will answer our prayers for a sick person's healing? Let's see who can heal the sick without the use of potions and the like. But no, you are not interested in doing such things. You only think of yourself and your own pride, vanity, and purse."
-
"Rogues!" I mutter. I turn to Nerwen, "See what the hall become when this crowd start calling it their home?"
-
"No, my name is Monk Pretzel. I'm aligned with the forces of right, so no "de" negatives can be used to title me. And who are you?"
-
Funny, it's dark where you and it's bright where I am and yet we are in the same room. Are you hiding in the closet or something? Oh, I thought you people were talking about Alice and Jordan, because Alice was being discussed at the time.

"Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Before I answer your question regarding my 'type of monotheism,' I have to ask you one thing myself: What is your definition of a god? "I trained under 'The Miracleworker' as he called back in earliest days of Heroica. At the time, I had been warring with the paladins against the orcs. It was a remarkable time then, when Heroica first started, but it did not last too long. I was called away on a quest helping a country far, far away to recover from a drought of many years. It was one of the hardest tasks I have been given. But it was that time in that land that I was able to think clearly and, if you will, 'discover God.' I was there for many years though, and when I left I dwelt for a long time in other lands going from temple to temple and monastary to monastary, but always being rejected for my views. It culminated when I put up my 99 pieces on the temple doors. Apparently, the priest did not see the truths derived from the message therein through the symbolisms, and he ejected me from the temple. It was then that I realized that those with the truth will always be rejected by those who fear the truth and what it may expose. Since then I have lived the life of a hermit before I heard that Heroica had been opened once again. I came myself to discover whether or not it was true. That was over a year ago now. Since then I have freed a village from the terror of a demon and his ilk attacking it, I have rescued the Bank of Commerz from the 'beings of ether' that had overturned their vault, and I have rescued a man and his son from the evils of living a life of wizardary and sourcing. By the end of it, he had become a slave to a staff he created, and he attempted to steal the mind of his son and many others, but we destroyed the staff and cured him of the evil spell."

I'm not really sure if the case is stronger against Alice than it is against Jordan, so I'll keep my vote where it is. Babs, you sure do sleep at funny times. Why not wait until the night to sleep? Unless you're going to be up at night?

Thanks! I rarely, if ever, open the 1st Page of the Hall, because it takes so long to load.

Where do we keep track of our reputation? I noticed some people put it in their statistics, but most have not.

Uh, oh! Jordan's going all " " on us. That is never a good sign. The only people at this time that I really feel worthy (if you can really call it that) of being voted for are Mary and Jordan. The arguments against them are not convincing, but we never have much to work off of day one. I think Betty made a good point that if Mary really is a evil thief and did lie about her passenger number, than likely enough the truth of the matter will return to bite her in the future, so for that reason, I think I may just. Vote: Jordan (Tamamono) I don't feel strongly about this, but then again I don't feel strongly about much. What's with the nonsensical voting. I'm sure you know that it's against the rules that Admiral Bob laid out to vote in this manner, so why do you do it? He may have accepted it before, but no reason to push your luck. Oops, and it seems like in all my talking I forgot to bold my vote. Vote: Jordan (Tamamono) Although, from a second skim, it doesn't seem like Bob actually demanded that we bold our votes. I do have to agree with Thomas that Mary's absence and quietness is rather disturbing and unsettling, and despite it being somewhat typical of her, still it should not go unnoticed. I still think though, that if she really is a thief who lied, then her slip-up will backfire on her. Maybe I didn't read back properly, I don't know, but honestly I don't see how you come to these ridiculous conclusions. And if you're basing your vote against him on his saying that he had no number, than that seems pretty ridiculous to me. For all we know, Admiral Bob may have forgotten to give out numbers and then added them to the PMs later. Of course, there is the possibility that he forgot to give them to the scum team, for one reason or another.

"Monk Pretzel," I reply. "I appreciate the advice, although it is not new to me, I have suffered much at the hands of those who blind themselves to the truth of monotheism, and attempt to blind others while they are at it. "I would also give you a warning of my own, that you must be careful and watch the way you speak. Giving credence and ear to beings that are raised or created unnaturally and unsupernaturally is dangerous. Do not take a dark path for your life. I hear the veterans are making necromancer an "Expert Class" or "Master Class" or something of the like. When these things seem into Heroica it proves that Heroica is just a building ready to crumble and it only holding up because of the strong foundation it was built on. Even now one can see heroes living selfishly and going on quests to fill their pockets more than to help others in need. It is a sad state indeed. Back in the day, such heroes would not have been permitted to set foot in the hall, but now...it seems everything goes. "Tell me, elf, have you met one, Erik? He's a barbarian by class, but a kind-hearted one."

I'd like to see a witch roll "Mirror" in an incredibly easy battle where the enemy's special is to flee the battle. Wasted XP!

"Though I don't feel that you are worthy of receiving an answer, I shall give on for the benefit of others. We are not bitter against you, we are opposed to all who can't think for themselves and who are just a body with no mind, heart, or conscience, operated by some mage or necromancer in some location, not unlikely far, far away. Even you can't deny that undead are mindless zombies suited only to the desires of those who wish to corrupt others. Not unlike a certain creature that I fought against some time back in the commerz cavarns. "Beings of Ether" they call them. Bah humbug! Man cannot create minds that think, that gift only comes from God. A dead mind cannot be revived by the wishes of some mage, no matter how powerful they may be. Face it, undead, you are not thinking for yourself. Clearly, though, the mage or necromancer operating you will not allow you to see that, so arguing with you is pointless."

Yes, I realized, which is why I added this:

Hmmm...I seemed to have confused two of your names. All of you look so alike. I think if we were to all shave our heads, we would not be able to tell who is who. Anyone want to try and see?

Wait I thought Thalion won. Why does Alexander need to help him up?
