  1. Hydra soldiers and a Red Skull figure would have been great (maybe if they somehow re-appear in Captain America 2 :P). I had hoped that the Captain America set would have featured these guys on their bikes, rather than the aliens.
  2. Keep dropping in here and checking the updates. How can we get Eurobricks behind this?? I'm a castle-buyer mainly but would buy a set like this if it was made. Would love to see a chunky drop-ship with pilot and marines if that's in the works?
  3. Bigger picture For sale: Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Hagrid as pictured. Good condition. Hagrid's face is a bit messed up under his beard I'm guessing due to an enthusiastic former owner. UK only. £16 (+postage).
  4. This is cool.I like that you have tried to stick to a theme. I think the figure might look better with the mechnic hair from s6 CMF? Just a suggestion. Had a look at your other cars and really like the 'Speed Racer' vibe (that's a good thing) especially the PQ one.
  5. When did they admit this? I thought the general concensus was that the picture and wording, although shabby, is similar to other internal lego emails (from where this information and image were sourced). Whilst I have no proof myself on this time will tell if TLG release an official statement (some would hazard a guess at an announcement at the UK's AFOLCON in May).
  6. It'll be over a year between announcement/vote and release, which seems like someone is dragging their heels (especially when they are already designed and have the moulds etc). Must be difficult to make sure official announcements and release dates are staggered so as not to effect other sales. If these Olympic figs are released in the UK at the start of the summer, I'd imagine the 'VIP' figs perhaps mid summer? (Before LOTR sets in August?!)
  7. They're interesting, and nice to see up close. The quality looks good. I've always had a slight problem with the overtly female torsos, especially those that could be used for either gender. I've never really seen the point of TLG printing a curved waistline on their female figs, it's not like the minifig is accurate as it is (height, joints, hands, proportions etc). These are great for customisers, but I really hope TLG don't seperate their figs or reduce compatibility further by doing this. The bonus parts are a nice gift!
  8. What comments are you linking to? As I've been following that thread and this one and still can't make up my mind. Either my estimations of TLG have gone down, and their internal emails are poorly worded and sloppy, or this is an incredibly elaborate hoax.
  9. I guess series 8 has been locked away to create some excitement for these. Now I'm not saying TLG wouldn't or isn't bringing out Olympic CMFs, but until there is an OFFICIAL announcement (ie not a badly worded email with grainy picture forwarded on) I remain a bit sceptical. Just a few too many things don't sit right. Or perhaps these are just prelims, as some of the design and part usage looks 'off'.
  10. I see you've learnt some good building techniques for building the tower. I also like that you've thought about playability by adding in the opening roof. I like the pit monster as well.
  11. What's a casual witch?? In jeans and a t-shirt :p I'd love to see some old people (could re-use the sumo topknot but in grey) more fairytale characters (a new apple mould that fits ONTO a minifig hand would be great), a pirate with printed parrot (or any characters with new/different animals) a bride of Frankenstein with the classic tall zig zag hair, and a cowgirl (with wonder woman lasso?).
  12. Supporting this might actually get me to register on cuusoo. A theme like this would be a great fit for a missing lego space theme (Star What?...:P). But didn't anyone tell them... the guy in the red suit always dies first!
  13. I think whatever they might do has to be obviously distinguishable from Star Wars. There's probably a contract somewhere that says TLG can't do anything too close to Star Wars ideas in case kids get confused or something. This must make coming up with fresh but different ideas a challenge for the designers. Retro-space (Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, steam-punk) would be great but probably wouldn't appeal to kids. I'd love to see something with the new space marine figure/armour (it's already been used on a Lex Luthor promo fig so they obviously have the mould). As someone suggested you would have the explorers, the marine protecting them, then maybe an update of Blacktron (of which there have been 'nods' to in the CMF and SP3 figs). If this all got too dull then you just throw in a major threat like giant space bugs... and everyone clubs together to fight them and save the galaxy.
  14. They look very much in danger from an attack by marching through a narrow ravine like that! The army looks great, the custom capes (and flags?) work really well.
  15. There's been an African-American Captain, and a latino spider-man so you never know. Back to the review. If this set had another 'hero' character, or even a recognisable villain then it would be pure win. But I just get the feeling a lot of these aliens are going to get thrown to one side. For the price, I think the wolverine set is better value (3 characters and a helicopter). As good as Captain America looks I may hold out to see if he crops up in a better set, or this one is on a major discount.
  16. Well the Shaun of the dead pub model has reached 10,000 over night... Looking forward to seeing TLGs response... They've done zombies, but is a set based on a cult 15 rated movie a step too far... If so will also be interesting to see how they wriggle out of it and subsequent backlash. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7451
  17. I've a MISB copy of the Battle of Hoth board game. I know it isn't available in a lot of countries so would be willing to ship it internationally. Looking for £24 (+postage) preferably. Thanks, andhe EDIT: SOLD.
  18. Someone posted this link over on the facebook Heroica fan site:http://www.bbcw.com/product.php?productid=23560&cat=&page=14 The description for Ilrion says: "Coming from Lego. Heroica is a new series of exciting adventure games that can be played seperately or combined into an even greater game experience! Continue your adventure in the world of Heroica with new heroes, potions and treasure. Its up to you to locate the Catacombs, fight your way past the vicious bats and lumbering zombies, and defeat the vampire lord to rescue the king! This release features: Lego Games - Heroica Ilrion. 2-3 players. 240 pieces. Ages 7+ SKU LEGO3874 RELEASE: AUGUST 2012" So that confirms details of the monsters being Zombies (which obviously ties in with the Catacomb theme) and a vampire Lord! Remains to be seen what the extra game mechanics will be (potions, traps and the giant bat thing!).
  19. I wasn't expecting to see such a huge display when I clicked on the thread! Looks like great fun, so much going on! I also like the inclusion of updated 'classic' castle sets (forestman hideout). Great work. Makes me want to build.
  20. This is fantastic. I'm not a massive Harry Potter geek, but even I recgnise the details from the films and you've contained and combined them well within the limit of the baseplate. The microscale builds are very clever, the challenges hidden underneath make this go from a great build to a superb one!
  21. Is the wizard's invite to the poor little orpan boy inviting him to Hogwarts and a world of adventure. Wait, sorry I'm getting confused, that's Star Wars isn't it :P
  22. They look nice, but still seem to be inconsistent between box art and others pictures (mainly Urukai Army) the figs printing seems to change? Wasn't interested in that set originally, but depends whether they armour is printed or not. Weathertop is still looking the best, for parts and display, IMO. So it's a shame they made one of the higher price points.
  23. Old mermaids or POTC mermaids? (I'm guessing old actually, as never seen licensed parts in BAM, but what about now that the Ocean King has the same mould? is it now un-licensed?!)
  24. I'm still holding out hope for a proper barbarian type fig (conan style, big sword etc). I think what you have to remember is that when it comes to designing these figs the designers will be looking for classic characters or archetypes/stereotypes that people will recognise. I think this is why in every series people are able to say "I suggested that one!" because in reality, the designs are classic ideas of recognisable characters. Whilst I don't think castle type civilians as you mentioned fit into this category, characters such as a medieval bard, or renaissance actor, King, Queen, or other non-fantasy 'fairytale' type characters (eg Red Riding Hood/Grandma visitor) could be made.
  25. Yes the leg design printing extends round the sides, but I'm guessing not the back of the legs. This was the case with the series 6 celtic warrior and roman. Let the hunt begin!
