Lego City 2026, Leaks, Rumours and Discussion
Powered by Bricks replied to Izzynufc-2's topic in LEGO Town
If it does it'll either be a pain or an interesting idea. All of the Star Wars SB Sets are going to be sold in 6 countries only, I don't wish the same to happen with City. As for new power functions components, how about a rechargeable hub for a change. Or a return to 9v? Those old school motors were great for shunters and small locos. I'm not sure about the possibility of having a shunter for the cargo train, at least if powered up stays for the summer trains. My guess is a loco close to 60470 if it uses Powered Up. I'm curious to see that size of loco being used in a regular train. -

Probably more than a coaster, I hope. But it's obligated to have a volcano! And what about the eletrics/power functions ? A Freight Train having those components and costing only 100€, is it possible? Same goes for the Steam Train. Funny how LEGO is doing a lot of train releases nowadays. -

100€ Cargo Train? Interesting... Classic Tram, is it based on the old-school trams, or something close to the 2010 tram? Lava Land seems promising, curious how the City Crew handled a Theme Park design. So the Pizza Set is an Actual Pizzeria 60512 is looking like a limited release. So it seems the 2026 rotation of trains gave us a twist: An affordable Cargo Train and a classic passenger train. The wave overall is packed with less expensive sets. Great! However I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how can they release a 100€ Cargo Train. And how big is the Steam Train gonna be? (Last year's Holiday Train has 800-900 pieces and look at it!) 2026 overall gave me the most of hope ever, many sets that I've been longing to see actually coming?! Are they listening to us? -

Really confusing wave this one: 2 Different Releases in a week A new tram. And a steam train?! Man I would sure hope to see anything close to those 2000s locomotives lego released separately. Now will this surprise train have power functions? Or track? Given it was codenamed as a vehicle instead of a train. These codenames are all confusing. That "My City" pizza set either gets called a vehicle pack or a pizzeria with delivery vehicle. Is it actually a building or not? Now just remains that one set for each Subtheme. Any guesses? -

A smaller cargo train perhaps? The piece count is surprisingly lower compared to March's Police Train. Odd that some of the sets are late may releases and some are June 1st. -

If we end up having at least a set with the new Smart Brick we might get an early reveal of said set. But most probably we'll see a description of most sets on Instagram. But at this rate we might get the official reveal of 1HY Sets and 2HY Set Names at the same time. Edit: Reveal season came early for some themes, hopefully City gets the same treatment -

If it is indeed a sideways-loading recycling truck, I'm curious if it's going to be wider than usual. Considering it has some kind of working mechanism to collect the waste. But if it is something remotely similar to a flatbed container transporter I hope it atleast carries the 3 usual containers. Unlike the previous interaction from 4 years ago. I have a bad feeling it'll be of limited distribution. Considering it's later name reveal with lack of other info. -

One question : why city? The idea sounds neat, but the gig might not perform well for the target demographic. Said thing might just return to its roots, that being Icons. If its modern: City it is! I Old and Classic: Icons or Ideas If it's city we're talking about, I'd like the idea of a Jungle Explorer Train, with more rugged scenery and tougher vehicles. -

I'm tired of the new wheels, good on trucks and larger vehicles, not for cars or small vans -

So Four Trains available in a Single Year? Woah! So lego hasn't completely erased the OG variety. So far we have Airport Coast Guard LEGO Truck Hot Rod Taxi Airport Fire Truck Trains My City Return And Great Vehicles For Both Halfs of the Year. 2026 is stacked! Also not much police And no kiddy fire sets to be revealed. -

I'd thought of something with the same texture as those air pumps we had back in 2010 racers sets. Hope we eventually get a flatbed tow truck, not as a racing car Transporter but an actual addition to the vehicle rescue line. I'm hoping for a bigger backhoe loader with a functional rotating seat. -

Hope we get an average bus aswell, I'm not sure how they would handle the articulating part. But its a pretty good idea that lego is not trying to do for a long time! -

With all these news it's interesting and(a bit ig) refreshing for both January and June Waves, My City return is long overdue. No exploration is interesting (F for the Animal Die-Hard fans) Trains in Both March and June? Interesting aswell. I'm curious if great vehicles includes more than just jumbo trucks and construction vehicles. I guess there's a possibility of us seeing a August-September Wave. Possibly including those beta test Jungle Sets as LEGO is supposedly wanting to release several smart brick sets. However said possibility is none other than pure speculation. There's also that 8+ set that hasn't any tag or subtheme, possibly a d2c town plan? -
Hmm interesting, seriously hope lego does this soon, they brought back airport and coast guard. About time to revive our dear cargo line-up.

What makes you think that? I know we've been getting a lot of artic sets but it's not understandable to have a new airport be on the artic. What actually amazes me is the fact that the remix sets is bigger than the other flagship sets, but cheaper. Also there's info on the summer sets but nothing much besides the numbers and age recommendations. -

Not to worry it isn't 2020 anymore! Currently the Big Passenger Plane Is still planned to stay in 2026, and might get it's retirement date pushed to later. In Post-2022 City we now know anything is not exclusive to a big set anymore, and there's more standalone sets for additional vehicles. It wouldn't make sense to release another big plane when they can market 60367 as a fine add-on to this airport. The airport might have a 6 stud wide plane with all these new parts we've seen recently. My theory is LEGO doing a uno reverse to the 2010 airport lineup: having the smaller plane in the airport and sell the big plane separately. Besides LEGO already tried selling us a really small Airport and Huge Plane and it didn't sell that well. -

Now that’s a nice idea for a brand new theme, why can’t LEGO ditch the Partnership gimmicks and the action themes for a while and give us a Train Theme. -Wider range of Non-Licensed Trains for Collectors while kids can opt with City. -Possibility of giving back the choice of several locomotives, tenders, cabooses, wagons separately. -More Variety for Tracks? Personally I’d love to see such theme giving remakes of older train sets such as the metroliner -

Taking a more serious stand on the topic of trains for the new City, I doubt we'll get steam trains in this theme, they're selling well but for the Older Age Range. We've got quite a few in the bricklink desiger program sets and Ideas aswell. Considering the ideas that are coming from New Gen City, we might get... -No Limits Stunt Train(like the Trains Used in The RedBull Videos) -More Exploration Trains I doubt we'll see any other kinds of trains as these are understandable twists to cargo trains. Ambulance Train or Fire Trains Might not be the greatest ideas for quite a Pricey set. Keep in Mind The Tower Set featured a lot of crazy ideas, but isn't selling well considering it's price. These must be Parent-Wallet-Friendly and follow catchy ideas for kids. -

Train Police Confirmed for 2026!? I think it’ll be a similar concept to 60198 but with actual police vehicles. I’m curious to see the new twists given to trains. If anything I would see a Jungle Train, or animal rescue train. How about Passenger Trains? Any twist ideas? Now about the Smart Brick, where do I find the info saying it’ll be featured in the train? Possible sign the Jungle Sets end up appearing in shelves for March, according to a rumor on BrickTap -

That’s what I was thinking the 2024 harbour was going to look like! I want to see both a 7994 remake and a marina but separate sets. -

Might be related to either coast guard or airport (theory) if it is a street plan kind of set, I'm all for it. The 2025 buildings weren't it, just sets that depend on vehicles to serve their purpose. Last street level set we got was quite pricey (60380), given that parents would prefer to give their kids a more wallet friendly option, a budget remake would be interesting. All I could think to see besides a standalone set is somekind of Coast Guard Headquarters or an Airport Hangar or an AirCargo Terminal. (When I say "think" is more like *wish) These might get a rework and appear as the March Lineup (or end up in summer?). OR Jungle might get the 2025 Artic Treatment and get bigger sets, instead of the test sets. In that case we might get a more generous bit of scenery :), this is possible as the big boy from Jungle 2024 is leaving shelves by 2026. I believe we might get more ocean explorer sets and more ocean related animals in city form as Jungle and Ocean weren't exactly bad when it came to their sets. Hope to see more desirable and less repetitive comebacks of sets for the summer. -

Airport and Coast Guard return!? My prayers have been answered! I have to say the wave seems promising and fresh, most of these sets haven’t been around for a while. 10€ HotRod, 20€ actual tractor, standalone taxi, Lego Van, Big Cement Mixer, January Airport after 20 years. Many great additions Curious about the “Rides” gimmick. Nice that even though the Airport and Coast Waves are short they feature the necessary and feature actual variety compared to 2020. Hope there are more sets of this kind for summer. Possibly a sign of hope for the return of the Cargo Subtheme? Both harbour and train are set to be gone by 2026, maybe we’ll get a line where you can combine a cargo train with a new cargo harbour. (Lego seems to be taking the feedback about the past sets and their mistakes so it could be a sign) Edit: There’s a set from a knockoff company that resembles what I wish to see in a Cargo Line here -

I would say it would be something like this: -Police- -Helicopter Chase -Police Dog Unit -Mobile Command Center(new tractor trailer style) -Fire- -Fire Boat -Fire Engine -Fire Helicopter -Construction- -Road Roller(big scale) -Exploration- -Possible release of the interactive jungle sets or possible expansion to the Deep Sea branch of explorers? -Great Vehicles- -Tractor -Space- The usual? This is more of a theory considering the currently available versions of the sets mentioned are going to be discontinued. I personally hope we actually get more buildings, a new hospital and harbour would be neat. I hope they don’t drag the space theme too much. A police station is uncertain to come as the brand thinks a outdated and practically incompatible police station is the one set they needed to keep producing. -
Not related to these recent discussions, but could we Fairground/Theme Park subtheme? In the current decade we’ve got 1 set for both themes (60313 and 60421). Currently the Theme Park sets are part of Creator 3in1 but Fairground hasn’t technically been part of a theme. One of my favorite sets ever is the 2014 Fairground Mixer and I sure would love to see a City version of it.
