Lego City 2026, Leaks, Rumours and Discussion
Powered by Bricks replied to Izzynufc-2's topic in LEGO Town
If it does it'll either be a pain or an interesting idea. All of the Star Wars SB Sets are going to be sold in 6 countries only, I don't wish the same to happen with City. As for new power functions components, how about a rechargeable hub for a change. Or a return to 9v? Those old school motors were great for shunters and small locos. I'm not sure about the possibility of having a shunter for the cargo train, at least if powered up stays for the summer trains. My guess is a loco close to 60470 if it uses Powered Up. I'm curious to see that size of loco being used in a regular train. -

Probably more than a coaster, I hope. But it's obligated to have a volcano! And what about the eletrics/power functions ? A Freight Train having those components and costing only 100€, is it possible? Same goes for the Steam Train. Funny how LEGO is doing a lot of train releases nowadays. -

100€ Cargo Train? Interesting... Classic Tram, is it based on the old-school trams, or something close to the 2010 tram? Lava Land seems promising, curious how the City Crew handled a Theme Park design. So the Pizza Set is an Actual Pizzeria 60512 is looking like a limited release. So it seems the 2026 rotation of trains gave us a twist: An affordable Cargo Train and a classic passenger train. The wave overall is packed with less expensive sets. Great! However I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how can they release a 100€ Cargo Train. And how big is the Steam Train gonna be? (Last year's Holiday Train has 800-900 pieces and look at it!) 2026 overall gave me the most of hope ever, many sets that I've been longing to see actually coming?! Are they listening to us? -

Really confusing wave this one: 2 Different Releases in a week A new tram. And a steam train?! Man I would sure hope to see anything close to those 2000s locomotives lego released separately. Now will this surprise train have power functions? Or track? Given it was codenamed as a vehicle instead of a train. These codenames are all confusing. That "My City" pizza set either gets called a vehicle pack or a pizzeria with delivery vehicle. Is it actually a building or not? Now just remains that one set for each Subtheme. Any guesses? -

A smaller cargo train perhaps? The piece count is surprisingly lower compared to March's Police Train. Odd that some of the sets are late may releases and some are June 1st. -

Until now there are no factions, on the train set it's clear that it's just a duo of thieves trying to free their partner behind bars. We've got factions before but this doesn't seem to be the case. In 2020-22 we've got the Fendrich Goons/Henchmen In 2019 we've got the Ravens/Crows for the Sky Police. Ever since it's just simple and quick storytelling. The decal might just be there for decorative purposes and make the vehicle feel less bland in colors. Personally I get vibes off KillBill and GTA V with this set. -

Well Mr. Produce was also in the Advent Calendar, so that doesn't quite make sense, but It's true about the rest. -

Oh boy! I wish I could buy some those sets aswell. 2023 House, 2022 Supermarket and Station have gone up in price in the second hand market, it's uncanny! But for the rest, I don't regret missing those as I recently bought most 2nd hand for dirt cheap. (60308 for 7 euros and 60329 for 13). I'm curious to see if there'll be any kind of remake of some of these sets. And Fun Camping? I'd say the but only if they're not as expensive as they were before! Those used to cost an arm and a leg! -

Well whoever led the team in summer 2023, that's the one we need. 2023's My City was a stacked wave of buildings. I don't think My Limits themed sets are what people want, Am I right? -

Chris Stamp was the lead for Speed Champions and guy behind the 8 stud wide cars. He gives the vehicles more detail and strength. As to Simon he did introduce the new police style and fire department color scheme, but his main focus is on playability. I do agree a few sets looked weird, mainly the Harbour, Tower and Fire Station. But no matter who’s the guy behind what. I find it odd that now there’s no actual vehicle with license plates, it feels out of place. -

No, he’s the guy behind the Monkie Kid theme. -

I know City is taking a new approach to the way they handle past sets and don’t think immediately of replacing them, but I don’t have such high hopes for a long shelf life of the newest fire station. Weird Design of the structure and barely any space for the land vehicles. The Police Station wasn’t made in this new era and a replacement is long overdue, no matching color scheme and not much compatibility between other police sets. Fire Station is set to retire in 2027 and the police station in 2026. And who’s Simon? Simon Lucas is the Creative Lead for City since summer 2023, the head of the team. -

Well that's guaranteed! The theme didn't disappoint with the airport, hopefully it stays the same for whatever comes in June. I'm thinking if a new hospital drops next year, medical vehicles keep releasing and perform well. Last hospital was also part of My City (which I assumed was dead ever since June 2022). A new City Center or Town Plan could happen as well, nothing shows that the design team is looking to ditch older common structures, a possibility as well? And a new workshop or car garage. Stamp said the Scrapyard supposedly matches with the Tow Truck but I have my doubts. Might happen in 2027, probably under the coast guard subtheme. Hopefully it gets the airport treatment of focusing on the base and not the vehicles. A new harbour might happen as there's signs of several flops in this new era of City. As far as I'm concerned, the Harbour, Tower, Scrapyard and Train Station were flops. Don't think they'll try to release anything to pair or connect with these. Hopefully next time it's a proper harbor and not a mix. Wouldn't that be better: standalone harbour and standalone marina? -

Personally I couldn't care less about soapbox or rides. I'd prefer to see more of the cheap great vehicles than goofy ideas for 10€ racers. -

Sorry for any American as my knowledge is quite bad when it comes to trains but does that train loco resemble quite a lot an American Cargo Train? Well the set does look nice, it's just unusual to see such set feature this kind of color patterns. Good amount of vehicles and train is still big and has the usual amount of wagons. F1 Truck ain't bad at all, cheaper way to get a transport truck, and car looks nice aswell. Hopefully tomorrow's the big reveal day! -

Really weird to keep that set on shelves. About recolor or reboots, I'm not sure. Nothing has shown the need for a reboot, and the City team is trying to end the easy replacement of subthemes and sets (look at all 2023-2025 explorer sets). Hopefully the next station is bigger. -

Personally I'd prefer a 7743 remake. The problem with 60139 to me is the bad use of the computer area. -

Not sure, I only got the names thanks to Brickmerge. Well no leaks this time I guess? It's quite boring and annoying that we got the list so early but the images so late. I need to see the Airport and Coast Guard ASAP! Personally, current police is very unbalanced. On one hand, the colors they picked are top-notch, their releases are less frequent. and some models are really good looking. On the other hand there's a lot of weird vehicle designs. I guess everyone wanted something more like 7288? When it comes to the design team in general I like their take on the development and upgrades to certain classic subthemes and sets. But I for sure hate their other main idea, the playability, which they(designer team) claim is the reason why we got the Tower set. It ruins their charm and aesthetic. Why should the city counterpart of the Ninjago City set be a kiddish mix-up mess. Couldn't it be anything closer to 60380? -

I recently saw the second interview and oh boy! There is indeed hope for what’s to come, given their tactic to improve everything. However I still can’t believe the Tower Set was supposed to be the city counterpart of Ninjago City. It sure is nice to bring back older subthemes/sets that haven’t been touched for a while. Curious to see their take on regular trains and the airport itself. Hope we see add-ons to the current vehicles. They said the Tow Truck is tied to the scrapyard but we could sure get a new Workshop. Hospital as well given the huge amount of medical vehicles we’ve been getting recently. This is just a theory but there might be a possibility of us having 3 more sets in August. Seeing the following pattern: 2020-Elite Police 2023-2k Racers 2026? And keep in mind the current style of sets(and new head designer)started in Summer’23. -

If we end up having at least a set with the new Smart Brick we might get an early reveal of said set. But most probably we'll see a description of most sets on Instagram. But at this rate we might get the official reveal of 1HY Sets and 2HY Set Names at the same time. Edit: Reveal season came early for some themes, hopefully City gets the same treatment -

If it is indeed a sideways-loading recycling truck, I'm curious if it's going to be wider than usual. Considering it has some kind of working mechanism to collect the waste. But if it is something remotely similar to a flatbed container transporter I hope it atleast carries the 3 usual containers. Unlike the previous interaction from 4 years ago. I have a bad feeling it'll be of limited distribution. Considering it's later name reveal with lack of other info. -
