  1. That's really weird, but good to know - loco runs just as bumpy as in the videos I have seen but seems to operate well, aside from the last truck derailing at high speeds without anything attached to the loco. What a beauty!
  2. Thank you! While I got the same result at first, it's now updating the firmware - did not do that at first, and now it's rolling! Thanks alot!
  3. Just build it, but I can't seem to get the Powered Up stuff to work - it said online that my S7 was compatible, but if I try to connect the hub while Bluetooth is on, it says the hub, bootloader is it's name apparently, blocks the attempt. Every other method gives me blinking lights and a display of the hub with a 0% image behind it, at which the hub shuts down and won't turn on again. Is it broken, or am I stupid?
  4. Ordered mine around 5 am and will get it tomorrow or saturday, but apparently I got lucky.
  5. Nope, you have to add them from your collection or buy them seperately. Would be really, really cheap if these were included.
  6. While the old one about Lego vs. other brands is one thing, I feel like it should be mentioned that Bluebrixx as a company is facing one lawsuit after another for selling sets with pirated licences or knock-offs, and 'sets' that are basically stolen MOCs. What I read on the german forums the quality also seems to be far below that of Lego or other brands, but I think one should know about this kinda stuff before spending money. That being said, really interested in the book! Already bought one from Holger Matthes and it's a nice read, even though outdated.
  7. Ahh, thought of a different one but these two should work better. Thank you!
  8. Could you perhaps link to the part or give me the... well, official name, if one can call it that? :D not too sure which part you mean, though I have some in mind. Also, Pdaitabirds idea with the steps sounds nice as well, should look good and accurate.
  9. Really nice build - and in my opinion, a difficult prototype to a) recreate and b) look good, since it's well, not the prettiest car :D Great SNOT on the ends, I really like how you managed to both recreate the doors and have them hold the panels. Great job, and great detailing!
  10. Ah, now I see it - good job hiding that one! Barely noticable. Just to give another opinion regarding that one - I bought an SBrick a few years ago and it changed everything I build. Really, really recommend it, though there are alternatives out there that also look nice, especially BuWizz.
  11. Nice one! Looking good, I do have some special appreciation for 5 wide hoods, not easy to work with. But I wonder, where did you put the battery box? Or is this one intended to work with some kind of slug engine that would house the batteries?
  12. This one's most likely based on something like the SBB De 6/6 or the DR E 94 - locomotives that have been named crocodiles, but usually, the term refers to the SBB Ce 6/8 II and III. Others are crocodiles too, but usually, when someone's talking about a crocodile loco, it's one of the two. That being said, while the one from 7898 is a crocodile, no matter what it's based upon, it's an extremely simplified version of one - even the much more accurate 10183 is very simplistic compared to what we'll get with this upcoming one. Besides, the other main color of crocodiles actually is, or rather, was green, albeit a darker one.
  13. Yup, you're totally right. Mistook the for the other as it seems.
  14. Based on the pics here: And what I found via Google image search, it sure looks like it's the hub that became available today. Nevermind - now that I took a closer look, it does appear to be the smaller hub with two ports, I apologize.
  15. Not too familiar with the Control+ or even Powered Up stuff, but as far as I know, you need a Smartphone or a remote to access the hub. Without one of these, I don't think the hub puts out any kind of signal to the motor, so nothing would happen - but someone correct me if I'mwrong, really uncertain about this.
  16. According to the thread about the Osprey, it does include a Control+ hub as well as a motor.
  17. Sure looks like it. Gorgeous vehicle from what can be seen, not a technic guy but I'm happy for those who are!
  18. Well, PF and my SBrick it is then... to be honest, I expected something more and maybe more... usable? than the new motors and the hub. Outside of Technic, the big hub is unusable due to it's size, and with the smaller hub two ports is just barely enough for bigger engines, at least in my opinion. As soon as that's not enough, Lego does not provide a suitable alternative. But that aside - considering the Croc is supposed to be motorized with just the motor and a hub, does that mean the set will include all that is needed in regards of gears etc. for the motors? Shouldn't be too difficult to just use PF instead of PU then, as far as I know the dimensions are almost or exactly the same.
  19. Hello, and welcome back from the dark ages! :D A nice day to you too!
  20. Thanks @leafan and @LEGO Train 12 Volts for the hearty welcome! I love diesels just as much - building a DR 81 and a EMD SD9 right now, strange combination but two lovely engines!
  21. In my book, the guys at BMR are one of the most important resources for the Lego train hobby, first thing I thought of when I read this thread. They also sell their axles ready to use, 14$ for four axles plus shipping sounds a bit more costly than what you guys here came up with. I will keep on following this thread, eye-opening so far!
  22. Thanks a lot for the welcome! Already lookin' forward to get insprired and share my MOCs. That is, once they are finished, if I get to finish them :D
  23. Hey everyone! I'm from Germany and after a bit of reading as a guest, decided to join what appears to be a great community. I'm mostly into trains, preferably 8 wide, and Architecture - but aside from that, basically anything that catches my eye. I'm really looking forward to having a good time around here! Greetings!
