This is exactly why I honestly doubt that Gringotts will be excluded. The target audience for a $100 "Escape from Gringotts" play-set next year will be totally different from the target audience for a $400 display piece this year. LEGO would prioritize play features in that Gringotts set, which wouldn't give them enough pieces to make the set look detailed enough to stand alongside this year's set. Especially if the dragon is included - that'll take up 300 or so pieces by itself, leaving around 700 to do a detailed exterior, interior, and roller coaster. It would also require some explanations from the designers as to why it was excluded this year. Also, I think people are overestimating the number of pieces required for the different shops on the sticker sheet. The Daily Prophet has a door sticker, but I doubt there will be much behind it (at Universal Orlando, it's just a locked door). Florean Fortescue might only get a cart (since there's no signage, just a menu). Scribbulus will probably be combined with Ollivander's (let's say around 700 pieces). F&B and QQS likely won't require more than 500 pieces each. WWW will probably be large, but no more than 1k pieces. That still leaves around 2k pieces to give to a potential Gringotts and Leaky Cauldron. Based on this, I really wouldn't rule out anything yet.

Nope, this is the book description: "A little man in a top hat was talking to the old bartender, who was quite bald and looked like a toothless walnut." Making him a hunchback with a creepy face was a directorial decision, which drastically changed his appearance from the PS film.

I can see this. Regardless, it's exciting to think that it's certainly no more than two weeks away
-
Is that offer still available? I don't see it on their website.

Welcome to the forum! I also found it during lockdown and I'm glad I did . I was just looking into places to order the full set, and I found this tweet from Minifigure Madness last week that said they'll have a full box up for pre-order soon. That would be 60 figures, not just the 16 unique ones, but I'm assuming the per-minifig price will be cheaper.

If they call it "Diagon Alley Shops" (like the tiny 2001 set) I can see them not including Gringotts. But I'm with you - they wouldn't leave it out if it's supposed to represent all of DA. ESPECIALLY if it's partially supposed to represent Harry's first trip (based on the minifig leak), as the Gringotts scene is a huge part of that. From a product design and marketing perspective, it makes no sense. Anyway, I agree with others in saying there's no point in arguing further about this until we get more evidence or an official reveal.

It really doesn't make sense to leave Gringotts out. Most fans who buy this won't do so on the condition of an expansion next year. It's not like a modular set - for $400 it should stand alone as the definitive Diagon Alley. And without Gringotts it won't be.

Not a win for my wallet though

Tomorrow would mark 3 weeks to the day that the VIP question form went up. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it's not out of the question!
-
Yep, just looked at my old pics from Wizarding World of HP and confirmed that
-
Fair point, but it's also there at the Wizarding World of HP so there's a chance that was looked at for inspiration.
-
Wait....is Gringotts not gonna be included?
-
The main DP office is located in Diagon Alley though, so you never know!
-
https://giphy.com/gifs/paul-comment-ron-5mBE2MiMVFITS Flourish and Blotts included too, so Lockhart is almost definitely going to be there!!
-
Daily Prophet office??? RITA SKEETER?!
-
Haha that's fair, it would probably make me upset too
-
My goodness, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you typically spend on LEGO per year? (Not judging, just genuinely curious!)
-
Wow now I've never wanted something more than this
-
Fair, I only figured it was worth bringing up because I thought they actually leaked the Star Wars figures from Mos Eisley Cantina and implied that they had a source.
-
You might actually be right, lego_fans_news_ (the same person who leaked the "Muggles Are Our Friends" poster so not sure if they're 100% legit) says they think it'll be leaked this week.

I really want to keep boxes for the higher profile sets (DA for sure), but I'm probably going to start by flattening the other ones as you did. It'll definitely take courage to throw them out because I'm a completionist (I like having the set/box/manual for my sets), but I know one day I'll just say screw it and throw them away too
-
Random question because today is a slow day - do you guys keep your boxes? The boxes for my HP sets have started to accumulate and I'm wondering if I should just toss out some of the smaller ones.

Wow, people here really weren't kidding about Zavvi's shipping speed to the US. I ordered the AT on Wednesday and it arrived today
-
I'm glad that they didn't make James and Lily look very old (at least judging from the pics we have). Seems like they can actually pass for being 21, unlike the film actors.

While the character selection isn't what we hoped, the printing across the board is top notch. Looks like a lot of characters have dual molded legs too.
