  1. Good question Damn, you are making this hard Let's steer clear of biological entries or entries that mimic biological entities.
  2. I have been thinking about this and I do think we can allow "robotic arm" like models.
  3. Yes, I think it does violate the no animal rule.
  4. Okay, here is what I would like to do. Let's go for: NON-VEHICLE/NON-ANIMAL STATIC MODEL. So no walkers etc. By static I mean it does not have a form of movement as the result of an engine. You can build an engine though. Agreed! I will alter the rules accordingly. I have seen your MOC before btw. Awesome creation! I have altered the rules. My apologies to the people who already started to build something, but I think these changes make sense: DESCRIPTION Build something that is not a vehicle, having some interesting functions or mechanics. Animals are not allowed (we will save that for another contest). You can build machinery and mechanical stuff etc. As long as it's not a vehicle. Furthermore, the model should be a static model, so you can't build models that are able to move itself from location A to location B using an engine. Vehicle: A thing used for transporting people or goods, such as a car, plane, truck, etc NOT ALLOWED Animals Walkers Drones GBC
  5. I don't mind changing that rule, but I am not sure whether people are already building animals. Please respond if you object to ruling out animals. Otherwise I can alter the rules.
  6. We are lenient when it comes to hoses, so you are good. That's why we won't allow it hehe. Just kidding of course. What we are trying to avoid is people making a fantastic System built model, with some Technic functions. The emphasis will be on the design of the model, instead of the mechanics. I do agree that for this contest it might be different. I would like to know other people's opinions on this matter.
  7. We can creatte a dark theme which won’t affect the Pirates theme. We simply can make a separate theme.
  8. We have never enforced illegal building techniques. That is true. But you make it sound like all models are always full of that? Is that the case? To be honest; I don’t really mind. The jury will decide whether they like that or not. No trailers.
  9. I might take you up on that. We are always looking for people to help out. We will be upgrading the forum software next year and we were planning to change the main header as well. If we can create a light and dark mode version that would be great. Any html/css skills? Or just Photoshop?
  10. I don’t care how you get them in place. We’re not going through an elaborate inspection process.
  11. No rollercoasters. No illegal building techniques.
  12. This comes to mind. It feels like your example is still some sort of moving vehicle/model. We are aiming at household appliances, animals, mechanical contraptions etc. We should probably aim for something stationary, except when it's an animal.
  13. Let's not do GBC. I will include it in the list. We had a separate contest for that.
  14. Don't worry about stuff like that. The non-licensed rule was predominantly introduced to avoid people making branded vehicles which would be rated higher. So, nothing to worry about.
  15. Not sure why the non-licensed part would affect your list. Non-licensed means you cannot brand a car as being a Porsche or something (in case of a car competition). You can still build a Porsche like model. Just like a VTOL Helicopter vs an Osprey.
  16. I removed the non licensed part from the rules. You don't need to worry about copyrights if you are building a model for this contest. It's not like you are selling a product.
  17. It does give me a bit of a headache though. If you can't make a mech, but instead you call it an animal... Not sure where to draw the line.
  18. Yeah, we need to set clear boundaries. I am thinking along the lines of "not being able to move itself, except animals". But that might be too limiting.
  19. By the way; I have been thinking a bit about the example of the four legged mech from the videogame or anime. What is your stance on this? I don’t want this contest to turn into a mech contest. That is not what I had in mind? Like to know your thoughts. Somehow a mech feels like a vehicle.
  20. If you all need more time for this contest, I can close if by the end of February btw.
  21. Absolutely. That is the kind of model I was aiming for
  22. Nope they are not allowed. Those are vehicles. Lol I will remove that line. You’re good. Yes it is. I will add it. Strange this wasn’t in the rules. Thanks Agreed! Drone is a difficult one. But I will explicitly state that a drone is not allowed. Depends on the model. An Ornithopther is obviously not allowed, since it’s a vehicle.
  23. TECHNIC NON-VEHICLE CONTEST - DISCUSSION TOPIC Better late than never, but the winter is coming (for most of us), so let's find something to do. This was actually the topic I had in mind for the first contest I hosted. At the time TLG requested if we could to a triple build contest (this was TC2). After that I never pursued this idea....until now...finally...TC28 DESCRIPTION Build something that is not a vehicle, having some interesting functions or mechanics. Animals are not allowed (we will save that for another contest). You can build machinery and mechanical stuff etc. As long as it's not a vehicle. Furthermore, the model should be a static model, so you can't build models that are able to move itself from location A to location B using an engine. Vehicle: A thing used for transporting people or goods, such as a car, plane, truck, etc NOT ALLOWED Animals Walkers Drones GBC VOTING CRITERIA Voting will be 100% public voting, but the votes will be cast on an external website and won't be visible during the voting period. The voting criteria are (in no particular order): Quality of the build. Functionality. Originality. Looks (shape, color scheme, etc). DEADLINE Deadline date is February 24th, 2025. Contest will be closed on Tuesday the 25th OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the deadline date. Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following section describes the contest specific and general rules and regulations. But before that, please take notice of a simple motto regarding the Eurobricks Contests: CONTESTS ARE FOR FUN! Of course there's competition, but at the end of the day, LEGO is just a hobby and the main goal for each of us is to have fun! CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS The entry needs to have a name.
