  1. They have all sorts of nice display cases, but shipping the NL/BE makes it a bit expensive. Still very much worth it though.
  2. Mine is original from Porsche. It's very expensive, but I got it because I was jury member for the contest. Can't find it anymore in the Porsche webshop, but I think it was 250 euro (very generous of TLG) But this is a very good alternative. Pure display makes all kinds of cases: http://www.puredisplay.com/pureshop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=4776
  3. To be fair....treads suck when it comes to playability. That's all there is to it.
  4. @Aventador2004 Following up on your post in Technic Photography; what are you learning to code?
  5. That would add lots of other performance issues. Bandwidth, disk access, etc.
  6. Integrating in the forum will be quite tricky (for me). I know a lot of programming languages, but I have successfully avoided PHP Let me see what I can do with my code. Maybe I can make a standalone program or give you access to my web tool.
  7. A simple converter cable will probably do the trick.
  8. You succeeded! Nice picture indeed! (very minor detail; if you center a model, make sure you equally crop all the edges. Makes it's even better.) For me reviews I have written a piece of software which let's me select the pics and the display size. It then generates the code to display the pic in the smaller size and link to the original one. Saves me a lot of time. 9. That setup is definitely more logical than the current one
  10. That's the uncle is was thinking about. Can you ask him to take some pictures I'll settle for a poster pic! (if it's not a poster with the four wheels)
  11. We have full confidence that you won't take any pictures yourself....but "someone you know" did take some
  12. Let's end this discussion and get back to the Chiron set. Thanks.
  13. I'm with you. Really looking forward to seeing some pics.
  14. Cool! What is officially? Do you have a link to a source or something? (Probably toy fair, but I'd like to see some actual info)
  15. True. True. Not sure. I agree a Ferrari would have been a more logical companion, but I do like the fact that TLG has chosen this very special car.
  16. Actually, I don't think that TLG uses CGI for the box. At least not the model. Background probably yes, but the model is an actual photo....with lots of editing.
  17. Off topic: I have been very busy with other stuff, but my fingers are itching to get cracking again.
  18. This is exactly how it works. I don't think we really hate the Porsche. I was pretty critical in my review, but to be honest....I do love the Porsche now. It's sitting on my desk at work in a display case and every day I can enjoy it. We simply expected it to be more than just a blown up 42039. Therefore I hope that the Chiron will give us some unique parts to make it a real LEGO Supercar. If not, I would still buy it. No doubt about it. So, yes, I am thankful, but we are talking about a 350-400 euro set, so one can be a bit critical
  19. I do think TLG will provide some special/new things. Would surprise me if they don't. You, and some of us, were disappointed because you expected more. 99% of the other people simply think the Porsche is awesome. There were people disappointed with the Falcon as well. Probably the same people who were in line to get it on day one. People complain, but want it anyway. That's how luxury products like these work. Don't get me started on the BWE
  20. This pretty much sums it up. At least, that is what they did with the Porsche. Maybe they will surprise us with the Chiron.
  21. I don't think the price will be an issue. We are quite critical when it comes to sets like these, and we were somewhat disappointed with the Porsche. But the majority of the buyers (customers) think the Porsche is THE best Technic set ever. Or at least one of the best. More or less the same with the Falcon. Loads of people complaining about the price, but the queues were bigger than we have seen at Apple stores. Point being; the set will sell, regardless of it being more expensive than the Porsche.
  22. Now. The voting topic will open tomorrow or so (need to find some time, very busy today), but you know the drill, so you can already prepare your list.
