  1. Hmmm, that would definitely result in wheels falling off.
  2. The what?!?! Welcome to EB btw. Like Alan said, can you post a picture? Sure you mean the wheels?
  3. In essence I think one is allowed to protect his IP, of course. Especially when you have created a unique MOC, building instructions, etc. But we are talking about a generic picture of a pullback motor, which has been released by TLG and not even by TSG. Therefore I find the tone in his first post rather aggressive and over the top. He could have played it more lightly and we would have had a laugh about it. I would even have credited Splat for the magnificent image and I would probably have added a link to his Youtube channel or something. Because that's how I roll. But that's not how keyboard warriors roll. They fire up their engines and go on a rampage, while sending me and Milan a PM would have been the most logical course of action. However, this is not even the worst part. The worst part is, that he is claiming to have all sorts of rights, but in the meantime ignoring one of the most important copyright protections TLG has, the 2x4 brick and the Minifig (Hispabrick had to change their logo because they used a minifig head, just sayin). So he is bashing me for using a picture on a fan site, in a contest for fans, which will only cost me time and money, while at the same time ignoring a major rule enforced by the company who brought you the pullback motor to begin with. This just doesn't add up. And to be clear; I pay for building instructions and I have never sent them to anyone else. I have paid for all my eBooks and I pay montly for my TV series. I even pay for icons and graphical assets, to be used in my websites are apps. So yeah, I play by the rules. But sometimes I do grab an image from the internet....yes I do that! Do I make money out of it? Most definitely not. Do I use them to promote my business? Most definely not. I don't even have Ads activated on my Youtube channel, while I have over half a million views. You know why I haven't activated them? Because I get sets from TLG to do reviews and for me it doesn't feel right to make money of something I got for free and I don't want to bother fans with Ads. Because that's how I roll. Half of the world is at war, the other half dies of cancer, so instead of focussing on mundane issues I like to focus on the positive things in life. So yeah, I am making light of the situation
  4. Ahh of course, the not-quoting-images-rule already negates the copyright issue. Makes sense
  5. Thanks mate! But last night we already stopped the production facility to replace the artwork with non-copyrighted versions. I do have a question about quoting images though. Is quoting a copyrighted image allowed? I want to make sure, since we might need to revise some of the EB guidelines.
  6. Yup. You have to be very careful these days, even when you spend endless hours setting up contests, sending prizes, using your own money for the community....without getting anything in return. Admittedly, being bashed for something mundane is rewarding enough though On a sidenote; I'm looking forward to seeing Splat's new logo, since he will surely do what's right too!
  7. Already done We don't want to get in trouble with The Splat Group
  8. We are proud to announce new Pullback merchandise. The shirt is made of 100% slave-free cotton and no endangered species have been sacrificed to produce the mug. Both products are produced in child-labor-free countries and no pullback motors were hurt during the process. And again.....the original image was just a placeholder in a temp topic. Since I was very busy, Milan published the topic. We both didn't think of replacing the image with an actual promo image. Nothing more, nothing less.
  9. What I am wondering, is why @Splat is getting all worked up over a simple picture, yet he is using a Minifig in his logo, while it's very clear that this is not tolerated by The LEGO Group. https://www.lego.com/en-MY/service/help-topics/fun-for-fans/behind-the-scenes/our-company/commercial-use-of-lego-products We can't allow the use of LEGO copyright materials such as brand names, logos and trademarks like the 2x4 brick or the LEGO minifigure for commercial purposes such as promotional campaigns, marketing and PR. This also applies to items such as building instructions and parts. For more details, see our Fair Play policy. When I visit his Youtube channel and watch a video, Ads are shown, which makes it a commercial activity. Apparently the rules don't apply to him, but they do to others. I can only assume he has explicit permission of TLG to use their Minifig.
  10. I'm sorry, but you know me. I can't live with lies. Keeps me awake at night. I already had my doubts to begin with, but those dollars man....those dollars!
  11. It's probably better to come clean, since we have been busted anyway. @Milan and I have been quite busy selling copyrighted merchandise over the past couple of weeks. We figured we could get away with it, but apparently what goes around comes around Edit: image removed
  12. Actually, it was just a placeholder, but I forgot to make a proper promo image.
  13. Or course, it's a different matter when you are actually making a living out of something and/or it is costing you money. If not...why bother.
  14. My Porsche pics are used in a Facebook ad. And you know what?! I don't give a crap. I have more important things in life than to get frustrated about it. Focus on the good things and don't waste your energy of these kind of futilities
  15. Thanks Jopie. It's failry easy. We don't allow Lepin conversations in the regular forums. We only allow it in Community, but Lepin vs LEGO has been discussed many times. So there are better places for this discussion. I will hide this topic in a bit.
  16. Cool! Great we've got that settled. Time to move on The Porsche wasn't flawed. It was intentionally designed incorrectly and working improperly. (Do I need some sort of emoticon after this sentence?! Not sure how that works)
  17. Nice work @JunkstyleGio (and @Pas_de_nice of course). Would be great if the Chiron actually has something similar.
  18. Amen brother. I would have been happy to see some pictures, but to be frank; it doesn't bother me at all. We'll see. Patience probably comes with age
  19. I am not aware of such statement. I know they changed the photography rules and this change would be useless if there weren't any models. Welcome btw! Ahhh. Cleared that one up. Thanks Allan.
  20. Problem with the old site is that they display ex VAT prices. So it's the base price PLUS vat PLUS shipping. This adds up quickly. This is the link to their new website. Prices shown including VAT. Boils down to the same of course, but it gives you a better idea of the pricing. https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/display-cases-for-lego/lego-creator/42056-porsche-911-gt3-rs-display-case/
  21. You mean at the end of your post? Nope. But you can create a fixed footer, like I have. PS when you have 10 posts, you can start sending PM's. At that point people might send you some prelim image
  22. You from Lord of the Rings?! Welcome to EB!! Hi. Welcome to you too. One comment though; thou shalt not ask for leaked images here on EB (that is frowned upon)
