  2. now more official: http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=176&itemid=15565 don't know if there is any new info.
  3. When looking trough the new Prinse of persia sets I thought that Sheik Amar or Asoka their heads would make a good Sallah. I was wondering if other members have good idea's to make 100 % purist versions of the main characters lego didn't produce. It really bugs me I don't have a Sallah and Colonel Vogel and I don't want to wait until the 5th Indy movie cmes out and Lego starts producing new sets. As always, the videogame is a great inspiration, so I used some pictures of the game as reference. Lost Ark Sallah + Sheik Amar or Asoka head + + Major Toht + + some black suit torso? + Temple of Doom Maharajah Last Crussade Sallah Sheik Amar or Asoka head Brody + + Colonel Vogel Donovan If anybody has good suggestions, better ideas, fire away. Pics are from this site
  4. How many people exacly bought that white helmet? I have the impression he's keeping his numbers low to keep the impression that they are rare.
  5. Solaris the original one by Tarkovsky or that remake? I saw parts of the fisrt one, man, heavy. I know the Sovejet government "accidently" burned the tape because they didn't want it to go out, even thou they gave the permition. So Tarkovski just shot the entire film again. Pulp Fiction is actualy one of those movies which gets better and better after you see it a couple of times, just like some classic Simpson episodes (but they have nothing in common). George Lucas steals/ gets a lot of inspiration from other movies. I saw a revieuw/ comparison of Indiana Jones and same old adventure movies and the resemblance is somethimes amazing. Same actualy goes for Tarantino, he just tries oud old classic movie stylles ion the Holywood screen. Not that I mind they do that, but it should be mentioned more, people thing they invent new things when they are just reinventing existing things. But they do it in a good way, that for sure (exept Attack of the Clones) Goodfellas is indeed a bid to long, the drugs part is a litle to mush, but its not an ending you expect from sush a movie, so in a way I think that is good.
  6. Seven Samurai is good, but really hard to sit trough, since it's just old and has a slow pace which we are not used to. Paul Verhoeven Watches this movie evry year to remember what good (action) movies are. You should also try Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress, it's a lot like A New Hope. Goodfella's watch the first 5 minutes and you'll want to see the rest. Pulp Fiction, I'm not a Tarantino fan either, but this movie is really really really good and fun to watch. You can never catch up on all the movies you need to see, so skip the old outdated films and go see Pulp Fiction. my list,of classics I want to see and can remember: 2001 a Space Odyssey Citizen Kane Casablanca A Bout de Soufle. I try to do a classic now and than, just need to take time for it, I've really seen a lot of them, the main problem is that girlfriends don't like to watch this old borring stuff. I also try to avoid watching bad movies. BTW, there are some really bad movies in that IMDB list. Not that I mind, but there are some good ones missing which could take the bad ones there place. The list is just to mush made on current hype. (saw 96 of them).
  7. Great work. This is the scene which made me an instant Star Wars fan as a kid. you just gave it the same overwhelming feeling. Maybe you should also try to take pictures without people or any other stuff in the background, just a black curtan or something.
  8. Interesting discussion. But indeed a film doesn't need to have a story, interesting you bring a Tarantino film up in the same discussion. I remeber Pulp Fictio not having a "story" either, still, it was a great film. Inglorious Bastards was cool, but not great. The ironi is that the only oscar went to the a character which was in my point of view the main character instead of a side character. But he deserverved it non the less. Anyway, the Oscars are a commercial way to celebrate Holywood itself. I don't care who wins them, I'm just happy when some people expect an Oscar and don't get it eventualy.
  9. "only" 3 Oscars. This will be a good lesson in humility for James Cameron.
  10. His expression is very good. I've been trying to make a descent Major Dutch and I can't get his face right, mind if I borow some inspiration. BTW, did you tried it with a black hairpiece?
  11. These watches look so adult. You will probably be the coolest guy at the office if you have them on your wrist.
  12. But he's actualy right, the plot has to many holes in it. The directing and and visuals make up for it, but they wont do that forever. Give the movie a few years and it will slowly bore people and people will regret they had a tatoo. Just like Lord of the Rings. First the hipe was huge, but now, there's isn't that mush talking about it anymore. Friends of mine who bought the DVD's never rewatch it, because the movies are to long and to boring half of the time. Before we know it, the avator toys will be on sale. To know if a movie can surpas a hipe you just need to check the kids, and all they want is Clone wars. It's to bad that a guy who did make timeless classics like Terminator 2 and Aliens fell in to the Holywood trap.
  13. The same reason I don't read any Marvel or DC anymore. At the end of a comic, nothing actualy happened. But I always wonder what the kids think about these comics, they must really suck trough there eyes. When I do want marvel or DC, I read Spiderman Essential or everthing from Tim Sale and Jehp Loeb. Irecently started reading Usagi Yojimbo, Frensh translation in manga format, normaly I'm against translations, unless it's Japanese, but Usagi works good as a Manga and I can imagine the writer intented the comics like that.
  14. His Luminara was very good aswell, Ki Adi Mundi was easy, it's the one from the videogame, just like Kit Fisto. But they do look good. I found a pic of the Cad Bane I did: The face is very similar, just a litle to high, but it's painted by hand, not factory printed, so I didn't realy get a second try. I gave him a brwon cape and Indiana Jones his hat, but it doesn't really work that well. You really have to overdo it, but then it becomes less Legoish in my opinion. That is why I never really finished the custom. For a close up of the Lego version you need to do some digging in the 2010 Star Wars topic
  15. haha, seems your lazyness helped you out quite few times, lazyness or creativity...
  16. I have the same, the prices on those are not to high, exept for the Vader, you had to be there early or like you say, need to know some very kind people along the way. Which I did. There's also
  17. Thanks for all the comments. I must say that Shadows makes the most sence, sadly however. I emailed the guy I got them from and asked for some more info. To be continued... PS, Shadows, do you have pics of your differnt colored helmets?
  18. The legs, torso and head are actualy mine.
  19. Hy, I just got a red and white Boba Fett helmet trougha deal I made. But I'm not sure they are really made by Lego. The Green and Silver ones are unpainted Boba an Jango helmets I got a few years back. I know these are the real deal, but I have my doubts about the ones I got now. (the torso and legs are mine btw) For example, the shade of the white helmet is different than the ussual Lego white. I'm not sure about the red helmet, it's the same red, but it has spots. Unforntunatly is't not visible on the pictures. However, the main thing that's got me concerned, is the mark inside the helmet were the stud off the minifigs head goes. The green and silver helmet have a number inside, so does the red Darth Vader helmet. But the white and red helmet don't have this number, they have asomekind of stressmark instead, you can see that the plastic was cut/broke of at that place. (it's also not visible on my picture ) I know that there are red tests, like the red Darth Vader helmet. Red and I presume white are also is good to vieuw details and errors. But the seller also sells the helmets in yellow and black so that doesn't really make any sence. So my question is, doen anybody has more info about these, are they real or not. Old testshots, Some Lego emplye who went nuts on the machines in his free time, or a really good recast? Thanks,
  20. There you were. This looks really good. Han's smile really sutes this diorama. I like how you integrated some characters which weren't really there, it just gives the whole scene some more variation One important comment however, the second rebel from the right his hand is backwards, otherwise, flawless.
  21. As a kid I remember seing Lego knockofs of Mario and some other of his friends. I also remember they had flesh / pink colored bricks and I was tempted to buy one of these sets because of that, but still even then I only wanted Lego, not some megablocks wanabe.
  22. Very cool, looks like a real Lego set.
  23. He sure does look good, but he's a little to detailed to look like genuine Lego. I made a custom myself and the head is really similar, I don't understand why Lego used a blue head instead of a black head.
  24. The Pokémon are really good.
