Was the shine on the kings blade (in the first picture) planned or accidental? Still great :) Neat little MOC, I liked the path leading up to the tower, adds a lot of feel. I think it'd look better with built trees then it does now with the round legotrees. Just try it out, I think it'd look great.

Ok I agree that Ninjas are really cool, but after having read lots of Lone Wolf, Usagi Yojimbo and Vagabond and really enjoyed Kurosawas films, there's something to be said for samurai and bushido. I'll go with samurai! (A ronin ofcourse.)

Oh, it's going to be big! I'm not familiar with the original ship but the referenceshot looked very nice and seeing the invisible hand I understand that you are not jokeing about this The pics of the first parts look very good - I especially like the detailing on the... bridge or something, the top part anyway. It has a nice brickish yet detailed look that I instantly liked, and I like the "bands" over the lower part. I want to see continuos pics of this work and wish you good luck!

Oh, this musket looks great. I think gunmetal would be the color to go, but I await the final product. It's always great to see what's cooking over at brickarms, now I'm just awaiting this and the chance to get a bunch of bayonets for my minifigs, they are all longing for that pointy tactical option.

(I actually thought it was a black telescope piece untill I had a closer look.) Good build! I think I'll even try to build something similar for my crown army. It's not fair that the trolls should have all the cool warmachines...

Ha! When I looked at the first pics I thought "it's ok, but..." but then I scrolled down to the interior and wow, I really like how you did it. I suddenly remembered the scene from the first movie: "remember your training and you will make it alive!" when they made the first drop. Very nice MOC, the interior makes it stand apart from the rest. I can't wait to se the rest of the ship :) (Great detailing like the "straps" to hold the troopers in place when descending. I like functions like that :))

Nice to see better pics of this set. However... I don't really like LEGO's new pig-design. BrickForge made a much better, more "brickier" pig in my opinion - anyone who can show comparison pics? Brickforge version: http://www.brickforge.com/store/images/P/pig_pink_front.jpg

Very nice! I like the look an shape of the buggy, the minigun and mostly the fact that you made some scenery to disply it - this makes the whole much better then if you'd just put the buggy on a table and taken the photo. Great job. I'm inspired to build something similar too :)

I like how it seems like it's not just vehicles with the new sets, but some "bases" too. Even as a kid I liked a cool base for my minifigs to stay at, but I've noticed that kids nowdays are all about vechicles. But maybe not all of them, since the small pictures we've seen so far actually looks like a decent explorer-base. I'm looking forward to better pictures later this year.

Atually, I've never bought a single Bionicle-set but I might reconsider with these, the legs look great and just maybe its possible to integrate in other moc's. I'm staying positive and I'm curious for more info and pictures.

Great review Sir Dillon! I still think that many of our choices would be based on nostalgia, but isn't that ok? I think of the use of magnificent when it comes to rulers (first in your list), i.e. it's used after a person is dead. So in retrospect, we think that ruler was magnificent. In the same way I guess we're inclined to dub some sets magnificent from personal experience. (From my part, this comes slightly from a lack of agreement with you on some sets I never owned but ahh, 6074!) Thanks for this stroll down memory lane!

A new corner building. I've just ordered green grocer, but I really wish I'd had the possibility of getting cafe corner... this shop doesn't really look like it's as good, but we'll see when it's available :)

Like Legoist, my first castle set was 375 yellow castle wich was followed by some classic space. However, it was not my first set - the first set ever was the coast guard station 369 http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/0369-1.jpg Since it's minifigs didn't have neither movable arms, legs nor printed faces, I loved my castle and has continued to do so ever since :)

Thanks a lot for the layout/plan, exactly what I was asking for :) Oh, to dream... I really wish for lots of pics and updates, it's a lot of inspiration and fun to see all the great projects everyone keeps embarking upon. I wish you good luck with Port of Brick Royal and the rest of the island.

Commodore, I really look forward to seeing more of this project. I understand it's a massive undertaking from your side so please describe what you have in mind: large/small port, what of scenery/trees/volcano/rest of island/land, town wall or not? I.e, what have you planned? Also, if you have please update your post with some close-up pictures of the fort. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us!

Cpl Nobby looks too human. He's disqualified, remember? If you find a head with a mad glee or otherwise a bit more.. mad, I'd chose that instead. But very nice all of your MOC's. Brings back mlots of memories :)

Fantastic MOC, it has really inspired me to do something similar with my tan and white bricks. Also, the fez (what's the plural? fezes? ) actually looks good when you use it, I thought it didn't look as good in the Indy set. I guess it's all about the setting. I'd really like to see a little more... substantial minaret. Slightly bigger? You could use white corner-wall-bricks as tower base, if you understand what I mean (i know the description is weak). But overall, great and inspiring MOC! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Ohh, pics! I really like the sets for their minifigs and accessories, but agree with previous posters - they're not that great designs... and I fear prices will be as high as for SW and Indy, i.e just worth it for the extras. But... TLC buying licences etc, don't the rest of you still feel an urge for all those sets exactly because they are license sets? I do even though I rant over prices etc. So, feelings go both ways

LEGO Collectible Minfigures Series 1 Poll
Cakeman replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh I hope they will sell them here, so I wont have to get them off bricklink or something like that. They are all great, but I really like the caveman, I could buld som prehistoric scene with that... -
Oh, I'm in or i will regret it for a year: "Grokk finally realized that Santa DID know..."

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
Cakeman replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
I've been really inspired by Captain Green Hair's frigate build, and I'm in the process of ordering parts etc (not that easy, as I try to order from one store only but maybe I'll have to give that up) too even though it's not goint to happen anything all that soon. Just wanted to cheer you all on and thank CGH for the effort. -
Very very nice, many interesting details all over your castle. It's a good thing those comments exist on flickr, or I wouldn't have spotted half of them I really like the 'evolving' idea, and would love to see some decline in the end too! Maybe in between upgrades? Broken down walls with lichen all over them, bandits living in the dark courtyard? I can always hope, thanks for sharing these pics with us!

Shinohara, very nice army! I especially liked the heavy cavalry with their brickforge helmets, please post some more pics of them if you have. They look great! Also, impressive with armor for every footman. The more accessories for the minifigs the better

It's the male collectors gene. I mean.. our parents? Pictures of moviestars and people collected and traded and sorted them meticously. I can see the beauty in just having... a massie army. It doesn't have to do anything, the figs don't have to have any other function - just seeing them standing there in lines, maybe rearange them... ok so we're sick, or what? I wish my army was bigger
