Oh, I see your temple has found a home. There's certainly a lot of action going on. The temple is still the center piece, very nice. It'd be fun with some more trees for the russian deforestationmachine to chop down but it might impair visibility. Thanks for showing us!

I'm in! May the force be with me!

Very nice scene, looks alive and active with all the different minifigs. I can't help but notice quite a lot of them are what seems to be lefthanded... The tree on the castle side of the river looks a bit... oh it's hard to describe, but sucha a large trunk would benefit from more greenery. Trees are really hard to do I think so I have no real tip to provide. Also, I like the use of red for color on the walls. Looks good :)

Thanks for sharing this history of how you did this - you also made me aware of some software i didn't know existed, for wich I'm very thankful :) But very nice touch to write about how things went and how you planned it, besides it looks like a great MOC. Interesting with the odd colors, I'd really like to see some pictures of the actual model that you have started building. Ohh, look - you wrote "to be continued"! So I guess it was already planned. And a short question: my orders from bicklink have so far been ok so I have no prior experience with complaints etc there. How did your vendor solve the color-issue?

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Cakeman replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd really like to see a new line with eithar a) steampunk, but barring that b) a victorian setting will do. Too bad that the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a few years in the past, there would have been lots of opportunity for different figs and sets. Oh well... actually I'm quite satisfied with the new Castle and Indy lines but a Victorian/Steampunk line would be cool. -
Nice, though I agree that the pic is from a bad angle :) I would have liked to see the raked sand, though I can see how you did it and imagine a result. What I like best about the piece is the tori gate, wich seems to slant in the right places. Nice solution just to move the, eh, legs(?) just slightly apart.

Aww, thanks for the comments guys. About the BURP, i know! But it was a great link ISC, thanks a lot. The fact is that I don't have that many dark bley pieces, so I'm aiming at covering the visable hollow studs with grenery or something... but agreed, something has to be done about that part. The windows does look slightly like a skull and it was unintentional, but do you think I should have a skull on the side there? It'd look pretty neat though not crownie-good :) I'll see what I can do and give you a pic so you can judge if it's better or worse. And it turned out like this:

As the title says - Teddy got me inspired to take some pictures as I'm also building a modular castle. Modular is good since I don't have pieces to finish a larger one right now, but landscape is harder to fit in though I have some ideas for later. Anyway: The base of the towers are inaccessible due to heavy use of 2x4-bricks. All my 2x2 are used in the battlements, so there's some 2x4 poking inwards in the towerbases making them not very friendly to figs etc. Maybe something to remedy later, when I get my hands on more bricks. But the large tower has a staircase and some windows: The intention is that it should be possible to rearrange as wanted, and that minifigs still should be able to walk around the place. I'm saving bricks for a gatehouse right now, but I have no idea how to implement it yet. Also, there's no SNOT anywhere so to satisfy others I might have to fix that too. The lower of the two towers is perfect in height for the orcish siegetower, unintended ofcourse. If the crownie engineers had known that beforehand, the tower would have been taller :) Now, since Teddys castle I too have thought about adding some texture/color to the walls here and there. I think it's on it's way. Also, my lack of certain bricks can be shown - green plates for instance, or brown plates as I'd rather had a brown plate for roof on the archeryposition. Any ideas of how I should do the gatehouse?

Ohh, so hard to choose from elves or townsfolk... Who wouldn't want a small set called "market stand" or something with two townspeople and a bunch of foodstuff? But elves... my vote is on the elves. I want more fancy hairpieces and dandelioneaters.

And I'm in too. Roll them dice!

Very nice modular castle. (Inpires me to take some photos of my own, much smaller one) The height of the walls are impressive, and I like the fact that there is room for the minifigs to patrol them. Personally I think that it looks better now that you have some other colors mixed into the walls - it's a good thing you haven't done too much. A castle can look cluttered if there's too much variation, but I think it looks better with then without.

Oh! Det låter ju inte tråkigt alls. Fast det är lite långt fram för att jag ska kunna lova bort mig och jag antar att Stockholmsplatserna blir upptagna snabbt... är det någon som ska passera Linköping på vägen till något ställe? :)

Association for the Advancement of Dragon's Rights
Cakeman replied to Francis Marion's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
How come the mighty dragons always slave under some other race? That the unintelligent ones are is not that hard to understand, but the true dragons? Of course, them beeing powerful and mighty makes all kinds of people attracted to them, because they want to use them to their ends. No normal man can stand up to a dragon but they all have to sleep and even farmingtools are pointy. But I guess that the ones who really want to use the dragons powers to their own ends would say something like "we adore them and want to help them" (like the DragonKnight theme... wasn't there a castle with a dungeon for the dragon and a large gate to let it out?) but really, all they want is to be mighty by manipulating these large creatures. So *how* exactly is this movement ment to advance dragon rights? :) We've all heard Dragonator... -
What faction from Castle do you represent?
Cakeman replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I guess I'm a Crownie fan... they're the most like the old crusaders, have nice colors and uniforms and cool weapons. They will stand fast against skeletons and trolls and rogue dragons with a little help from their allies. Right, I'm inspiered... maybe there will be some MOCing tonight. -
LEGO AGENTS - Mission 1: Jetpack Pursuit
Cakeman replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good review! Thanks Oky Wan. Hmm, although I really like the villain (not just the new arm, I think the color is very... villanous, as all Bond-villains with class have minions in uniforms. It's even possible to fill out their numbers with Exo-force grunts of the same color) I'm not that hot for the agent himself, his uniform... nah. It doesn't even look like clothes, just give the man a suit or some nifty leather. I think I'll try to grab some sets from the agents line just for the new parts (to begin with... MOCs may follow, who knows?) when they are available in stores here in Sweden. Haven't seen them yet, though Indiana Jones just got here so there might be some further waiting for me. Now I want to see reviews of the other sets :) -
Always nice to see a civilian building, and this one looked neat! Cute family those Knutssons, and I'm really interested in the daughters offspring... Interior shots would be great. Does the house have an upper level under the roof? Also, I wonder how it would look if the door was inside an arch or similar (if you understand what I mean...), I always like when there's a little doorway or something. Nice dunghill :)

So, as my first post I'm submitting my three captions: "Since neither of them fit on the bike, they never did find out why the kids played outside as soon as spring came." "I'm sorry, but they were out of horses." "I have mine, and since you're strong you can make an alto horn by bending that a bit and then we'll see who's the best player!"
