42154 - 2022 Ford GT
NoEXIST replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's already 27~28mm, I think more useful should be something like 20mm -

I would be happier with narrower 56mm wheels:) -

Sport suspension mode can be a great feature as on real one:) But it probably will be difficult to squeeze it inside -

Sort of, any single way to create this suspension with currently available parts is not in lego style. I am personally waiting for something like this: Also to be honest, I will be happy even without these parts, at least it should be interesting to build :) -

It seems to me you forgot about rearview mirrors -

Also counted it several times, but always got 21 studs. I was counting by the front end of the car and also by it's spoiler... I wonder if they should rather use new parts for it or floating diff suspension. -
[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
NoEXIST replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello! I would like to try my hand at building a 1:8 supercar. I have a lot of questions about model selection, drawing selection, sizing, and trade-offs to make for good appearance. The main question I have is ground clearance, on most blueprints I saw it's about 2 studs in 8th scale. What do you change in the models so that in the final model the clearance is about 1 stud and does this create a big difference from the original? -

[MOC] DAF XF 1:21
NoEXIST replied to NoEXIST's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you! It's nice to hear -
This model is inspired by DAF XF series. The creation is continuation of the line of different trucks built on 49.5x20mm wheels. It was very interesting experience for me because of new system building techniques for me. Here you can see the standard features for a truck of this scale and familiar details level. Features: - inline 6 cylinder engine powered by rear wheel drive - steering system with removable HoG - opening doors - removable aerodynamic element I hope you will like this one There is also instruction if you are interested: https://reb.li/m/106812 And some photos: https://bricksafe.com/files/NoExist/daf-xf/IMG_2813_edited.png/1280x853.png https://bricksafe.com/files/NoExist/daf-xf/IMG_2805_edited.png https://bricksafe.com/files/NoExist/daf-xf/dafxf95_edited.png https://bricksafe.com/files/NoExist/daf-xf/dafhog_edited.png https://bricksafe.com/files/NoExist/daf-xf/DAF XF Rear_edited.png

I'm slowly finishing the 3D model. Here you can see it's dimensions (some elements aren't in their final view, e.g. rear view mirrors) -

My first bricklink order has finally arrived. Now all colors on my truck match my ideas. I aslo put back the old wheel arch design and made a new connection to the bumper to make it stronger. -

Thank you! Maybe this is really not a very clean technic. But in comparison with sets 42078 or 42128, it should not stand out for the quantity of system parts. I think it's somewhere on the same level. -

Exactly, today I saw in discussion topic that they need to fold, so I did it. -

New arch - an attempt to see how it will look The new bumper unfortunately does not provide any additional options in the form of lighting installation. In this bumper, I like the size of the headlights more, but I do not like the way it is attached and the lack of a step... -

Changing the system in the chassis was very easy, so looking was not changed much. But in my opinion it would be better to install a Powered Up M motor with a Control+ system... The only problem is a price for these motors...
