Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Green Hair replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Funny you mention that, i was planning on that one first. The Amsterdam is of British design and not typically Dutch, that and the fact that the Willim is bigger and has nicer lines, made me decide to do this one. But projects like this are time and money consuming, if i make another it will be later in time.. And then i think i'll make a warship of the same age, perhaps ''de gouden leeuw'', as that is typically Dutch too. -
No can't do, i'm afraid. I would like to come sometime in the future.... So pleose Danish people, visit all, so that there will be another in the future!

Pirates! (gaming)
Captain Green Hair replied to Capn Frank's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It sounds logic, sail technically you are correct. I do find speeds of 13/15 knots pretty high for these ships, but that would ofcourse depend on the wind. I've sailed 8 knots with 6bft wind, and that was pretty fast i tell ya! -
It did appear to me, that you need to clean your baseplate..

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Green Hair replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Sure hope so, that will look awesome! Perhaps if someday we can solve the logistical nightmare, we can get all minifig scale ships together ey? Thanks! It's almost the same as the 7 provincieën, that one has a crown on his head. All Dutch ships had the lion, but warships had the crown on it as they sailed for the king. This is basically a 17th century company owned cargo ship. -
Is the LEGO Pirates Forum too chaotic? Are sub-forums needed?
Captain Green Hair replied to Mazin's topic in LEGO Pirates
The whole forum seems a bit chaotic from time to time, but still i find what i need. I don't think more subforums would improve things, we have the indexes for MOCs and what not, that should be sufficient. More forums would also not speed up the search program to find things i think. I've been here over 12 months. -
Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Green Hair replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well one would think that 2.500 white jumperbricks would be enough... But i can tell you that the stern has changed again and i've started on the interior of the main hold, i'll do an update somewhere next week. Sure, but you are cheating, your ship misses a certain part that makes it float. -
USS Constitution: a work in progress
Captain Green Hair replied to Capn Frank's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's starting to look really great Phred, when do you think she's finished? The smaller vessels look great and i love it that the turtlesub is still in one piece! Did your brother unpack his bricks? Otherwise me might need to use some persuasive techniques..... -
That looks very accurate, excellent job! I like the canopies you make, and i wonder how, and with what you make 'm?

We sing that we honour him, we also sing about having German blood. In other words: i hate our national anthem and i refuse to sing it. Now if they were singing about Michiel de Ruyter, that would be another case.

LEGO community team AFOL survey
Captain Green Hair replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is a great approach from Lego, i completed it just now. I asked them to put pirate minifigs in the PAB, and my biggest concern is the color difference in pieces. Thanks for highlighting this CM! -
Latest OFFICIAL Survey from the LEGO Group
Captain Green Hair replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
I suggested: ''please add pirate minifigs to the PAB''. -
Read books, watch films, build great MOCs for it and get inspired! But good humor is crucial IMO

We were not at war with the Spanish all the time, we even welcomed them at first. That's propably why we still sing about the Spanish king in our national anthem...

Too bad some people edited their choice....

Wow, this is the funniest thread i've all day! Lookin' good there Josh, keep it up!

Excellent work! The shape of it can work for 18th century forts as well and is very inspiring. I'm also in love with that trebuchet, does it actually sling stuff?

Great review of a great set. When i saw the first pics i already thought this was a must have, and this just proves i'm right. Thanks!

No, no, no, the Vasa tipped over because your king had to put more cannons on, even when we told him not too.....(insert stupid description of the Swedish king here) Those are cool fish you have, are those pictures from your tanks? I have a small tank, about 35 litres or so....but i do want a bigger one some day. Like you said, they are easyer to take care of. Thanks for the compliments on the Tiger and Steam engine. I'm currently working on a large ship the Prins Willim, perhaps i'll make the Vasa sometime too. And yes, that one won't tip over hehe.

Artist of the 2009 Pirate Set Comics - we've found his blog!
Captain Green Hair replied to Wes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks for sharing those with us! Could you please resize your pictures to a maximum of 600 x 800 pixels? A tutorial about it can be found in the index, link is in my signature. I'll leave 'm in the way they are for 2 days, otherwise i'll have to remove them. -
Inspector gadget! I learned my English from him first watching the NBC superchannel back in the 80's.
-
I think he just discovered what he wants to be, when he grows up...

Ha funny, too bad he has no hat.

Nice work! Are those stars click-it parts?
