  1. Hey! I told you that your MOC belonged here! Thanks for all those details that weren't in your reddit post and make it even more interesting!
  2. I completely agree with you, this mustache and goatee seem really outdated for a city timeline.
  3. I sincerely hope for re-release of the imperial flagship that I won't ever be able to pay. But anything in the theme, minifigure scaled, would probably make me happy, especially if it has the same quality of PoBB
  4. This is horrible, and hilarious!
  5. I have always seen a smile like you do but since I own the enchanted island set and the different objects (shield, sail etc) with the King's face, I think the intentional face is the "o" one It bugs me a lot
  6. I think the new 71391 (Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set) could bring some interesting MOC Pics from Hothbricks
  7. I like both your recreation and Piraten's one. Yours is a more a tribute to the original as a completely new model. This is a great creation. I really fell in love with your trees.
  8. This is a beautiful recreation! The resemblance is striking when you know the original model. Nice job!
  9. I have recently bought the original Imperial Flagship and the Black Sea's Barracuda. I haven't cleaned the second one yet but what seems common on both are that the clips are a bit loose. It may come from the way they were exposed/stored but my BSB red flags seem really fragile. I have broken a clip easily and some pirate flags are already broken. Clips pieces can be easily replaced, except for large flags that are expensive. Sails are other really expensive part of the set. I think Lego didn't even had "the Lego group" written on them for the first sets (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Original ropes on bricklink are also surprisingly expensive but can be replaced by non Lego ones (depending on what crazy collector you are )
  10. Impressive job! Thanks for sharing!
  11. It’s a nice modification!
  12. I am sorry for you. I like your submissions. I also hope this will be counter-balanced by a new series.
  13. "The third one will surprise you" Thank you for your work!
  14. I think he was joking about the statues Recently I learned that during Victorian era some old portraits were painted over for the character to look more beautiful in the standards of those times. Old art suffer their age but also the evolution of human tastes through time (and of course can be limited by techniques, when I was young I thought my grand-parents have lived in black and white due to their old pictures )
  15. This is an interesting theory. I don't think it's the most plausible but this is still a possibility. Usually companies try to avoid marketing problems that would make something sell less, so usually racial, political, religious and sexual topics are avoided. I don't think TLG will have on official position on this topic because of this. Anyway, those are toys and toys are made for everyone to create his own story with them, that's the beauty of those objects. If this theory makes you happy that's the most important, as long as everyone accept others can have their own version Thank you by the way for the historical point! I am wondering by the way, what's on Robin's face? I was thinking it could be some skin disease but now you mention her backstory, it may be burns or smoke.
  16. Maybe you could contact @legoman666, some months ago he created this topic about sails vector images, and his ebay store where he sells some. He might need some time to get the right dimensions though.
  17. Really nice! Love the different shades.
  18. For her age, she’s beautiful I haven’t seen them often at the same time, the poop deck looks so much more detailed on the Schooner! (maybe not the most realistic)
  19. Thank you for sharing. I am sure a lot of people will do that :)
  20. You’re welcome Governor, I’m proud to have accomplished this highly important mission! I like your ideas! I still like the bay but not without the ship parts. I think I will force myself not to build the ship for some time, just to enjoy the bay. Then I will probably take some of the good ideas from @Brickander Brickumnus to mod the ship and I will try to improve the island to avoid putting it in a box, which would be sad.
  21. Agreed, it’s not that much work. I was also thinking of adding a modular access from the top deck :) I just can’t decide if I mod the ship to display it or if I keep the ship as the bay. What remains of the bay when the ship is built isn’t really interesting... And I don’t want to buy two sets
  22. The set will have 3, but I agree it could be 4. And you will have to mod the design to be able to install them inside the hull.
  23. You made me curious as my pirates set were all red. I had to count So the majority is red, but pirates used most of brown. This count is in terms of sets, if I counted by canons in each set, red count would be higher. By the way I learned that blue and green colors exist. And this is the end of my PhD about Lego canon’s colors.
  24. Thanks @Brickander Brickumnus, it’s great to see the design evolution. I am glad that the fan designer seems happy of the result.
  25. After seeing the interview, I am glad that the LEGO team are such fans of classic pirates. I really feel their love through the interview, it makes me want the set even more. I can understand that some people are disappointed but a company can't be exclusively run by fans. As they mentioned in the interview, there is a lot of business considerations to be considered, even more than designing the set.
