Would you mind sharing a video? I don't intend to play the game. Now I hope that it'll bring kids back to the pirate theme and that the PoBB will have a re-release. I would have far less excuses for not buying a second one

Slopes curved have a great variety, I Iike them. Detailed plates are second, but can consume a lot of parts for it, which I don't like that much
-
Each of them has been sold in the past years, 3 of them were collectible minifigures: - 71018-16: Highwayman - PI165: Pirate Princess - 71013-9: Scallywag Pirate - 8833-15: Pirate Captain

A really nice starting point. I really love the Barracuda Bay. That's so sad it's not sold any more (to buy a second one).

For me it's too organized, too European. It could work for the army port, at home, not in the Caribbean. And I would have imagined more two levels building, like the original, or the green/brown one in the the new. The tower is too much medieval (not built/modified for guns) and the houses feel more countryside. In my mind I either have the more Spanish style in my mind for imperials (Eldorado Fortress and port already went this way), or something more random for pirates (maybe like it was in Tropico 2)

I don't know if you have already done it, but I would go for the already available sets like Eldorado Fortress and the creator ship. This ship did not impress me when it was revealed but I really like it now.. It has many details and scales really well with buildings like the Fortress or the original imperial port. As for 70413, I feel like that the bow (front) and center are quite empty. I don't know how to say it, but compared to older ships, the build is pretty basic. The stern is OK. The ship itself isn't bad, it's just less to my taste. I don't own the 2009 one but it's quite similar I think. If you don't own the creator ship, I would go for it first.

LEGO 10320 Eldorado Fortress - MOC / MOD Thread
CaptainMoore replied to CAESARBLACK's topic in LEGO Pirates
Welcome! This is a great moc! I was waiting for someone to try this and it's brilliant. On my end I don't have the POBB leftovers, I love the island too much -
Easy question this time, yellow.

I'm a close to @TeriXeri. I've built bags 1 to 8, I only lack building the prison. I have never owned an Imperial set in my childhood and now I only own the Imperial Trading Post (6277). I'm quite happy that Lego has released this set for people who have missed the original (6276) as me. To be honest, I was on the verge of buying the original model but now I'm not sure anymore. It looks quite close to the original but modernized, with added features, more parts and for a price relatively close to the current original's. BSB was so different that I have bought the original after, but for the Eldorado Fortress, I'm not convinced. This is something which maybe explains the criticism seen here. For people who already have 6276, I can understand that buying something looking so close is not a real incentive to get the new one. For newcomers in the theme, it's a great opportunity I would say. I like the new boat, the build is fun and we avoid having like the 200th rowboat in the theme. Plus it makes sense to have it, a fort needs supplies too. I have enjoyed the build. I was more on the "too many parts for the base side" before but now I can't say I dislike it. Having underground tunnels is more interesting than just a hole one the base. For me the worst part is the office. I agree that Lego should have closed it. And they could have provided some bricks to close the hole on the left of the tower for the assembled version. On the criticism of the fortifications, honestly it's not worse than the original. Yes on the front right there's a passage, but 6276 has it too, even going directly into the tower. The walls have tinyer holes in them, for the muskets instead of the canons, better protection for the soldiers than the original looking like a cheese slice On the minifigures, I have no problem at all with females. I'm just a bit disappointed by the male pirate, which is too generic. Aside from the office, my other major downside is the center of the fortress module, which is really to much black for me. I don't have problems for the rest of the docks, even if I would be curious to see how it looks in brown. Anyway, great set. Maybe not a new fortress which I would have preferred, but a good one.

Shooting and Non-Shooting Cannons...What you Have!?
CaptainMoore replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Pirates
As a European kid, it was a mystery to me that the pirate poster I had was showing a beautiful canon, one that I had never seen with nice sculptures on it. The mystery waited until I looked out as an adult. I didn't play too much with the shooting function, I feared of losing the canon ball, but it was a nice feature for a kid. -
The set is the second best from 2024 in the Brickset poll, far behind Rivendell. Could it be more appreciated than we have the impression here? I guess Brickset community is still mainly AFOL..

Pirates - Early Character and Comic Designs
CaptainMoore replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
Incredible post! Many thanks to you, Per Sanderhage and @Sadie Meowsalot. I didn't grew with the comics, so I'm not very fond of it because of how Redbeard is different to my imagination. My version was a heroic captain looking for adventures and freedom, and with a closer resemblance to this sketch. Anyway, knowing more about the creative process and how the line was built and peepers for market is fascinating. -
I think that we will keep having easter eggs and references. For a next set, i'm not even sure it could happen in 2025. I would bet on a ship because it is both playable and great for display, also PoBB is already a pirate camp so I doubt that we'll get another one before long.

Ah ok, that was the reason for the unicorn having two accessories!

Where have you seen it? I can't find it -
Didn't PoBB had such a short life? I remember considering getting another one, seeing it was not available for months then being discontinued
-
My bad, it seemed to me that I was seeing a layer. I'm really curious of this printing method, the result is great!

You really want Lego to read you and come back to stickers on torsos
-
I'm a bit disappointed by the bam selection. The new legs are great and having the dual moulded hat also, but a bow? The other minifigures are pretty boring I think, there's not even a weapon for the knight.
-
It's clearly him, i just don't know why he is never mentioned.
-
I have voted Redbeard, he is a Lego icon. PotC is an external licence. I would consider pi146 and pi102 as pirate captains too. Not really successful for the first one and in training for the second one . Also,as far as I know, pi148 was not associated to Redbeard officially, so is he another captain? I really would like to have an Ironhook revisit also.

Really interesting post, thank you! You should write a brickipedia article!
