LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Those are resellers and not to the moon people. They don't hurt LEGO or their sales, they actually boost them. LEGO gets the same amount of money if thousand of different people each buy 1 BP for themselves or if 1 person buys thousand of BP to try to mark up the price. LEGO doesn't care what people do with sets after they sold them, they already got their money. You also need 12 BP to fill out AT-AT and 3 BP to make at least a squad so regular people competing with army builders and people that want to fill out UCS set and then resellers and then ton of people will complain on forums and social media which will bring even more people to want the set to brag they got it or cause of fear of missing out. Poor sales are the last thing i would worry about. -

Yeah, all fair points. Rex is my white whale figure, but i am not paying $200 or whatever is the price now. Demand for him is insane, but how can we blame the greedy people or wannabe investors when our own precious company hears we want 501st troopers or dark troopers and then put them in $30 sets and can't even make accurate vehicles with it. Bubble will never burst till LEGO starts making and re-making high demand stuff like Zeb that someone mentioned or Rex or minifigure scaled gunship or proper Imperial Shuttle. People are basically forced to go back and buy overpriced stuff or not have some important stuff in the collection. -

So to build a smallest army properly and accurately you need 9 soldiers of the same type to make a squad, 4 of those squads make a platoon. Therefore if only 38 people decided to army build a smallest unit of Mimban troopers they will already deplete the bricklink of 342 troopers from 342 sets and inflate the price of that particular figure, same way people did with the 332nd trooper. Don't also forget that the price of the set was $70. It is obvious why other figures from the set aren't jumping that much cause no one needs an army of Han Solo or Beckett and the third figure is a common tie pilot. This is way different than a group of people deciding they will buy every bail organa or thrawn or pre vizsla or gar saxon when the set retires. -

5-10 intentionally inflated figures aside, ton of us are buying them. There were like 4 sets i had to buy this year: trouble on Tatooine for accurate speeder and Grogu, 2 TCW sets, set for Paz Vizsla and that's it. Only $140 entire year from new releases, ofc i am going to go through older stuff to pick up some cool figures and sets that i don't have. I literally ordered rebels stromtrooper BP, old sequel stuff and stormtroopers from death trooper BP maybe 3 hours ago and i am looking for other things like tie prototype from rebels, Rey's speeder, minifigure scaled Gunship, Senate Commandos etc. -

I think it's mostly cause of past 6 years where OT is running through PT and TCW sets 56 to 18 PT and 8 TCW sets with 2 more OT sets coming in january and then 2 more OT helmets and OT UCS set coming as well. If you joined the community in the past 6 years it is fairly one sided. I am one of the people who complained about UCS stuff, but after seeing UCS Gunship i will never ask for UCS set for the rest of my life. OT can have them all. -

The thing is we don't know what you counted as a set. Is Bespin Duel a set to you? Or 20th anniversary Obi wan polybag? It ends up being impartial no matter what we count/ don't count. Lot of sets are also in the gray area like this years R2-D2, some people won't even accept darth vader's helmet as OT cause it's techically in the ST and for few seconds in the PT. -

We have 5 PT UCS sets and 95 sets of which 42 were directly tied to movies and released before 2006. We have 0 ST UCS sets and 42 sets of which 41 were directly tied with movies. Didn't count promotional sets, calendars, polybags, mini builds, buildable figures, planet series, brickheadz or micro fighters which all lean MASSIVELY towards OT side. -

A ton of people missed everything. From my huge experience most of the PT fans are in their 20ies and some are 14-18. Some of the sets and figures haven't been remade for 10 years, Jango Fett's Slave 1 for almost 20. Most of the prequel fans grew up with the movies and tcw and they were children with no buying power when all this stuff came out. Even if you were 16 when TCW started in the end of 2008 you just won't be able to buy $120 Venator and $250 AT-OT as a high school student in most cases. Last time we got some of the sets and figures: 2002- Jango Fett's Slave 1, Bounty Hunter pursuit 2009- Separatist Shuttle, AT-OT, Count Dooku's Sailor, Republic Attack Shuttle, Venator 2011- Tactical Droid, Commander Cody 2012- Queen Amidala 2013- AT-TE, Gunship, phase 2 Rex, Count Dooku 2014- 212th phase 2, MTT, wolfpack phase 2 2015- Naboo Starfighter, Maul's infiltrator, Flash Speeder, super battle droid 2016- Clone turbo tank Funny you mention Duel on Naboo, i heard lot of people get back in LEGO with that set. -
New one. Honestly i am very close to just bricklinking Wrecker and Crosshair to be done with it.
-
Bought Kylo Ren's Shuttle, such a cool set with great minifigs. Still waiting for minifigure pack leaks so i can decide if i am going to buy the bad batch shuttle or not. Eyeing couple of things and minifigures too.

Sorry, but that's not how it works. I am not going to army build stormtroopers cause it spans the thing that i actually love clone troopers. For example Scout trooper has only been in the OT and the Mandalorian and the pictures on the box are from which ever OT movie they were from. Might as well say it's a set from Sons of Anarchy show cause he is a guy with a helmet riding a vehicle. There are 13 sets marked as Original Trilogy on the brickset and scenes from those same movies are on the boxes like Tatooine Homestead that actually has builds and pictures from certain OT scenes on the box and in the build all the way to probe droid who had the entire advertisment based on locating the rebel base on Hoth. With your way of seeing things i can connect Star Wars sets with literally everything like connecting Sidious to a player 001 from Squid Games. -

I don't think LEGO hates prequels, but i think they are focusing too much on 1 certain type of costumers and on 1 trilogy which is making people irritated, angry and frustrated especially cause they can't logically explain to themselves why is LEGO doing that when prequel stuff is obviously selling well. This year alone we got 13 OT products, only 1 Sequel set which is 4+ garbage, 2 TCW life savers and only 1 Prequel set which is $350 that had to be voted in and then rumors start coming for the next year and again no Sequel or Prequel stuff till probably August. -

That's why people will buy 2x 501st sets for 8 of them and not a tiny "helmet". -

As a PT fan i agree. I am mostly looking for cool figures, something to army build (even cool OT stuff) and minifigure scaled or under scaled models. I wouldn't get a LEGO helmet even if they offered me one for free, even if it's my favorite character. I would rather add few bucks and buy a superior version from Hasbro that can be worn or made into a display/center piece of a room/office/whatever. I think OT stuff would sell better and they should keep making them cause people that like those movies are a perfect target audience for that type of stuff. -

Well that's kinda subjective and based on people's preferences, but 2020 Mando BP vs 2011 Mando BP had more pieces cause most of them came from 6 stud shooters, with 6 projectile launchers and then 12 studs to launch. The older one was superior in every way shape and form, new ones don't even have jet packs and you have to pretend they are members of different clans to army build them and they are barely seen on screen. Jedi and Clone battle pack is also a massive downgrade from Clone Walker BP. New Imperial Dropship that was $20 with Han Solo and those family guy helmets vs the 2008 Imperial Dropship for $10. We also got named bounty hunters, inferno squad and astromech droid as an army builder. And do pieces even matter in the BP, it's mostly just a loophole to sell minifigures and you are happy if they make something accurate once in a while, i don't know many army builders that have 20 tiny gunships built from jedi clone BP. Yeah i often see US youtubers and people getting awesome deals and discounts, but it's not a common occurrence in Europe. -

I used imperial dropship that came out in 2008 as example ($10 in 2008 january= $13.10 now), that same battle pack was still for sale till it retired on 31st of December of 2009. In short: 2007- Battle Packs come out for 9.99$ 2022- Battle Packs are now $19.99 Inflation from January of 2007 to today is 3 dollars and 66 cents and the price increased for $10. -

Yeah, the Snowtrooper BP does provide more value than the Sith Trooper BP, but in all honesty LEGO could just give us 3 Sith Troopers and the officer in the first place without losing any money and they wouldn't have to pay for design of re-colored Jet Trooper. It definitely isn't better than the old Mandalorian BP, Rebel Scout Trooper BP, Clone Walker BP, Imperial Troop Transport BP, Older Imperial Dropship BP, Senate Commando BP, Imperial Trooper BP etc. What if this BP was just a fluke and we see random crew members, drivers and innacurate vehicles in the next one and the price stays the same? LEGO could also just make accurate speeder and AT-RT for 501st set and sell them to us for $15 or even $20 cause they had to go out of their way to make it for us. It's not all inflation it's straight up greed. People nowadays are more loyal to the company than to themselves and they keep defending the multi billion dollar company giving us meh product for top price. With inflation BP that was $10 in the december of 2009 should be $12.81 today and not $20 according to Bureau of Labor Statistics which has a free calculator online. They will get us used to it with this price for 3-4 years and then get the price up again to $25. -

Figure doesn't have any torso prints to indicate that she is a woman so you can easily either make a bulk head order from BL or get random heads you like while you are making orders for something else, throw the figure head in the garbage and change it to one you like. You are literally creating problems where there are none. -

FINALLY an accurate speeder after those disgusting oversized piles of $%&# we got in the 501st set and in the Bad Batch Shuttle set. I am not into snowtroopers or OT, but i am definitely getting 3 of them at least to make a squad. Scout troopers look awesome, speeder looks amazing and box art is cool too. Good job LEGO. Might even buy the 2020 AT-AT now. Not interested at all with the AT-ST, but i do like the AT-ST driver minifigure. Would rather have the Endor version. -

I hate original trilogy, but oh damn UCS AT-AT is a real beauty. Hands down the best UCS set ever, i can only dream about LEGO doing anything as good as this for PT. So much details, interior is great and they even made 40 seats for snowtroopers, the exact number of seats to place an entire platoon (40 troopers plus lieutenant). Only thing i am salty about is that they say figures are a bonus in UCS sets and then put 9 figures into this. -

Ehm it is not a battle pack. It's lterally a $30 set depicting a scene from the show that you are comparing to an actual battlepack. It is as much of a battle pack as this years tie fighter and imperial marauder. Can you buy multiple and form an army or a navy? Yes. Are those battle packs? No. On your topic of defeating the purpose of battle packs, when you bought Ki-Adi-Mundi battlepack you got 2 clones for $15, which is 4 of the same clones for $30. Even though that battle pack sucks in theory and leaves you with ton of unwanted same figures of named character it is still superior in army building value to any of the $30 and $40 sets that we have or will have from AAT, Marauder, Tie Fighter, 501st set to the Dark Trooper set. You can literally throw everything other than 2 clones in the garbage and you will still have better army building value than from buying or mass buying any of those $30 and $40 sets. That's what defeats the purpose of battle packs, not releasing battle packs in 2021 and instead throwing army building figures in $30 and $40 sets. I would be perfectly happy with batte pack that has Ki-Adi-Mundi and Barriss with 2 x 332nd for $15 than being forced to buy 9 AATs for $360 to form a squad. Give me Ki-Adi-Mundi and Barriss with 2 x 501st troopers for $15 too instead of having to pay $30 for 501st set to get 3 of the same clone figures i want. -

Not really interested or excited about any of the new sets. I was hoping the tank rumor is true, but it's either a bs or it will come later in the year. Pass on helmets, pass on all of the OT sets. Only might get Boba Fett sets if the show is good and maybe 3 hoth battlepacks if the speeders inside are size accurate and not oversized like 501st ones. Overall sad, boring and depressed first 8 months of 2022 that can only be salvaged by a decent minifigure pack, but i am not expecting anything. -

They never even called a 501st set a bp nor did brickset, it was just community members spreading nonsense. This is a 30$ set that leakers are calling a battlepack cause you can buy multiple of which is the same with imperial marauder and tie fighter from this year.
