  1. With the lack of pauldrons and kamas I don't even want the 327th at this point. Best time to get them would've been 2014-2016. They're clones. They are supposed to be identical. It's a luxury not a requirement. They are just fine as is.
  2. Or, I could simply bricklink a few extra clone heads and use hair pieces from my own collection. Who's displaying a clone pilot without their helmet anyway? Why is this suddenly a concern? We never say this about Rebel Pilots.
  3. Scorching Take: Not every minifigure needs the works (i.e. double-sided face, leg printing, boots). Simpler is sometimes better. The clones don't need an alternate face, none of the rank and file do, why should the pilots be special?
  4. And I'd unironically love that. I like the thought process of only including figures that can be stored within the vessel, what sucks is that said vessel should be bigger for the price.
  5. Attention you Jedi refugees... Some points I feel like I need to mention: Alderaan was not a militaristic planet. Every system in the galaxy had some form of weaponry, be that outright militaries or security forces. Alderaan had the latter, as necessitated by the fact it needed to protect it's head of state and other diplomats. When Leia says "We have no weapons", that isn't a literal statement. She doesn't mean "we have no blasters of any kind", rather that the people of Alderaan as a whole were a peaceful people, with no militaristic tendencies. I know some of you act like the Prequels aren't a thing, but Bail Organa was very much against war, going to whatever lengths necessary to put an end to the Republic's increasing militarization during the Clone Wars. Still, he wasn't an idiot. He had the Alderaan Security Forces assembled as a proto-army to help in his missions against the Empire (by providing security and fighting when necessary), though direct and open conflict was never his aim. RO is actually a bad characterization for him, as he openly accepts having to march Alderaan into war, hence why he heads back there in the film. The US dropped the atomic bombs because a conventional invasion of Japan would've been catastrophic. The Japanese Empire needed to be shocked into surrender, a concept that was literally alien to them. It's not pretty, but that's why it was done. If Japan would've surrendered in ways similar to their Axis allies, or if the toll on the US military would've been acceptable losses, we wouldn't be talking about atomic bombs (or Godzilla or anime for that matter). The Empire in and of itself, is not evil. The people in charge of the Empire generally were. Obviously Palpatine was a menace, and the most dangerous man in the galaxy bar none. Bar none. Vader was also twisted and evil, and most of the rich and elite Imperial High Command. However, I would argue that a galaxy as volatile and unpredictable as the Star Wars one would require whichever faction was in power to be strong militarily. It's why I prefer the New Republic in Legends over Canon. They understood the importance of being able to defend against whatever horrors of deep space were thrown your way. The Empire could've and should've included more aliens at all levels, instead of alienating non-humans, but that's also fallout from the Clone Wars, were most of the Separatists (aside from the Jabiimi and the people of Brentaal IV) were non-humans. As humans were also the most prolific species in the galaxy, they outnumbered any number of alien species, which made it easier for Palpatine to keep his foot on their necks. It was also required, because a lot of those species were dangerous in their own rights, and could easily prove to great a threat for the Empire to handle (Ewoks, Wookiees, and most obviously the Mon Calamari) Tarkin didn't care about whether or not Alderaan was a military target or not. They were known sympathizers of the Rebellion and so he had to make an example of them. Too bad they had the reputation of a peaceful people, which is why this moved backfired and drove many Imperials to the Rebel Alliance. Yavin IV was going to be wiped out entirely by the blast from the Death Star, making Tarkin's true target (the tiny base or the whole moon) irrelevant. I didn't realize you'd made this particular point, I skimmed your original comment. Both sides had their merits. I like the Empire's strong military but not it's authoritarianism, I like the Rebellion's humanitarian efforts and biodiversity. All of them corrupt and fascist in their own ways.
  6. Which is why I put Phase I Cody. Though to be fair, I'm not sure how easy he is to obtain nowadays. But, that is a smart way to catalogue them. You could also do one for just the Jedi, one for the clones, just some ideas. Nor does he have a CW minifigure. Which is honestly an oversight.
  7. Been watching Star Trek recently, and I'd be down for some sets, if Lego could snag the license. Highlights would be the three main Enterpises (NX-01, NCC-1701, NCC-1701-D) with their respective crews, Klingon Bird of Prey and Romulan Warbird.
  8. Dooku and his agents, sure. But the vast majority of the Confederacy were systems tired of Republic corruption and Jedi interference (as pseudo agents of the aforementioned corrupt Republic). The businessmen who controlled the army, and the Geonosians were pretty evil, but not every Separatist was a villain.
  9. Question: Are you using the animated figures specifically, or simply figures from the Clone Wars era at large? Or both? Me personally Anakin (Armor) Obi-Wan (Armor) Ahsoka (S3) Padme Captain Rex (Phase II) Commander Cody (Phase I) Clone Trooper (Phase I) 501st Legion Clone Trooper R2-D2 Mace Windu Yoda Plo Koon Palpatine Ki-Adi-Mundi Barriss Offee Luminara Unduli Thought process: Frame I - The Good Guys, Frame II - The Bad Guys, Frame III - The Extras. My second would be Dooku Ventress Grievous Battle Droid Commander Pre Vizsla Maul Savage Oppress Nute Gunray Cad Bane Battle Droid Super Battle Droid Commando Droid Geonosian Warrior Death Watch Trooper Supercommando Umbaran Militia
  10. The clone pilots look nice...I also called R4-P44...It's kinda sleek... I really don't like this build. The 2005/2010 models had a certain...gravitas. This is just kinda ok. Maybe it'll grow on me like the 2020 X-Wing/TIE Fighter.
  11. Which is rather unfortunate. Ideally, you could have both phases on shelves at the same time. Phase Is are also slightly more amassable than their late-war counterparts (taking the various Phase II legions into account).
  12. Sometimes I wonder why I still look at this thread. This. This is why. Every recent D2C has been lackluster in terms of figure selection imo (that includes the Bugle, Sanctum, Avengers Tower, Eye of Sauron, X-Mansion, Khetanna, etc). As a minifig collector first and foremost, I've lost any interest I had in these overpriced set pieces. And I'm taking into account who's chosen and their figure design, not just number of figs (hence TDB and AT).
  13. Thank you! I couldn't think of a battle word that started with N. Duel on the Invisible Hand Hoth Trench Felucia (even if microscale)
  14. Don't care about Enoch, already have Kit Fisto, Mara Jade would be nice, but I'm content with my custom, I'd rather get 327th/21st over any of the Filoni clones, Aphra is nice but eh, they've already made like six Tarkins (3 but still), They've already made Krennic, IJTs are cool, ET already exists (Dimensions), Pyre is just Gold Phasma, Jacen and Jaina would be nice but they're far too irrelevant at this point, Krrsantan is also okay. I'm sure you kept that same energy about RTG then. Canon is a point of view. Always has been, always will be. Less non-canon, more...alternate history.
  15. I struggle to equate "named clones" with clone commanders, as we've always gotten them (Rex/Cody/Fox/Wolffe/Gree in Phase I, Rex/Cody/Fox/Neyo/Gree/Vaughn for Phase II). I would guess more along the lines of Fives, and that's sufficiently vague enough to mean any number of clones. Anything from new Bad Batch to troops from TCW. Maybe even a pilot (like Hawk, for instance). On the other hand, this could just be a red herring and could very well be referring to any one of a dozen missing commanders (Bly/Bacara/Wolffe) Which brings me to my second point. The 2 new Jedi feels either like new characters or rarely produced characters. I'd take no hints from any associated images as those rarely reflect the actual subject matter. If Plo Koon is a movie figure (ROTS), then it may make more sense for the two other Jedi to be prequel characters also. I doubt major protagonists count, so no Yoda/Mace/Obi-Wan/Luke etc, as we'd just namedrop those and forego the hype. Realistically, this could mean a new Kit Fisto, maybe some Acolyte characters, or the other members of Windu's arrest party. The leaked Acclamator is very nice, I want one. Time will tell if I get just the one. Highly doubt it. The most relevant appearances of the craft are either Phase II or Post-War material. While I'd love a new Republic Y-Wing, I think they'd sooner do the 501st variant (Phase II Troopers), another LAAT/i is just ridiculous at this point, and I fear the V-19 has lost its relevance in the community. I would probably prefer for it to be a V-19 or AOTC LAAT/i, but these could all be pipe dreams and it's simply another microfighter... ... You can be positive about your product without coming off like a smug nerf herder. "Why do you think we made the wrong figure for this set? Why do you think we cut so many corners? Don't our decisions (made purely for profit margin) make so much more sense? Your feeble collector minds can't comprehend the layers behind our genius set design." I am obviously exaggerating, but I swear the Khetanna interview was the most irritating thing I've read from the design team. It beats the Clone Pilot debacle by a mile for me. I honestly don't even think brickset was satisfied with their answers - they were basically told to answer their own questions! Even with past controversies, the design team always came off as more "this is simply what we're working with/our thought process went like this" vs "it is what it is. Deal with it."
  16. No one expects the Blacktron Inquisition...
  17. Y'know, all this talk about stormtrooper battle packs reminded me about how, in the past, we'd get several of the key troopers scattered across a wave of sets: TCW & 2013 Clone Trooper, All Stormtrooper variants, etc. With the exception of the Battle Droids, and arguably the Stormtrooper, we haven't seen that in a while. It would be hard to drop a bunch of, say, Shore Troopers across a wave if there isn't a ton of Andor/Rogue One sets, but Lego could achieve this if they spread the love across Mando S2, Andor, and Rogue One sets, for example. I know we're probably never seeing Solo sets again, but I'd argue the Imperial Army could benefit from this type of distribution too. Battle Packs are nice, but this way still allows you to acquire multiples, and you get more sets out of it overall. Even if you don't buy every set said figure comes in, the increased supply would help regulate prices on the secondary market.

  19. As a fellow Hasbro Disciple, while Hasbro is known to cut corners at times, it does at least try to keep up with the latest Star Wars content. Figures are well detailed, but horribly overpriced (which I think is a license thing, tbh), which is where the bulk of the fanbase's vitriol comes from. Also, they tend to lock desirable figures (i.e. army builders like the Legends 187th) behind Pulse or a two pack. "As far as the shows go." ROTS is one of the Saga films, sets based off those will always be expected. The animated shows, not so much. The entire set is based on a canon design, though. ROTS gunship is the same as the AOTC gunship. Besides, we've gotten the Legends 187th only two years ago. An update to the old 2005 clone pilots would be kind of cool. I'd agree that the new pilot being Hasbro's would be silly, but the alternative is a classic AOTC gunship, with the usual suspects complementing it.
  20. KRIFF... Still, new Plo Koon. I concur. I was excited to add a new JSF to Anakin and Obi Wan's. Probably a new Phase I pilot, with the appropriate changes (finally a finless helmet!?), if not that, then they probably just mean we're getting Odd Ball from ROTS, since Jag and at least two others have already been produced. Andor S2, Endor, and possibly more Ahsoka stuff. I'd love to get some ROTS sets, but I don't think that's likely. Or, hear me out: A ROTS selection LAAT/i. With the Hasbro original Gunship Pilot (basically the 2005 pilots but with lime and red markings), Mace, Obi-Wan, and 41st Elite Troopers (Landing Platform). I don't think Plo being in a microfighter guarantees him a spot elsewhere. And the Lola Sayu arc was over a decade ago. That's ancient history as far as the shows go. They don't care. They interviewed the team behind the UCS Khetanna and I gotta say, I am really starting to dislike the Star Wars design team. They seem very smug and content with their obviously controversial design choices. I understand Disney has certain sway, but LSW has been behind the ball compared to other Star Wars brands. (I.E. Hasbro) Fingers crossed that the ARC still looks good, though. It's the only set I'm excited about next year (RIP Plo's system-scale Starfighter) It's never going to happen, so don't worry about it.
  21. I've been saying this for years! Also, people act like you have to use the given figures as is. Figbarfs are a thing. Every battle pack has its use.
  22. Blacktron needs to execute Renny for making us scroll past that...
  23. That sounds like a great way to end up in the brig. Rancors devour the criminally insane.
  24. Why? I like Jek too, but dear God there's too many canon/legends characters (aka real Star Wars characters) still needed for us to waste slots on Lego's OCs. Let's get a new Zam Wesell before we get another Jek-14. He has never let us down. In Plo Koon we trust. Two are red, one's a specialized variant of an Eta-2, one's a red Eta-2, and this one is blue! I don't mind getting the JSFs as they are (usually) cheap models and they have decent collectability (new hat syndrome). I do agree that we're overdo for the Separatist Fighters, and new/reissued droid models, though. Besides, we have multiple TIE variants on shelves at or around the same time, this is the Prequel version of that.
  25. Impressive, most impressive. Technically, LEGO Earth would be globe-esque, but not a true sphere. In either case, the Earth is flat. Real ones know what's what.
