  1. ok great thanks for the info, i will try that I will order the lighting set soon... a bit busy with kylo Ren command shuttle so I am missing some space to open up the MF, i don't want to break anything while building something else ;) The result is really nice
  2. Nice ! Did you put inside the lightning set you advised me to buy ? if it's the case, where did you put the battery case ? frankly it's way better than the cheap plastic tubes TLG put initially
  3. I am currently building a MOC KR Command Shuttle, it's amazing to see how big it is already just with the wings, I cannot imagine how huge Cavegod's version could be
  4. Sorry to hear that :( instructions can wait you know... what is important is for you and your family to be well
  5. Hi thanks for your responses. It makes sense then about TLG official sets but I was surprised to see individuals creating MOCs with this same method
  6. This might seem strange to you but i was wondering... I have started to build MOCs recently after having started with official sets and one question came to my mind when i realized it even more true with MOCs than official sets: Lego greebling makes sense, it brings a lot more details for the outside of a ship. But when it comes to building the inside, especially layers that one will never see again, there are hundreds of steps with small parts can could easily be replaced with bigger parts in order to save time and have exactly the same resistance. Take for example Kylo Ren's command shuttle i am currently building. The wings have tons of different layers. It's not like a Millenium Falcon where i could open the upper hull and see and play with the inside of the ship. Here the wings include hundreds of small pieces between each side of them that once assembled we will never be able to see again. So.... why ???? could you please enlighten me ? thanks
  7. oh nice, thanks a lot !
  8. Currently building Kylo Ren's command shuttle and next my build will be this Resistance Bomber :) can't wait !
  9. btw, back to my original question, if someone has a good tip for an affordable lightning system just for the engine and wireless, please let us know :) The Light my falcon solution is a bit too expensive for me, but also i want lights just for the engine thanks
  10. as for my own build, I am not modifying the inside, because the MF will end in a glass/wood coffee table. I wanted the outside to be more accurate. So, so far, I only modded the engine (instead of those ugly blue plastic tubes). I think i will display the ship with the ramp open and minifig next to it, and that's it. I am not those who "play" with it, because those sets are very large, heavy and a bit fragile.
  11. ha ha, i was thinking about the Death Star actually
  12. Hi there I just recently completed the build and your approach is good. It's better to finish it before considering modifications, otherwise it would be difficult to continue the construction. Some early stages have major impact on steps arriving even at the end
  13. we should have a topic to discuss the builds that are most unliked too
  14. Not so many UCS to compare but so far the MF75192 kills them all
  15. i still have to mod the mandibles according to what you did and i think that would be it, i guess i would be happy with the ship so far modding the engine was already a very big change
  16. thanks oh wow, that's nice but expensive. I guess i'll pass... I'd rather put that money into lego bricks to build MOCs. I thought that it would be something like under $100, because after all, it's only LEDs.
  17. btw, any good wireless lighting system to recommend for the engine ? in a few months, as i will put the MF in a coffee table, it would be easier to turn on/off the lights if it's working with a remote or a smartphone i don't know... or maybe it's possible to adapt some ikea wiresless switch... thanks
  18. I voted Republic Gunship
  19. wow, just finished modding the engine that was the first time i ever used a .io file, not easy at first and i ordered the wrong number of parts, then with a bit of patience, I was able to finish the mod, and really, it was an exciting result !!! so happy to get rid of those plastic tubes, my MF75192 never looked so realistic :) can't wait to add the led lights in the future before putting the ship in a coffee table, thanks again to the author of the mod :)
  20. the journalist says in the video at 5'35 that Mirko is still working on the instructions and this is just a sample
  21. I am drooling on my keyboard frankly, scenes about the movies and ISDs are really impressive, but when it comes down to ships, this one is probably (in my own opinion of course) of one or not to say, most probably the best so far, such details... it's amazing it will be a challeging build for me (it took me months to build up the MF 75912 and hopefully, all the bags were already sorted by TLG), but ordering parts and then sorting them out will take me weeks, plus months for building, but in the end, it will be the masterpiece of my collection I cannot say enough how Mirko is talented, nice work, great video
  22. nice work on Grievous, the bike and Obiwan !!! less fan about the lizard...
  23. which TIE did you put inside ? is it a custom model ? and by the way, what was the budget for this build ?
  24. The Monarch is nearly the perfect ISD in my opinion. What is really missing is some trans-clear parts in blue inside the engines. Otherwise, size, details, proportions compared to the movies, it’s very realistic. Not saying the other ships are bad, but the Monarch is one step above the others. Frankly I would prefer a nice ship for display over playability. it’s nice to open a ship and see the inside and sometimes it’s frustrating to think about official sets with no interior for the high price paid, but for an ISD, playability is not a priority as long as the exterior is perfectly executed
  25. Almost 3 weeks to go before the release of the instructions for the B-project ? :) can’t wait
