LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Hopefully the other themes will be addressed with «real» sets. As for Jar Jar: 1) it’s not sure Lego will go for him, 2) better him as a brickheadz than him as a brick built figure. Still, the best scenario would be no Jar Jar at all. -

One the one hand, I feel many might prefer to visit one place/thread (instead of two) where they can find both news and rumors as well as express their opinion on those news and rumors. That is, this is the place where some might want/expect to find news as it is just more practical. Would it be possible to mark somehow news and rumors in this thread so that people can find them more easily? On the other hand. I totally agree that discussions go very often out of track, and this can be rather frustrating. This is only related to common sense, there should be a common undestanding and culture of using this thread for its purpose, and not initite long digressions because there will be some new series in 2023 or because there is a urgent need to share thoughts on the last Mando episode. -

I can really see a MBS Endor bunker in the future. But yes, it’s still speculation. -

I didn’t really like that review and how the set was presented. I believe the set in hands looks better than in that video. I look forward to watch Jang’s review of the set. Just a pity we need to wait much longer since he buys sets by himself. Still, his reviews are the ones I trust, and enjoy the most. I also think the 2015 was a better build and better looking. While I appreciate the smaller scale of the new fighters (and hopefully future vehicles),I don’t think shuttles or other medium-sized ships (e.g. Slave 1, Razor Crest, etc) need to be smaller than they already were. I also expect the interiors (if there are any) are much smaller than the previous model, where you could fit easily 5/6 minifigs. I’m glad I bought a cheap 2015 version and populated with imperial minifigs. -

I personally like Rebel Builder’s mocs among other SW mocs. I build an Interceptor and it looks like an official Lego set together with the other official TIEs I own. Still, I would like to have new official TIE variants, mostly a Bomber which now would be more feasible due to the latest trend. -

The new X-wing exceeds my expectations! The X-wing had been so far one of the most oversized SW models. This one will scale better with other rebel ships, such as the Y-wing (in universe, the Y-wing is about 16 m long while the X-wing is 12 m). I only have the grey-blue resistance X-wing mostly because I like that colour combination, but now I’m sure I’ll get this new one. The minifig selection is also excellent with the inclusion of Dodonna. The TIE Fighter is very good as well! My only concern there is how well it can be displayed with other existing TIEs, which are all in scale with each other. -

I meant the printing (I suppose) on the cheeks with different grey tones which have the purpose of providing depth. Otherwise a new mould would have been needed to that purpose. -

I think they have done an excellent job with printing this time. I also like the depth given by the helmet printing. -

Beskar Mando and the Child in a cheap set is something most people were asking for (and prioritized before other characters), especially for all those who didn’t buy the Razor Crest. I think it was a good move. At this point, I believe TLG (which has been prudent with the prevoius wave) has acknowledged the success of the Mandalorian. As such, more sets will be probably released in 2021 after everyone will have watched Season 2. The lack of an early release of new sets with new vehicles and new characters now might also be imposed to avoid spoilers. -

I tend to believe Lego may release a set similar to the UCS Slave 1 with few selected minifigures. However, regardless from whether it will be minifig scale or a larger model, the set itself will surely be beautiful and detailed, a considerable step up from the previous play models. -

ITT (based on the trailer)? Never done before as traditional playset. Maybe with the new trend characterizing the X-wing and the TIE Fighter they managed to make it with 276 pieces, including some of the crew members (and, why not, a scout trooper). -

I wish the Nebulon was released worldwide! But I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being another Lego.com/Amazon exclusive in US or North America like the Bespin Duel. -

There's an image (in German) circulating now on the usual place referencing to the new Mandalorian set, but I believe there's no hint to which set will be released. We'll see whether they will manage to prevent leaks before the release of season 2. -

Nice summary, overall good sets, proportions and prices. I'm thinking about what those already owing the X-wing, the Lambda and all existing TIE variants - as myself - will do when these sets will be released. I still prefer the old Lambda and I surely won't upgrade (it would be more a downgrade). Not sure about the X-wing. The previous versions are a bit oversized (and expensive) while this new one seems to be fitting better to minifigs. I might consider it as long as it looks good side by side with Y-wing and A-wing. The TIE Fighter is without any doubt the best set. If they will release more TIE variants I can definitely consider changing my collection. -

Just received an email from Lego with the following promotion: "October double points is coming" Be ready to earn twice as fast with double VIP points on all purchases 08/10-20/10. Better than nothing for those who resisted from buying new 2020 sets until now. Still, it would be better with a GWP in addition to the promotion. -

My mistake, thanks for the correction This means the Nebulon does scale perfectly with the Star Destroyer! I suddently got a wish to own a Star Destroyer and display it with micro imperial and rebel fleets. -

The Star Destroyer is 1,600 m long, while the Nebulon measures 300 m. In LEGO scale, the UCS Star Destroyer is 66 cm long, and a perfectly scaled Nebulon would measure 12 cm, which corresponds to 15 studs. Looking at the pictures, the model seems about 30 studs long, meaning double the size then it should be. Still, I believe they should look good side by side! -

The Nebulon B looks excellent! A pity it is a SDCC exclusive, it would have been a day 1 purchase for me. Still, due to the high interest in latest UCS poll and the current release in limited edition in nano scale, it might be there is a chance for a larger micro scale UCS version in the future. -

While at first glance the new TIE Fighter looked like a caricature to me (probably due to the size of the cockpit), I believe the size is actually quite correct. The real thing is supposed to be 7.5 m high (about 4 persons) and this model should be about the equivalent of 4 minifigs in height. I'm starting liking it! -

As a standalone set it's great, but for collectors who already own some of the previous TIE variants this would look shrunk. If the new TIE Fighter will be well received I hope they will release more TIEs at this scale, including the most iconic Vader's TIE Advance, TIE Interceptor and TIE Bomber. -

It looks somehow like a caricature of the TIE Fighter (the proportions between cockpit and wings are too far off), but it’s sweet. -

These are very good arguments, and I totally agree with your thoughts. I would also add another thing, which is related to size and displayability. The last LEGO system scale version (set 75021) is 40 cm long and 43 cm wide. The minifig scale version from BrickVault is 46 cm long and 43 cm wide. I don't think a set over 50 cm long and wide would be very displayable. It might actually stop some people from buying it due to lack of space. In my opinion, a slighly larger model than the last one with far more details (it's a UCS) would make many people happy: those who want a very detailed and accurate set, those who want a minifig scale model to be filled with their clones army, those who don't want to spend too much buying an overpriced older version, etc. -

The current Millenium Falcon is already scaled down considerably more compared to smaller ships. I therefore believes the upcoming 2021 TIE and X-wing will actually scale better with the existing Falcon. -
