  1. So, no rumors of further promotions (GWP, double VIP points, etc) expected for SW sets in 2020? I’m still waiting to buy the Razor Crest, but it’s not attractive to buy at full price from lego.com right now (with normal VIP points and a Monkie Kid’s Delivery Bike).
  2. I don’t think that scaling down ships is that bad. We are used to it. Normally, the larger the models, the more they are scaled down. Look for instance at the Falcon, or even the Ghost. They still look good close to an X-wing or a TIE. However, those larger models might look even better if X-wings and TIEs would be slightly smaller. I read several comments about which Snowspeeder is best to display with the AT-AT, and most suggested the 4+ (which is very small and lacks of details). On the other hand, I really dislike models which are scaled up (e.g. 501st AT-RT and BARC Speeder), no matter the level of detail.
  3. Could the lack of battle packs for 2021 be justified by a CMF? Is that rumor something possible, or is it just pure speculation?
  4. So, good news for kids, who will get simple play sets, and for parents, who won't need to buy expensive sets to their kids If the UCS will end up being a slighly bigger, detailed and perfectly minifig scale version of the Republic Gunship, AFOLs will be also satisfied and this will more than compensate the lack of new system scale sets.
  5. I think most people liked Hoth and Endor (despite an overall preference towards minifigs as GWP). On the contrary, the Death Star II was a main disappointment when it comes to the choice of the movie and scene, the representation of the scene and the quality of the builds (the last A-wing from the calender is superior for instance). Already the last May the 4th we should rather have got a Tatooine. After three micro builds I guess Lego has turned page exploring this new lightsaber theme.
  6. Far from special. Why changing the GWP again? They could have done with a micro scale Tatooine or Yavin 4. Or gone back to minifigs of course. Anyway, is this GWP limited to those purchasing the cantina? Or will it be a GWP for any SW set (like in previous Force Friday)?
  7. I don’t remember whether it was discussed earlier. Won’t there be any Force Friday this year? I prefer to hold on purchasing from lego.com until there are some promotions/GWP.
  8. New pictures of Mos Eisley Cantina on the usual place. The minifigures look incredible! I like especially the Imperial spy.
  9. Thanks @josebricks, much appreciated! My shelves are 30 cm deep, so I’ll have to either mod the landing gear or get larger shelves. I would preferably exclude the option of not buying the set :D
  10. Could anyone who got the Razor Crest please measure the distance (preferably cm) between the front landing gear and the end of ship tail? Just want to make sure I can display it on my Lego shelves (i.e. I have enought depth).
  11. That’s much more likely.
  12. I wasn’t really so interested in this set until now, but that picture changed my mind! It looks beautiful and very detailed. I do not see any mid-scale Falcon, and I hope there isn’t one. Other sets which many might own (like Luke’s landspeeder, the minifig-scale Falcon, or the Sandcrawler) can be easiliy displayed with this set for an even more complete look. Look forward to see the official pictures.
  13. The metal color of the Razor Crest is definitely darker than that of other ships. Still, Lego has a tendency to use light bluish grey for everything made of metal, with few exeptions (e.g. Mandalorian AT-ST). Dark bluish grey could have been a more interesting choice. This unless Lego decides to introduce new colors like bright silver from Mega Construx.
  14. From the amount of people talking to mod the set I would also conclude it was rushed. Still, it could have been much worst. The exterior, cockpit and sleeping quarter look good. The rest is just empty space, but at least it can easily transport lots of minifigs and/or stuff (even Blurrgs!) unlike for instance the U-wing.
  15. I wonder, is the mouth fixed? It seems the tiles are slightly angled. Could it be that the jaw can be moved down so that the month can be open (baby Yoda smiling)?
  16. Agree! Very sweet and well built. Luckily they learnt from what was wrong in the previous Yoda’s model.
  17. I guess it will be rather expensive to buy it on Bricklink from other regions.
  18. Fantastic build! The Ghost is my favourite ship in the SW universe. I really like the scale if this model. The official LEGO set 75053 is far too small, while BrickVault has already a minifig scale model. This scale is something in between, allowing for more interior space as well as better displayability with other official LEGO sets. I find it excellent that you managed to make the model standing without any additional support at the back. You could replace the two cockpits with the official ones (printed / with stickers) for more accurate look if you find them. Well done!
  19. I have just seen a news video from Beyond the Brick and according to Mike the Bespin Duel will be also distributed to Europe towards the end of the year.
  20. I read this comment regarding the availability of the Bespin Duel set in the Brickset article: By BrickBan in Croatia, 18 Aug 2020 18:08 «I sent an email asking about availability in Europe to the customer service and a week ago they said it will be exclusive to North America. Maybe they changed their mind but I am not sure. I hope it is not a regional exclusive.» I hope the same, this is probably the best small diorama set produced so far. It will look very good on display, for intance on a desk. Fingers crossed.
  21. Evazan’s torso is disappointing. The quality of the skin tone printed on torsos (especially if on dark colors) is rather bad lately.
  22. Just seen Jang’s review of the Night Buzzard. Interestingly, he mentions about a rumor that the design team thought it was a hovertank, which could explain how the set was designed (e.g. the two hatches). Despite this somehow makes sense, even the Imperial Hovertank had more interior space.
  23. That’s true! Still, it’s possible to buy saving money. I only bought a couple of sets directly from Lego, Vader's TIE Advanced vs. A-Wing Starfighter (50% discount) and Slave 1 (I believe 20% discount + GWP). I bought other new sets cheaper from other stores, often waiting some time after release until prices went down or offers came. Or else I bought on marketplace websites a number of used sets very cheap, like Republic Gunship, AT-AT and Rex’s AT-TE for about 20-30€ (!!!). The point is, as AFOL I can be more patient, not buy on day one and wait/search for better prices. I plan to do this with the latest AT-AT and Razor Crest.
  24. So many Falcons have been produced that is very likely almost everyone owns (at least) one. If so, it would be enough to have a small section with access to docking bay 94 (but without the whole docking bay), thus allowing those who already own a Falcon to display it close to this set.
  25. Agree! Despite it just blows up in the movie, the quality of the model, the space inside and the color scheme are very good.
