Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Bugbot20082 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
About that Hogwarts outline from the instructions… it’s clearly only the buildings from the UCS castle (great hall, staircase tower, lookout tower, Viaduct entrance), although made at Minifigure system scale, e.g. no Astronomy Tower, bell towers etc Isit representative of the scope of the new castle or maybe those buildings shown are the first wave or two which they have designed so far? -

Since it’s a human I would expect regular legs, but perhaps borrowing the same cape from the dementors, the head could be double sided with Voldemorts face having the silver drools and teeth showing. Reverse is Quirrel looking nervous. I hope they make full use of Fang and have him in the Aragog set too as well as a detention set! As for the Unicorn, they should have made it the centrepiece of the ‘forest creatures’ set this year instead of the random Buckbeak, it would have been perfect to cover all bases. -

The Polybag is ok, cheap way to get Slytherin torsos and the uncommon barn owl. I Hope this Polybag doesn’t rule out a future Detention in the Forest set with Voldemort, Hagrid, Firenze etc -

I’m very excited for the Durmstrang ship and Beauxbatons carriage, it will look amazing I’m sure. it’s a bit bittersweet though as I have the first carriage set already, and I expect the Hagrid in that will remain exclusive (hopefully not). Hearing Barty Sr is in it is brilliant too! They are listening to us! I’m expecting $100-ship $40-carriage part/budget ratio, with the carriage being a bit smaller and simpler than the original. 2 horses and hopefully no Harry taking a figure space. I assume Igor will be in his white areal coat, one can only dream then we could get his grey coat in an Advent Calendar for example? -

Wishlists for the new Hogwarts system? Mine, focusing on things we have not yet had in a castle module: Umbridge’s office Divination Tower Classroom Bell Towers perhaps with another version of the room of requirement inside. An Affordable Duelling club with new Lockheart Troll on the loose The vanishing Cabinet -

I love the new Hagrid’s Hut, it’s got the best looking roof yet and the furniture is well done, the fire place is rather small this time but I spotted two printed D tiles which look like mittens on the mantelpiece! Norbert is excellent, great to see Fang too although I think he should have been dark grey. The new Hagrid with apron is a wish come true as is the trio all with new prints, but for me Harry’s is too bright and should have been dark green. Owlry is great looking too and I like the snow added too it. The other sets I’ll skip but I’ll probably MOC my own boat house to match this new one out of my existing stock. This wave is very focused on year 1/2 other than the random Buckbeak and thestral with year 1/2 Hermione for some reason. I hope the new wave dips in to the later years too and gives us another couple of Y3-6 Dumbledore’s for example With the new detailed system I also hope we see a proper stand alone green house in future waves (a decent size with a grey frame like the films) with Slughorn too, another character we need more of -

Lol I literally just clicked it 😅 I got the plane chase set a while ago and only just built it this weekend. Very fun building, the car especially is bigger and so much more complex than I expected, I love all the different parts used and how it all comes together to create the classic car shape. Excellent use of the 3x3 round tile for the spare wheel, but they could have added detail to it with with a sticker. -

The skeleton over several days is a neat idea! I can see them doing a T-Rex in scale with the sauropod from the museum set -

Random question, do you think a Jurassic World Advent Calendar would work? There are more baby dinos now and there could be more on the way, they could work in an AC Mini builds of distinct locations or vehicles, Dino food and traps, laboratory equipment, missing characters from the classic movies or new variants etc. recolours of baby dinos etc -
Dr Who would suit a couple of CMF series very well, as many of the monsters are humanoids and therefore fit the standard Minifigure template. It would also be the best way to cover the cost of the new monster head moulds and new hat/hair combos for the classic doctors etc. For regular sets it’s hard to narrow it down as each episode is different but I can think of a couple of sets which should go down well with fans: The Emperor of the Daleks, $50-$60: based on the final of the 2005 revival, comes with 9th doctor, Rose, Jack Harkness, two normal Daleks and a large brick built emperor. $20-$30 The Impossible Planet: Ood attack. 10th Doctor in red space suit, Ood x2, Toby Zed with reversible face with the writing and evil grin, smallish build of the sanctuary base laboratory with an airlock and the yellow lift. $15-$20 Bessie the Doctors car. 3rd Doctor, Joe, the master (Classic) Torchwood Tower UCS modular building (Canary Wharf): ~$300. Based on the series 2 final. Includes the 10th Doctor cybermen, 3 Daleks including the black one and the genesis ark, Rose, Micky, Rose’s mum, Yvonne Hartman, Torchwood scientists and soldiers etc.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion

To be fair that train costume is probably heavy, plus the box will have spares of the smoke plume and the studs too, it might actually be the heavyweight of the series.- 574 replies

Thanks for sharing it! Actually The spreadsheet I had in mind was something like a list of animal species and then three columns for example: Sloth: System ❌| Duplo ✅| Friends ✅ Otter: System ✅| Duplo ❌| Friends ✅ Elephant: System ✅| Duplo ✅ | Friends ✅ Sea Turtle: System ✅| Duplo ✅ | Friends ✅ Tortoise: System ❌| Duplo ✅| Friends ❌ etc

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
Bugbot20082 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That dumbbell mould is a pet peeve of mine 🙈 if I had my way it would have been a standard 3 long bar and two technic balls. It’s irritating to me because it can be replicated with those other parts and the new mould itself doesn’t have any system compatibility other than the handle. The mould budget could have been spent elsewhere.- 574 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion

I think take a chance at buying a handful as soon as you see them at retail, and if it’s from the original box take them from different corners. Then resell the ones you don’t want asap when interest is hottest. Other options are team up with a friend or two and swap/sell figures until you are happy. As the goat herder is the heaviest of the series you might be able to feel the difference it in your hand in store. I managed to do this for the Marvel series and successfully got Agatha (the heavyset figure), although I got two unwanted Kate Bishops at the same time, the 2nd heavyset figure).- 574 replies

The detective even has Clouseau’s moustache, I think it’s a combined tribute of the comedy and classic B&W detective movies. Perhaps we should call him the Noir Panther Detective- 574 replies

Has anyone made a spreadsheet for all animal moulds existing across Lego standard system, friends & duplo? It would be a good way of tracking the gaps

Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I saw this exact book in a shop this weekend, flicked though it but didn’t buy it. It wasn’t for me: most of the builds are like ‘arts and crafts’ type builds: they are on theme but it’s mostly real life sized props etc, pictures, food, wands, the sward, time turner, a pixie and mandrake etc. not much in the way of Minifigure scale stuff, though I did see a moc of the house on the island from PS when Harry meets Hagrid and some Ninjago looking dragons of the short-snout and Chinese fireball (with mixle eyes and wings made of big ninjago blades like feathers) -

Iv got the Polybag and the legs are dark blue to match the torso, not white or tan -
I would be awesome if it came with a little Orthanc model to scale, it’s not often illustrated the difference in size of the two, Barad-dur is like a mountain
-
Thanks! It’s one of my favourite model I ever made :)
-
Hi I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for this thread but I recently uploaded on IG my MOC of Treebeard, the model is designed to scale with the ent from the Orthanc set and follows the same aesthetic and build style of an official set: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyJBROYIdZe/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Bugbot20082 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
There was some future D2C/UCS Discussion earlier and I have some ideas: UCS Hagrid’s Hut: hyper detailed and fully enclosed with all the furniture such as his bed and kitchen. Stands on stilts and has a baseplate with the scarecrow and pumpkin patch & stone wall attached. Griffindor Common Room: a similar style model to the Friends/Big Bang Theory apartments, looks like a replica of the complete film set and has adjacent bedrooms and the fat lady painting on a hinged panel Philosophers Stone challenges: similar to the Indiana Jones temple of the golden Idol collectors model this would be a chain of rooms together as a diorama with each challenge detailed. The chess board would be 1/3 size of the separate set with only a few pieces in play for the climax of the game. Includes a light brick for the Lumos spell, re-use of Fluffy’s moulded heads but different prints, a devil snare with a trap mechanism, flying keys on trans rods which can be move via knobs/levers, pop-up flames around the Mirror etc. Tri-wizard tournament Dragon challenge: half of an arena with rocky base and four complete Minifigure scale dragons of similar quality to the new Ukrainian Ironbelly (new mould for the Horntail head). Includes 4 champions, 3 head teachers, Barty Sr, Moody and Rita Skeeter in scene accurate clothing. UCS Chamber of Secrets: this is a detailed static display model of the statue of Slytherin with a brick-built Basilisk (4 studs wide like the video game version) reared up for the climax of the battle with Harry standing on the top of the statue head.
