Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Agreed, I think these banners are a continuation/reboot of the moments books. Hopefully with lots of nice stickers still and more new variants of characters. I have a few other random thoughts on these: I always wondered why the books were called ‘moments’ rather than ‘lessons’, or ‘classes’ etc…maybe they had ambitions for a long line of these expending into non-lesson scenes? Tom Riddle’s CoS Memory for example, or the missing PS challenges? The house banners might be a soft reboot of the books in response to customer feedback…. Lego is always listening and adapts/changes course form each year to the next. These sets are slightly larger part count than the moments books but I wonder if the increased price also covers 4 figures rather than 3? (Wishful thinking) If they are student/teacher sets then here are some of my ideas: Ravenclaw: Lockheart (gold cloak), Hermione, Neville, Ravenclaw student, 2 pixies. Gryffindor: Lupin, Harry, Padma, Dementor, clown in the box Slytherin: Slughorn, Shamus, Pansy, Slytherin student. New print for Felix potion. Hufflepuff: (scratching my head now), Sprout (DH appearance), Ernie Macmillan, Ron, Hufflepuff student. A better Devils snare, venomous tentacula. -
I love these kind of surveys, here is mine: 1 Recolour of the dove as a European Robin. This should have come with the snowman CMF this year, so maybe it could come in a future winter village set instead. 2 a pet tortoise. About the same size of the turtle, could come in a pet shop or CMF series as accessory to a Charles Darwin tribute figure. 3 a fox, about the size of the skunk but taller. Could be recoloured lots of ways (orange, white, sand blue/dark grey etc). I would expect it in a city set with a henhouse. 4 Adult kangaroo, a large mould like the new foal, in a CMF series with a figure based on Crocodile Dundee for example. 5 Wild boar. Bigger than the existing pig mould & complimented with the existing cow horns as tusks. The new piglet could also be reused as a boar piglet in tan colour with spots etc. In a castle theme set with Forest men & some trees.

I think they could try a recolour of an existing hood pice and use that in combination with the material cape. question is though what colour as to blend with the reflective material -

For the U.K. version Kittens, all three squirrels, baby turtle, chimpanzee are all up :) Also ice cream costumes & splats, acorn printed tile, new wigs including the unpainted black hair for Violet/Cho Chang etc Jane Goodall’s face and body I also noticed also I think all of the printed parts for the globe ideas set. Also there is the new sort filter ‘newest’ which is very handy! Although I found that similar items were not grouped together. -

Looking forward to the RoR set most of all, I hope it does include the vanishing cabinet & Diadem (new element?). Draco in his black suit would also be excellent 👍 I’m imagining a layout like the hospital wing but with a double width middle section with the hidden door For me the RoR (hidden things) is the perfect dumping ground for all the extra furniture etc from the advent calendars -

7 printed figures is a generous For an advent calendar, and they have lots of new prints and recolours which is nice. I’m very pleased to get an extra Snape to put in the SS or GP etc, he a very uceful repeat! Most of the builds sadly are going to get taken apart and recycled, I might use the mini bus as a toy in Zonko’s but that’s about it. Future Advent calendars still have lots of potential, I would like to see them return to the specific movie/party theme and give us more new variants and C list characters etc. Slug Club (Could give us Cormac), Bill’s Wedding (Complimenting a small set with the tent and main characters the AC could give us Doge, Lovegood and Muriel), Hogsmeade is another theme which could have Aberforth as an exclusive etc im not sure where the spinner is in the AC, I can’t see a symbol for it on any day and it’s technically a 25th build. It would make economical sense for it to be packed with Hedwig, that would balance out the parts per day. Also lol at the shop at home 360 render: Harry’s toso prints are backwards -

That sounds really nice actually, a beautiful idea. But I would swap Madame Hooch for either Lee Jordan as a commentator or Lockheart in his green outfit from the bludger scene in CoS -

I think they could cover most of the figure variants and props which are missing from HBP with an advent calendar (Cormac in quidditch or party outfit, Draco in a suit, the crystal sink, Tom Riddle from the memory, Slughorn in pyjamas, the assassination props etc). The biggest omission for me is the vanishing cabinet in the room of requirement/hidden things, that definitely needs to be in a future set, which could also be DH based including the diadem. -

I’m up for more moments sets too, they could do common rooms or other lessons (a set with a new Lockheart and more pixies would be marvellous, the CoS can’t be a one-off use of the new mould). Lego is very attentive and pro-active at making changes to their systems/ range based on customer feedback, so I guess maybe the change in direction was due to some criticisms of the moments books? too small, too many stickers, not enough figures etc (I’m guessing). so they decided to break formula and try something a bit different Some other ideas for what the sets could be based on: The Duelling club (Snape, Lockheart, Draco, Harry) the Boggart lesson (Lupin, Harry, dementor, clown in the box?) Troll in the bathroom as others have said (three figures) the final challenge with Quirrel I really hope one of the two $40+ Sets is a Forbidden Forest with a new Hagrid, Fang, Firenze, Voldemort etc from the detention, that’s one of my dream missing sets: worth buying multiple of for the figures -
I’ll get all these as I enjoy the licence, the prints and new moulded heads look great. I hope we get a hammerhead down the line and more gunships. The AMP suit is much smaller than I expected compared to LEGO’s usual approach to Mechs, some of the part choices are weird too, they should have used a different knife and the yellow gun(?) build I don’t recognise. I can MOC my own gun and will show it here in time. Samson build is rather messy looking, needs more smoothing over & looks a bit short and fat in proportion. Maybe it looks better from above rather than low angles. I like the build of the pod base, looks well detailed overall and looks as I expected 👍. I like that it’s big enough that the wheelchair fits inside too. The door & ramp and the way it opens up makes it very playable. I hope the eye loops are strong enough that if you use some string you can lift the base up with the helicopter.😁

Banchees’ look nice, looks like they also have posable jaws which is excellent, they look very well done 👍 The side build of rocks though is tiny! I was expecting a lot more volume of bricks for the price :/

Sets I would love to see: Hagrid’s flying motorcycle & sidecar Lovegood house Bill’s wedding, could also be expanded with an advent calendar Moments books for the house common rooms with students like Pansy, Ginny, Blaize, Lee Jordan A Hogwarts expansion with the key room & final challenge. Add to this Professor Vector as a bonus to make it desirable for everyone. The Duelling Club. We need lots more Lockheart variants A Hogwarts module cantered about the goblet of fire ceremony & the photoshoot afterwards: Y4 Dumbledore, 4 champions in their school robes, Rita Skeeter, the twins with 87999 beard wig in grey. they could use a light brick feature to make the fire look like it’s changing colour A large castle module for the battle of Hogwarts: Grey lady Ghost, Shamus, the Carrows Etc as exclusives, rooms include the hideout room with hammocks and the door portrait and the room of requirement with the diadem (and vanishing cabinet) -

I bit the bullet and ordered 12GP and the carriage together and qualified for the staircase, no Polybag sadly (U.K.) -
I expect wave 2 will be based on the new film, but if not I hope for some more movie 1 sets, I got some ideas to complete all the main cast and memorable things from the movie: Attack on Home Tree: includes Olo'eyktan (clan leader) for example, main build is the massive Dragon gunship. Includes some interior such as the Leonopteryx head coloured as a skull. Solitary set of a scorpion gunship, against some nameless archers etc Stampede Attack: A brick built Hammerhead Titanothere & Sturmbeest. AMP mech piloted by Lyle Wainfleet A ~$40 Forest expansion pack with lots of creatures & plants: Direhorse, Hexapade, Prolemuris x 2, Tall trees for them etc. Includes Grace’s avatar A small <$20 set based on the viperwolf ambush, plants are coloured for the night look & have lots of glowing parts included Hells Gate base & the Shuttle: The main build is the Shuttle, side build is a tower building with the Avatar Lab room with tube tank & base HQ on top. figures include Jake’s avatar (lab coat), the other scientists, Parker Selfridge etc

That’s a really neat idea I like that -
I think the printing is a bit off on the faces, it looks like on all of the pictures I have seen that the face print itself is a little low on the face so they all end up with small chins and a gap between the blue strips and the hairline. If they got that adjusted they would look a lot better Is a second wave confirmed already btw?

An advent calendar without a Christmas tree, colection of presents, snowman, sled, or a festive/Santa figure no way! Also the GWP looks amazing, definitely going to try to get this, and an extra sticker sheet if I can Wonderful to finally see the fat lady portrait, it fits very well on the new panel part inside the archway frame. They can still do a Griffindor common room set or moments book in the future: with the Dawn French version instead :D -

Getting an extra Snape too and a armchair Slughorn is great! Makes me wish though that we got a full Slughorn figure in his pyjamas… maybe that will be an exclusive next year :D -
I admit also they do look a bit funny, perhaps they chose the new head in order to to have a long neck, a regular Minifigure head looking rather sunken compared to the elongated limbs. And then the fused ears in the new head saves cost of not painting/moulding ears into the hair I like The look of the set overall, the tree of souls was not my first choice of location as it’s pretty static and is mostly decorative, but I’m super happy to see the dedicated moulded head and new wing foils for the Great Leonopteryx, including articulated jaw and printed(?) patterns for the bricks on the back of the body. the packaging doesn’t do the creature build justice I think, I can’t wait to swoosh this 😁 . The new horse is fine too, like the Thestral body it’s rigid but it’s ok, but I think it should have been moulded in a darker more purple colour

I finally got round to finishing the Hospital wing and the latest two moments books. Very enjoyable overall, absolutely love the Pomfrey figure & skele-grow bottle 😊, the bean box and new owl all make it worth the price, especially at discount. Can’t say the same for the new Sirius rescue which has the same price but the box is the same size as the old £30 Uruk-Hai army. I hope we get another wave of moments sets with a new Lockheart (I can imagine a pearl gold or medium azure book cover for his lesson), and a Lupin lesson with the mirror wardrobe. If they are looking for more ideas a moments set for each for the two common rooms seen in the movies would work really well. They can incorporate the secret entrances into the folding out walls with the fat lady and Sir Cadogan as stickers etc. Three students with no teacher figure though (year 3/4 Ginny, Seamus, a new Percy, Draco, Blaise and Pansy would be my choice) -

I second this. AC’s are a great way of getting round some of the rules Lego has on the main sets (avoiding death scenes, pubs/alcohol, year 7 in general) or doing more overlooked characters: we could have got Tom the bartender, Rufus, Xenophilius, Aunt Marge, Aberforth, Bill Weasley, Barty Crouch Sr, Mundungus, the Grey Lady or Fat Friar ghost etc, any of which would be suited for the scope of an AC (no new moulds for example) but perhaps not quite deserving of a CMF slot etc. I welcome repeats in a AC if they are desirable and rare to help poorer families on a budget (OotP Sirius and Tonks for example), but to waste 2 or 3 prints of the budget on a rehash from the last CMF stinks for me personally. It would’t even be so bad if it was a Gambon Dumbledore again as that was last seen in 2018 (excluding the clock tower variant), or better yet we could have got a HBP black-handed variant of him. I can only imagine she has some integral role for the game or interacts with some of the builds somehow maybe (I’m expecting a sink or even a toilet 😅) -

Nice to see it clearer. The previous GoF is superior I think, many of these builds seems to be on the small side. Seeing as it’s alone I expect the Hedwig will come with the Harry Figure So in total we know of 10 gifts: Harry & Hedwig, Neville & sword, Sirius, Tonks, Myrtle, Voldemort, Train, Goblet with printed tile, mini willow tree & car, mini pitch hoops. Add to that if it’s a game then one day might be another spinner or a dice, so we now know 11 out of 24 :) I’m excited to see what else they have in store, the Yule ball calendar kept the golden egg secret and that was one of my favourite things from that year! Btw have we ever had arm printing in an Advent Calendar? -
Relay hyped for this theme!, the leaked set descriptions are very similar to my wish lists; give and take a couple of figures and the whole wave together covers pretty much all the content spread over my wishlists. I’m so glad too that the first wave of sets is based on the first movie only, better they hold off on the sequel until they get access to the final designs and plot details :) I’m so so so excited for the great Leonopteryx especially; it’s an amazing and original creature design and I will love to hang it somewhere on display, and they have learned their lesson from the Harry Potter Hungarian Horntail and are giving each animal a new moulded head 👍 The figure count is a bit light for the prices, but hopefully the prints and details make up for it. Fingers crossed the next wave includes the hammerhead and the small wolves and more scenery, I would love a smallish ‘Forest’ set which you could get multiple of to build up more environments the pose the creatures and figures in

The figure list has also given me ideas for some of the builds too: I can imagine a bathroom sink, Nagini, shelf of prophecies, maybe the veil/arch…
