Everyone thanks for contest. It was fun, and honestly, im surprised that mine entry isnt last... (i totally expected it to drag on last place, as i know that my MOC skills are much inferior to most people there.) But this TC encouraged me to at least to try make something new, instead just building by instruction. And i definitely would try to make more of such simple an clean models as my entry...

Thank you for clarification. Edit - just checked photos of old Daihatsy Hijet. You were right :) -

Bonus: Suspension and steering are modular. Its easy to make vehicle LHD or RHD. Steering type could be rack and pinion, or just links like in 42093, or 42124. And whole suspension with engine could be changed without modifying base chassis. Example - road version without suspension, but with narrower track and classic 2 piston big engine. LXF file for road version. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/x4vendnmasq4ltwwsriv5/Road-basher.lxf?rlkey=b53bfzp2qcaovmln339ck7lh1&dl=1 -

Its totally adorable. I would suggest to add brick or beam built fuel tank to a side, behind cabin. Also are those rims legit for TC? -

[TC27] Dune basher retro

Some more progress - chassis rebuild in proper colours, slightly modified rear springs placement, which resulted in slightly softer rear suspension, first version body outline. -

Just built a test chassis from spare bin parts (thus colour vomit and some strange parts substitutes)... Well, in some places it need reinforcement, but all functions works perfectly. It rolling VERY smoothly. For this scale i cheated and made rear suspension very simple, like in 42124 - its just a trailing arm that can swing only up and down. Overall, im very satisfied how chassis came out. -
Hi. I decided to give new TC a try. Im not sure if i manage to finish this small car, before my enthusiasm run out... Main idea - make simple skeletal car in style of early technic vehicles like 8865, with minimal bodywork made of beams and connectiors. Right now i have a rolling chassis in ldd, but it still needed to be built and tested in physical build. I managed to implement in simple chassis all features that i wanted: I4 engine with diff on rear axle, basic suspension and working steering wheel. Now the harderst part left - to desgin vehicle body.

Friend on my b-day gifted me one Cada set - C64001W. And i pleasantly impressed, for it's price it really awesome. Result is very solid - It's body and fairings are built like tank, and looks very stylish. Function wise its rather light - kickstand, rear suspension and steering (if it can be called like that :) ) Build uses alot of unique Cada's elements, like beams with pins on the end, or even leinght flip-flop beams. Parts quality was very decent. Front wheel smaller then rear - while rear are regular current bike wheel, front similair to old white bike wheel.

Tyre diameter, not wight matters here... ANd for contest - i cant, its 50% your creation, and 50% original lego set...Mine credit here is only in joining two together... LXF file for those who want to build it or study. (use with lastest community db) https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/taasrxm5ltwbqti7yb7wz/42098-offorad.lxf?rlkey=la24a7lbyhoh2dg29tk5hsenk&dl=1

I like this small set. It looks much more impressive in reality than on photos. My biggest gripe after I build it, was bad steering system, with massive slack and pity turning radius… So I modded it. Now it has normal rack-and-pinion steering with better turning radius, (approx 1,5 times better than original) less slack and much more response. If anyone would be interested - ill make LDD file with all needed changes.

42164 Off-Road Buggy
Arioh replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I used 5,5 L axle in engine, its easier to position and build engine with it then with 5 L one. And yes, you correct, Spring fully relaxed only when pendum of rear suspension is centered, but when it tilted - spring compresses and troes to return body in neutral position. -

BIG thank you for .io file. 42164 totally sucseed my expectations - its small, but very fun to roll around set. Tilt steer makes it stand out from other small vehicles. It quick and responsible. Pendular suspension makes it to roll nicely over small obstacles. Also set looks really great wthout yellow parts. (build mine from spares, thus minor differences in details) -

This set totally got my attention. While space theme is fresh and outlandish in goo way, i doubt that i will get any of them. But this small buggy gives me strong 42022 B-Model and 42124 vibe. Most likely will be my only purchase from first wave of 2024 sets... And 100% will build it from my spares when instruction will be avalible.. -
42148 Snow Groomer
Arioh replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
After rethinking, i guess that most likely it would be B variant - regular black 4L axle that held on one side 16t gear used as sprocket, and on other side by wheel itself... -

Looks like really nice tiny set... Is it wrong that few last years my most enjoyable sets are those starter ones? (not counting epic 42129) And here my try to recreate it in ldd... Only ptentional downside could be that i predicting using 9L axle on rear sprockets.... (its black on official renders. not dbg or reddinsh brown that 4l and 5l with stop are)
