There are some crossover units between Rebels and Rogue One, though - The Ghost and the Hammerhead Corvette come to mind. I'd buy a model of the latter in a heartbeat.

I'm going to go ahead and say "whew, thank goodness I don't have to worry about this one." For starters, I think real gingerbread is yucky stuff, so I'm in no way driven to own a Lego version. More importantly, the house itself is hideous - especially that massive fireplace front-and-center. It looks like a throwback McMansion from the early 1990s.

Uh, well, for starters, I have absolutely no idea how it's made. I never owned technic kits as a kid. Second, I said "if" he ever made a 6w model - not "go make a 6w model for me right now." There's an enormous difference. Prefacing something with "not to be rude" isn't a free pass to turn around and be exactly that.

Wow, that is glorious. Nice job! Making it a Mack gives it that classic cool. If you ever do the 6w, would you mind sharing the .lxf? I'd like to build it, and - knowing Lego - even if the original design makes it, they'll probably reject it anyway :P.

I know I'm not the only person who likes Lego garbage trucks. These stinky vehicles - which I admittedly do pretty much everything possible to avoid IRL - for some reason really seem to transition well into this medium. And this probably helps explain why Lego has made a habit of releasing them once every 1-2 years (although, unfortunately, 2019's version is a Junior's set that more resembles a dump truck than something working for waste management). However, I'd argue that nothing Lego has ever done has come close to approaching this Lego ideas project: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7d7f4e15-55e7-44c4-bb30-3a66b9cc0598 In my part of the world, these side-armed vehicles are now the "standard" garbage truck in residential areas. And, not only does this kid (or, at least, the person doing the narration on the video is a child; I'm pretty convinced the design is by an actual adult) properly nail the proportions of this machine, but the inner workings are bang-on, too. Normally, I try not to worry over Ideas stuff in general, but this submission really deserves to make it to 10k, and - at least by my estimate - it isn't going to get there in the next year unless word spreads. I have absolutely no connection to the truck's creator, but I'd like to own this one, so it would be nice to see people spread the word a little.

I don't get the sense that it was very popular. I think people were hoping for a model of CC with some interior portions. Instead, they got a bunch of scenes smushed into a very crude Cloud City shape.

Yes. I try to pretend the new films don't exist. It's depressing, because I love Star Wars (I even love the prequels), but every time Lego does a line of episode 7-9 stuff, I just breeze on by the toy aisle. :(

There is a ton of wobble there.

One that might have been interesting would be a unique Thrawn and Pellaeon combo.

The rigidity of the shell seems to derived from layering large plates, so adding tiles would probably enhance its strength. The problem I foresee with the design is moving it at all. Even picking up this model in the wrong way may prove fatal.

Is anyone else concerned about this sudden trend towards unaffordable UCS sets? Within recent memory, the higher-priced of these collector's models were a few hundred bucks. That's still a lot for what amounts to plastic, but it was still generally in line with, say, high quality injection-molded ship or tank fine-scale models, or a DCC & sound equipped model railroad locomotive. This Star Destroyer, however, is in a different class. I like Lego, and I'm an adult professional. But I cannot justify $700 for something like this. It's the difference between a luxury and an excess for me. It was one thing when the Millennium Falcon came out, and it was a very good value per-part and an extremely iconic ship that you could write off as a one-off. But this set just made it a pattern... and - the set's flaws (as I perceive them) notwithstanding - it's pricing me right out of the game.

You know, looking at the interior in the video, it doesn't look all that sturdy. Whenever I see big voids inside a model covered only by huge, flat panels, I worry. A lot.

This is just me, but I think there's a certain point when size becomes counterproductive. The model is enormous, but: - Isn't really to scale with anything else Lego is selling. - Doesn't have an interior. - Doesn't have many (if any) play features. - Lacks the high minifigure count of similarly sized sets. - Doesn't make an effort to conceal studs. Frankly, my reaction is deteriorating the more I look at it. I'm experiencing shadows of last year's Echo Base.

So it's 700 bucks without any interior or interesting play features? Jeez, that is enormously disappointing. I had been waiting on this, but it's a no-brainer pass. ::edit:: Also, just 3 minifigs? Why??

I love the ghostly knight - Lego ghosts are always amazing. I'll probably buy like 5-6 of those; perhaps more to create a "ghost knight army." The mummy queen is great, the explorer is a cool throwback figure, the monkey king is neat simply for cultural appeal, and the fox girl could be very useful for creating some furry-like or athro characters. Most disappointing? Well, as usual, I feel like food suit minifigs are duds, so pizza guy is basically a hole in the lineup. I also think the shower guy and the bear are pretty much DOA. Overall, as far as the series go, I think this one is pretty strong.

Look at the original California Bear Flag - the first one they ever flew was horrible. I think a flag is a flag, and its quality depends entirely on the talents of the person creating it.
