Well, if the advent calendar bellhop is being an inspiration for thinking there might be a WV hotel, then it should also be noted that there is a grocer figure in advent calendar. So maybe that signals a food market of sorts. I appreciate that you don't want to get your hopes up and all that, but I would like to remind you that the subject of this discussion thread is Winter Village Rumors and Discussion. I don't believe anyone here is trying to spread blatantly false information, but this is a discussion thread to discuss rumors, it's in the title. And often rumors are not true.

I think we are all just presenting the information that has been presented to us to try to be helpful. I mean, it's not up to us, our opinion does not matter in terms of when things will come out, but I always felt like this was a space where we could talk about our shared love of WV safely. I certainly meant no disrespect nor was attempting to spread false information when I passed along what I had seen on Youtube. This rancor over such a trivial subject is baffling to me and does not represent the experience I have had on here over the last 4 years.

I saw a video from a pretty reliable youtuber, and he indicated October 3rd. The video was from Wednesday or Thursday. He doesn't really get into speculation. I was bummed when I saw that as well. That said, it might still release in Europe on the 1st, they have been staggering big releases to minimize issues I think. So... we might still find out what it is soon. Maybe. PLEASE LEGO!!!!

Oh definitely. An inn would also be appropriate for a village. Like in Newhart.

That would be cool, though I think of bed and breakfast more in a village then a hotel that employs a bellhop.

I will be picking up the Christmas Tree for sure, but as to whether I use it for a home decoration, or use it in my village, remains to be seen.

Yes, you are correct. Perhaps I should have said now that there is a reindeer mold available in the last few years, it opens up the possibility of a stable. I guess new is a relative term. It was not my intent to confuse anyone.

Yeah, the Elf Clubhouse was a surprise, especially on the heels of the Gingerbread house. I guess I keep thinking there will be a pattern to the releases, like every 4 years we do a fantasy set, every 10 years we do a train set. I did kind of hope the Gingerbread house was an option, based on the fact they had done a little one, but I did not see the Elf Clubhouse coming. Guess it sounds better then Elf Barracks though.

I just had another thought as I was planning my Winter village. I was looking to see about getting two more reindeer battle packs (Santa's Sleigh), one to give my sleigh the full 8, and one to create a reindeer stable. And then it hit me. They may be so excited to use their new reindeer mold, they might do a Reindeer stable. The real question being in that case if it is human or Elf operated.

I think a village library would be very cool. I feel like TLG does plenty of bookstores, but a village library would be very nice.

Alright, so the word on the street is the WV set will be released Sept 1st instead of Oct 1st. That is about 7 weeks away. Hopefully we will find out what the next set is in early August at the latest. There have been 13 sets, one of which was remake (toy store). I don't think they will do another fantasy set, and I don't think they are up for a new train yet, and they just did a house. So, my theory is they are going to do one of two things. Either a store/business of some kind, or an outside scene, like a winter faire, or an elaborate ice pond/fishing shack, or a ski lodge kind of thing. If they do a store I think they could have some fun with a candy shop, But my dream set is that they do some sort of build with a track compatible/big enough for power functions, trolley. I think having a main street trolley being able to go up and down the set would give it a lot of kinetic energy, drawing your eye to the different builds as it goes in front of them. Anyhow, what do you guys think?

I am excited about the 5 Christmas themed mini figs in the set 23. A new elf is great, and I would love a small line up of nutcracker soldiers to line the path to santa's village.

FYI, it looks like you can buy the Skiing Santa for 5 dollars at Target starting Dec 4th, as well, so if that works for you. So, yeah, bummer about the 2nd GWP. Last years GWP in Dec was great, the ice skating pond. I wonder if they sold so well in November they just don't feel then need or have the inventory to incentivize Dec purchases even more.

I picked up two sets of road plates and tons of matching gray smooth 2x4 pieces because I intend to add them, and run my train track next to them.

I've already got the WV train station, so the Disney station would not be in the village, it might be the station for Santa's Village though. I am expanding my layout to 6 feet by 7 feet this year to create a big gap between the Winter Village and Santa's Village part of the set, so hopefully with the extra space, things won't be super crowded and have to be right next to each other. But in terms of the trains being different scales, the reality is that there hare regular gauge and narrow gauge trains in the real world, so it happens. Interestingly enough though, the Disney Train in real live is narrow gauge, but in my Winter Village it will be the bigger train.

Thanks for the head's up. I picked up the Disney Train instead. I can pick up the HP set at Target anytime, and if it's not in this years layout, it will be in next years. But I would have kicked myself for missing the Disney Train. Hopefully I will get it before Christmas, but either way....

I am planning on picking it up tonight along with the taj mahal (thats a gift) to get to the 170+ to get the GWP, and it will be to add to my layout. I already use the HP train since I think it's looks good in the village. So I will have two HP sets in my WV. I don't know what I am going to do if I really like the 2nd GWP, because I honestly don't need any more lego sets.... except the Disney Train.... Which I will also add to my WV. But that is a CHUNK of change.

I totally agree about the frustration regarding WV lego's and the GWP, and this maddening secrecy. In the past I have waited till the GWP's to snag sets, but last year I missed out on the nutcracker and wreath with that strategy. So this year I picked up the WV, Sleigh and Penguin, as well as last years wreath and nutcracker either before or during double points. As for the GWP's, I really only care about them if they can be used in the WV. So while I would not mind having the Christmas Coral set, I can live without it, but the ice skating pond was AMAZING for the WV. So, this year I would like to know what the GWP's are, because they both have title's that indicate they might both be appropriate for my village. I really don't understand the secrecy. Esp with sets like the Titanic and Star Wars UCS sets, which are so expensive, that many of us would have to budget for them. And if Lego does not show us the product until 2 weeks before it goes on sale, then I am less likely to plan on getting it. Well, good luck to everyone in getting what they want!

I was able to hold out till double VIP points to order my Santa's visit. I managed to get one of the sleighs earlier, so we are good to go with some solid add ons to the winter village. Now to see what the GWP are...I suspect one will be winter village friendly and one will be more like a scene like last years scrooge.

I will use mine to expand my "mall santa" photo op display area in the town square, the idea being they are static plastic models instead of real animals.

Got one sleigh, plus last years wreath, and one of the Halloween sets. I am holding out for the double VIP to get the cottage.... fingers crossed.
