  1. Oooooo! I LOVE that idea! I could totally see an American Indian people pack with lots of indians, deer, bows/arrows, tents...LOVE IT! And a Victorian-type people pack with a Governor, Queen, King, Prince, Street Sweeper, Carolers (think Robert8's cool ones from his custom series!), street urchins, cabman...I am totally gonna make an IDEAS project of that! And we could even have an Oriental type people pack with awesome Eastern folks (emperor, prime minister, laborers - kind of like what we had in the LEGO Ninjago Movie sets, only more historically accurate). I would especially like to see a "Famous People" battle pack or something like that - we could see Benjamin Franklin, Queen Elizabeth II, Mohatmas Ghandi, Thomas Edison, and lots more! (Suggestions, please?) Man! I just got my head in a whirl with superb possibilities! I wanna to write to Kjeld Kirk Christansen himself and tell him to make these! ("Dude, you should totally look up this obscure post on this website most people haven't heard of and make the sets that these two random LEGO enthusiast folks are tentatively suggesting!" lol. Yeah, I can see why they just might not make them... ) But realities aside, they could call the theme Historica, or something similar. (Any ideas, guys?)
  2. Number one on my list would have to be (drumroll, please:) Taking. Things. Apart. Constantly. I was never really the kind of kid who could just leave well enough alone- there was always some higher, Holy-Grail-like epitome that I could build just by sacrificing a few well-loved but stale-by-now creations. Of course, I photo documented some of the creations that I made before disassembling them, but as I got better I realized that I'd never be good enough to the point where I could expect to not take a creation apart. So eventually I just gave up trying to keep them together and instead I focused on building newer and better versions, even if it meant losing the original idea that drove the build in the first place. Another thing: Never be afraid to ask relatives, neighbors or friends, "Hey, do you, like, have some old LEGO in your attics that I could, like, have?" I've gotten some really good ones from friends, neighbors, cousins.....got a Lord of the Rings set in great condition once. And most of the parts from the Star Wards brown droid carrier thingy. (Which of course got promptly disassembled and integrated into a mansion, which was then transformed into a haunted house, which was then turned into the Sign of the Three Broomsticks from Harry Potter, and then into a bank, and then a hotel, which has remained built for half a year- a personal record.) Third thing: Never be afraid to trade. (Hah! That rhymes!) I've gotten reeeeealy done in by trades before when I wanted something for a creation or MOC minifig assembly (bother you, little brother with light fingers!), but I'm much better at trading for what I want and getting a good trade. For instance, I "traded" (a.k.a. totally ripped off, because he had no idea how much they cost in the marketplace) for most of my best friend's LEGO minifigs that were in good condition, back when we were still pre-teens. He still likes me and LEGOs, though, so I guess I didn't really swindle him out of anything. (Of course, he had been given most of them in the first place by a random person at a Walmart who happened to have several tubs of LEGO in their trunk...never be afraid to ask for free LEGOs!) Dude, have you ever tried out www.shopgoodwill.com? THAT's where all the good LEGO deals go, lol! When the thrift stores and stuff finally caught on to how much LEGO reselling was worth (LEGO listings on eBay have sold over $15 million this year alone!) they started selling them online! With a little well-phrased LEGO searching online, you can make some really good purchases! Check it out!
  3. Bother. I reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyy want some NOW! And it's looking like I'll have to wait a week! Or more! NOT FAIR, LEGO! Well, they are just starting the printing runs. I'd be willing to bet a case of Simpsons Series 2 that the next run will be significantly better, with clearer printing and stuff. I remember that when the LEGO Movie 2 series first came out, all the minifigures I got in the first month had fuzzy faces and not-quite-clear printing, but after a month when Walmart got a new shipment in, the printing had improved drastically. So hopefully we'll see that with these... I know, right? About 30+ people have told him that, but he always says that he's a chemist, not a designer! It's a shame...I'd shell out the big bucks for LEGO to officially produce some of his Series N minifigs!
  4. Man... I didn't know that TRU still had stores open? I thought that they all closed down? Is there one near me? I wanna get my mitts on some soooooo baaaaaad.....
  5. Sand green, dark tan and light grey colors would be best, I think. If I was making it, I would make something like the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Also, one of the camper kids should be a girl. All of them would have similar torsos (but not necessarily the exact same). Maybe arm the counselor, like, with a crossbow or something, for dramatic effect? That would be funny! And perhaps there should be a tree nearby, with bats in it.
  6. Heh, try searching for 75950 (Aragog's Lair, which was a cool set by the way). They sell wands, all right! Stinks that they don't sell clone pieces, though - I was going to build a huge Clone Army if they did.
  7. They should totally do it. I like the idea! You could have different sets like a "Mayor's Unveiling" set with the mayor on a platform and a crowd and news team. Maybe he could be dedicating a statue or something. Then there could be a big Downtown News Station as the keystone set, with a news van and six minfigures, rotating radar dish n the top, a "working" printing press and a little television studio with a reporter interviewing someone. Cool!
  8. WHERE DID YOU GET THEM?????? Who has them in stock? I always thought that the Series 15 knight was the Frightening Knight! I would have preferred "spooky knight" or something similar...
  9. But they did that with the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 IDEAS set....had the same torso with different initials. That was really the only different thing about the minifigs. (Besides the heads.) I like the idea of a Boy Scouts/outdoors theme!!! Maybe you could borrow Robert8's idea for a Lake Fisherman and have him as the Camp Counselor. That would be cool! Here are my ideas, to add to your roster for a Boy Scouts theme: Have a set where there's a fishing championship - with lots of fish, a section of water, two canoes or rafts, three minifigures (one counselor and two scouts) and more! The rods could attach to the boats. The minifigures could have great reversible heads! threre could also be a dock and a small boat house for the canoe! Maybe even a 4 wheeler and trailer? Another set where there's 5 minifigures around a campfire with tents (4 camper kids and one counselor). They're telling each other scary stories, but behind the storyteller is a monster minifigure! Awesome! Inside the tents could be lots of good accessories, like camping stoves, lanterns, axes, etc. The tents would be fabric, like the ones in Indiana Jones Jungle Duel. I'd like to see a return of the cloth tents - they're a lot more versatile. The minifigure's heads could all be reversible, from "Mneh - I'm not interested" to "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH! IT'S REAL AND COMING AFTER US!!!" , a.k.a. all out minifigure terror. I would like to see more non-Star Wars sets with torsos that are the same - I'm into large groups of similar minifigures (gangsters, mobsters, policemen, etc) and ama lways looking for more versatile torso designs that are relatively cheap. And the cornerstone set could be a Giant Lodge set, with mounted animal heads inside and tables for people to eat at, not to mention bunks alongside the walls and rustic furniture (think lots of printed wood-grain elements). Totally cool! And with the recent release of the Treehouse (IDEAS) then it would be more likely to spark interest in the community, because of there being multiple "outdoors feel" sets available! Preferably 8 minifigures - 6 kids and 2 counselors. Also, all the kids would have teen legs, because they're so much better than the stiff "kid legs" that they still use for little kids and Yoda. If you do make any of these into IDEAS projects, then totally let me know here and I'll vote for them first thing! ;)
  10. The female heads are from Flower Pot girl (Series 18). The winking head on the far right is Lance's, from Nexo Knights. It might be reversible. The dark blue pants with brown belts and stuff are both from Jurassic World's Owen Grady. Can't place the "Champs" torso, but I do know that the Build-A-Minifigure towers occasionally have exclusive torsos or pants so I might have to pick up a few. I can usually build a few complete Series minifigures whenever I visit my local LEGO store, so that's what I tend to do.
  11. Hey, is it me or is that helmet on the Bounty Hunter the same one that LEGO used in the TRON: Legacy IDEAS set for the Rinzler minifigure? Except with printing?
  12. Mannnn......I was almost convinced to move that Bounty Hunter up a notch, too...
  13. Could be. I personally think LEGO should sue Lepin and shut them down - but it would be like playing a game of "Pop Goes The Weasel", because as soon as one off-brand could be shut down, another would pop up in its place. If you search for Lepin on Google, over 6 million results pop up. Crazy..... When I searched on Lepin's website, though, no Series 19 anything appeared in my searches. I have heard an un-authenticated rumor that LEGO actually owns Lepin, or allows its Chinese factories to produce it, thus allowing them to sell to the lower class of "I-don't-care-if-it's-LEGO-or-not-I-just-want-the-bricks". Also, it would allow LEGO to sell things and make money (ie., light sets and IDEAS set copies) without having to stray from their official creed. But I squashed the idea in the bud. (Well, I tried to.) Maybe if someone could pull up some hard evidence of who owns the off-brands, I could really prove it to the disbeliever that LEGO doesn't own Lepin. Then LEGO could sue Lepin for blatantly ignoring LEGO's global copyrights and stuff. I'd love that.
  14. Uh-oh.....That would NOT be good for future credibility of "preview" images. Btw. how come people in Canada have cases of Series 19 already but poor me hasn't seen so much as a single one, anywhere? (I did a 30-mile sweep of the local LEGO-selling stores today. And....nada. Zilch. Nothing.) It seems unfair....I know that LEGO tends to release the cases a month early in New Zealand (don't ask me why, i don't know) but I thought they'd gotten over releasing them earlier in other countries. Sooooo unfair...I am sitting here practically drooling for them. Robert8, the top one looks custom printed or made. Maybe it's the image quality, but it really doesn't look real to me. I can't even see the little LEGO part numbering on the side of the pistol facing the camera, and I believe that piece has numbers on both sides. (I make brickfilms, so I monitor what shows up on camera.) Just a thought.
  15. I'm sorry you feel that way....Are either of you going to get any? It is. I do it all the time if I got a set or CMF for the torso but the hands are the wrong color. Use it in Brickfilms, too. Also, you can pop the arms out of the sockets (if you're careful) and use short-sleeved arms on long-sleeved minifigs, etc. Really great to use if you just can't quite get that look you're aiming for...I use the Series 17 Yuppie's arms a lot, and have 4 of him just for the arms. True. But I have no idea where most of those "odd" minifigs would fit in. However, we DO have 6 minifigures that definitely wouldn't have looked out-of-place in a set: Dog Walker (could see that in a City People Pack or the City Corner Garage) Shower Guy (though WHAT he'd be in I have no clue...Maybe LEGO will come out with a Modular House in the Modular Buildings theme. Or a good house that's not in the Creator theme) Programmer (she might be OK in another People Pack, though IDK whether she'd fit in with the feel of any of our current ones) Biker Girl (we already have several bikers, though, so it could literally fit in anywhere) Retiree (which again might fit into a City People Pack, or possibly a house - like Shower Guy) Firefighter (which is the only one that really belongs in a set) That leaves us with 10 that wouldn't really fit into a City set (or really any current theme): Monkey King (Where would we fit this in, exactly?) Ghost Knight (Again, no current theme for this one) Biologist/Johnny Thunder clone (That theme has been dead for 15+ years) Fox Suit, Pizza Suit, Rainbow Panda Suit (Well, I really have no clue WHAT the LEGO Group would put these in.....) Rugby Guy (There's never been a rugby/American football theme yet, and it doesn't look likely - but fingers crossed ???) Video Game Guy (Again, no theme to fit in. Wouldn't go with Minecraft or Overwatch, and there's no where else that it could fit in. Definitely NOT a "City" minifigure) Intergalactic Bounty Hunter (Where would this fit in? It has Blacktron references, but again that's been dead 10+ years!) "I Want My Mummy" (True, it would have fit into Monster Fighters - or perhaps the 2012 wave of Adventureres - but again, those themes have been dead for almost a decade) So..."Across CITY Subthemes" isn't quite accurate. 6 of them, yes, but that's way less than the ratio in bad ol' Series 17: 10 "themables" to 6 "fan-tasy". (Series 17 wasn't that great, either - my favorite three were the Butterfly girl (cute!), the Yuppie Businessman (cool, bro) and the Baker (great printed pie and whisk accessories!).
  16. Hey guys! Long time no see! I noticed that the whole topic has spiraled out of control somewhat, so I'm back to bring it to what my original point was: What is YOUR favorite minifigure? Thanks for the defense - however, please don't let's argue here! Argue on Facebook or something. I respect that others have their own opinions and stuff, soo although I prefer the "normal" CMFs others can like all the "strange" ones that they want! That's OK with me! I wanna see a review of Pizza Suit Guy! How did you get all the photos? I saw a few high-res photos on eBay but none elsewhere! I wondered as well.... Maybe he has some sort of "inside scoop" and could get packets. There is a photo on the Web of someone with a bunch (like half a box) of sealed Series 19 packets. Already. So it's not too surprising. I'm going to post the "Totals So Far" in a bit, but first I have to tally up the vots! (But it looks like one of the Suit people will be in the Top 3!)
  17. Wow! Amazing! I have to say, "Great job!" with all my heart. Is that "Automaton" referencing a movie from the 80's or 90's? I remember seeing a photo of something extremely similar in an old magazine....but I can't remember the name! It's cool...would it be in chrome silver (think Mr. Gold) or would it just be silvery, like a silver bar or 1x1 stud? The Monster Hunter is cool! I think he'd go really well with the Mummy (Series 3), "I Want My Mummy" (Series 19) and the Vampire (Series 2). Or any ol' monster type minifig! Totally love the Butch Cavendish hair for him, and that masked face is awesome! The biker is OK, but like people are saying with Series 19, it could just be in a set. Also, in my humble opinion, the helmet is too tall compared to the guy's head. But that's just my thoughts. LEGO really ought to make the Candy Cane Suit Guy in an upcoming series! It's awesome! That "Matching Costume Dad" minifigure is pretty sweet! I like the baby in the King Kong costume! One question, though: Why another "building suit" person? You already had Clock Tower Guy, who was OK but not superb. (No offense meant, bro.) I'm working on some minifig bios for these guys! I'll post when they're done!
  18. Wow! That's sooo well done! I want to borrow your techniques for the bike path!
  19. But wasn't Vaderfan2187 banned? And there have been new releases since his banishment! I know I'd vote for the Ski Speeder.
  20. Maybe you should do a Castle or Star Wars one (excluding UCS Star Wars, of course...)
  21. @Itaria No Shintaku, I agree that they couldn't go any lower than Simpsons 2. But personally, I found Series 14 and Series 18 to be - well, repetitive. I mean, I like variety. Some of the 'figs in almost every series are ones that I like - while there are others that I just can't like. And while LEGO hasn't done any Castle recently, I don't blame them - the market has shifted more towards modern stuff and sci-fi. But if you were able to propose collectible minifigure themes on LEGO IDEAS, then I would vote for your idea! Also, when is the next "greatest minifig"contest? I wanna join! Maybe LEGO should hire Robert8 for ideas - that way, we'd have a great variety - like in Series 10 and 11! Way to go, man! P.S. When's Series p coming out? Can I make some suggestions to you?
  22. So several people are saying that it's a bit dull... Well, I respect that. (Maybe I'm too hyped up about it!) Also, I had forgotten about that set! But it was too expensive for me, and the build was boring...
  23. How come ono one's mentioned Alexander Studios? If you're going for humor, they've got it! The animation is soemtimes bviously superimposed on top of something, but overall well done. Check out his "LEGO Bowling" vid on YouTube! It's hilarious!
  24. Thanks for the comments, guys! I agree about shower guy's pieces already being available, but what set exactly would they put him in? I mean, it's not like they're going to just make a City house set and have a guy bathing in it anytime soon...which is sad. And like I stated, I couldn't figure out why biker girl was in the series either. But LEGO does what they want, I guess. Also, as a brickfilmer who prefers things that stick closer to real life, I like minifigures that I can just get one or two of for the scene I need. That way, I can spend $8 and not $40... So that's why my personal faves are the ones that are closest to real life. (But I slept on a final decision about that Ghost Knight and he is pretty dang cool.) You never did tell me what your favorite minifigs were either, lol. ;)
