Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Thanks for posting the photos. I agree w/ other people's comments, that for a set that fits their $40 range, it works well. Just a shame it wasn't in their higher priced set range. -

Too bad the pictures got removed. Did anyone save them first by any chance? Anyhoo, the tumbler and bat aren't that great. They're probably really great or kids, but for AFOL, not even close. I wonder if they shrunk the tumbler b/c the #1 complaint from the first tumbler was that it was too big. -
Yes, that eBay seller is taking a lot of risk and he's eating it on fees and the sorts. Take a look at his latest auctions: http://www.ebay.com/sch/iknightu/m.html?item=110958471104&pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item19d5a3e7c0&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 You can tell by the bids, that his bidding is getting shilled really really drastically. I suggest people report the shilling on ebay since it's so blatant. I've done so already. :)

Don't worry, the VIP event was pretty horrendous. It was worse than the Black Friday event as those sets that get discounted for Black Friday were not discounted for the VIP event. It was just the regularly priced store items and a scratchcard that could be 10-50% off. No one at my store got the 50%, one person got a 20%. Oh yes, the one plus though, a free PAB. :) It was okay, you didn't feel that special.

Yea, it caught me off guard when one guy was selling 5 or 6 sets on ebay. That's just insane, then I saw his feedback and looked it up and noticed he had been buying them all along. I've been tracking it off and on, and he's been doing this from end of SDCC. So he's definitely paid more than what they're going for now. I'm wondering if he's made any money on this plan of his at all. It's tough to say b/c his sold auctions are so shilled, you can't tell which one has a legitimate buyer.

I've been trying to pay attention to these figures on eBay, and you might see the same seller over and over again. Here's what I've found out. Some people got really lucky and found the people handing out the DC cards for the figures and there would be a family and a bunch of friends...that can be like 5-10 for one person right there if that person takes them and resells them. Others would sit there and buy from people who won them via Lego's raffle at $20-50 a piece and just resell that on eBay. The most interesting thing I've found is that one seller has been buying at least 50 so far on eBay and reselling them in lots. You can't tell winning bidders on eBay b/c all but two characters are blacked out. But, I decided to check their feedback, and their feedback as a buyer showed them buying a bunch of exclusives from random sellers. He's stockpiling and relisting them as sets. Here's his feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=iknightu&ftab=FeedbackAsBuyer You can see what he's listed and what he's bought. I'd be careful buying from him though, as it's pretty clear his auctions are shilled really bad. He is buying from legitimate sellers b/c I've bid against him on some items from people across the country. He's just stockpiling.

That's comedy...I can already hear the rimshot being played after Alfred says "Endor"

It would only make sense that this was a sparse book to begin with as the line has only been around for 3-4 waves of sets. I was all about this book for the minifig. The content was a bonus to me, and I find it a good bonus. I suggest buying this on the cheap if you wanted the book outside of the minifig. Amazon is $13.50 right now. That's where I got mine and I'm happy w/ my purchase.

It definitely looks like the Dark Knight Cowl. I should get the book tomorrow, so I'm excited to see it! -

Is that b/c it's the Dark Knight helmet and not the original one? -

Is it me or is that Voldemort's head in the Mr. Freeze prototype vehicle? I actually enjoy the vehicle quite a bit, too bad it probably won't be in the set. :( -
I think it's a really cool memento and a gret companion piece to the Darth Maul
-
I never picked up the first one, so it's great to see the photos. I had no idea about the printed head on the windshield of the first one. that's a great little piece! Thanks again!!

Terrific pics! The comparisons to the real thing were really fun!

Was the scale of the original Lego Tumbler that much of a problem? I actually liked the oversized look of it, and I'm hoping the Camo Tumbler is the same size. Am I in a small minority on that? -
Any of you boardies heading to Celebration VI? I have the SDCC Star Wars Darth Maul tin and it is unopened that I'm willint to do a straight trade with the Celebration VI Lego exclusive. If Lego keeps to the same exclusive process, it should be a $40 piece with a limit of two per day til they run out each day. Please PM me if interested!!!

Thanks for posting all the info Hulk Smash! Definitely much appreciated! Sounds like the Batman based sets were pretty spot on to most people's guesses. The Spiderman stuff sounds cool, but I wanted a bit more variety. But that will have to wait for the next waves. Next up photos!! -
Big fan of the multiple levels and how bright it is. It's a nice contrast from the darker look from other MOCs

Looks like I'll be adding to my minifigure collection. I like the rockband minifigs. Seeing all the different colors in both sets is really sweet. Can't wait to pick 'em up!!

I thought this was a really great review!! Nicely done with all the pictures and the details. I must say, the sticker placement was done really well too. I can't do it that well. haha I hope you're able to do the rest of the line on this! I wonder if this will ever make it to the states. It should be interesting on how it works here.

I know they'll add some play features like flick-fire missiles. I just hope it doesn't ruin the aesthetic of the Bat. I guess that's where it's tough as adults, b/c we like them to look closer to the original. As I kid, I probably couldn't care less. :)
