The best way to to deal with these people is to properly report them and just get back to the discussion. For instance, when do we think we’ll get official images of the CMF?

I can’t believe I forgot Fang! Yes, definitely. Come on Lego, he wouldn’t even be a licensed part, you could totally use a lovable mastiff type dog in other themes. And I agree that it’s past time we got a proper Crookshanks too. The series 1 CMF used the standard cat mold but I think a different breed of cat is long overdue considering how many dogs we have now. A proper long haired Crookshanks would look stunning. I can’t believe Lego has never done a unicorn before. Well, Harry Potter is already responsible for the long awaited centaur legs so why not be the imputes behind another classic mythical creature finally attaining Lego form. (Really, Lego should be reviving the unlicensed castle theme so they can take proper advantage of all these awesome new molds the Harry Potter designers are making ).

Ollivander’s did get made back in the 2011 Diagon Alley. What hasn’t been made in minifigure scale yet is Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes, it’s only ever appeared in the 2018 gwp. Honestly as long as we get that shop and the twins I won’t really care what else is in the D2C (although the bibliophile in me would love Flourish and Blotts as well). Well we already know we’re getting a new Fawkes, which was 100% needed, so that’s great. As for the future I agree with you on the Pygmy Puffs. As far as other animals go I’d also love to see new versions of Fluffy and the basilisk, with at least new molds for their heads even if the bodies are brick built. And I don’t think I’ve hidden the fact that I really want new updated versions of Lupin’s werewolf form and Padfoot (they’re on an ever shortening list of things from the first run of the theme that are desperately in need of an update). It would also be cool if we got Hermione’s beaded bag in the Deathly Hallows sets next year.

The CMF seems to be on track to release September 1st in Lego stores and on S@H, with secondary retailers releasing it slightly sooner as usual for the fall CMF release. As for leaks, we haven’t had a repeat of January’s DC series, which slowly leaked in its entirety last October, but an image of the front of the package leaked with 9 of the 16 characters on it back in March, but other than that no physical leaks. If you’re interested in which characters got leaked they were: - Professor Sprout w/ mandrake (different printing than the ones in the AT) - Luna Lovegood in her quidditch fan outfit w/ lion headdress - Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris version) w/ Fawkes - Kingsley Shacklebolt w/ broom - Neville Longbottom w/ monster book of monsters - Bellatrix Lestrange in prison robes - Harry Potter w/ Advanced Potions book - Moaning Myrtle - Griphook w/ key

I’m pretty sure a $400 brick built Dobby would probably be approaching life sized. That could be pretty cool actually, but I would imagine that Lego would want to see how the build able Hedwig does before they try anymore large scale brick built characters.
-
I think the only argument against Diagon Alley at this point is that, while we know there’s a D2C and we know it’s $400, none of the leak sources have outright stated it’s DA, it’s really just our best guess at the moment. That’s not to say it isn’t a very educated guess, since there’s not much else that could be that large a scale and the micro GWP -> full sized D2C a couple years later pattern is pretty well established with creator expert sets. On a different note, someone mentioned Werewolf Lupin and reminded me that now that kingnoknow’s hints are thrown out the window there still a chance he’ll show up in the CMF.

Makes sense, the designers of series 1 clearly went in knowing what the 2018 sets would be and at least having a shortlist of the 2019 sets, and set out to fill in the holes/work around what would be appearing in them. For instance: - the trio and Dean in Gryffindor robes - the first time we got uniforms with robes instead of just sweaters, since they all featured custom leg prints on the new medium legs it was unlikely we’d ever have to worry about overlap with sets (we still have never gotten robes with medium legs in a set, the only school robes we’ve gotten in a set a Draco’s in the AT and he reuses a common set of regular legs) - pajamas Harry - clearly meant to compliment the Mirror of Erised in the Great Hall set - Neville - from a CoS herbology class scene that the designers would have known wasn’t being made into a set (I imagine the designers had no reason to believe at the time that there’d be backtracking to CoS so soon which leads to...) - Dobby - had only ever appeared in specific ‘Dobby’s Release’ sets before. Since the designers at the time knew they weren’t doing one of those and had no way of knowing there’d be a Privet Drive set based on CoS in two years they had every reason to believe at the time he was also safe from appearing in a set anytime in the near future. - Draco - the designers knew that the Quidditch set was based off year one, so gave us Draco in his gear from year two - Trelawney - one of the proofs that the designers must have had an idea of what was coming in 2019, since they clearly knew Trelawney wouldn’t be appearing in a set - Moody - same as Trelawney - Cedric - same as Trelawney and Moody, with the added bonus of getting out of putting him in a set that would represent his death scene - Luna - based off her appearance on the train in HBP. Since there was a PoA based Hogwarts Express released the same year the designers could be pretty certain they wouldn’t need this version of Luna anytime soon. - Cho - she appears in her uniform in GoF of course, but most people attribute this fig to OotP because the owl comes from a promotional shot for that movie. Either way this was just a way to give us the Ravenclaw uniform the designers knew they wouldn’t be able to squeeze into a set for at least two years. - Dumbledore and Voldemort - lumped together because it’s kind of ambiguous which movies the come from and I think it ultimately doesn’t matter, since they’re ultimately here because 1) they’re both extremely prominent characters and 2) Lego really needed the new molds they used for future sets (Dumbledore’s hair and beard and the Nagini that came with Voldemort). So it all tracks with the CMF designers having a good handle on what was happening with the 2018-2019 sets and working around that. On the other hand, when designing series 2 they don’t just know what’s happening this year (Bellatrix, Kingsley, Luna, Harry) and probably a general idea of next year (Griphook). They also know what was skimmed over for the last two years (Sprout, Myrtle, the monster book, Fawkes), which will definitely change the composition of the lineup when it comes to which movies things are based off.
-
Yeah, I’d noticed that as well. Which will probably disappoint some people because he only tried to discredit the scaled up gwp theory to claim that we’d be getting Borgin and Burke’s, but I personally think that if any shop gets a separate set outside of Diagon Alley it should be the one that’s actually in Knockaturn Alley.
-
Yeah, that was weird as hell. Luckily, when it did come out it was the month the Hogwarts D2C was double VIP points so waiting to get it until the GWP dropped meant I was able to get the 2019 August wave with nothing but VIP credits.

The set number in question 75978, was reported my many leakers to be the number for the D2C. Kingnono then said that it was in fact a regular set and the D2C has a different set number entirely. I’m pretty sure he was the first and only one really saying that, so now that he’s discredited there’s a distinct possibility that we’ll only be getting the six sets we already know about (plus the D2C, CMF, and AC).
-
Has anyone besides kingnono said that? There were 7 in last year’s after all. Pre advent calendar reveal definitely. I was looking about a week ago to check and see if he’d used quotation marks for all the quotes and noticed them gone then. Not sure exactly how long they’ve been gone though. Yeah, no, plenty of us have been skeptical from the beginning, and I suspect we wouldn’t have spent nearly as much time talking about him if it weren’t for, you know, quarantine. And his statement about the advent calendar is isn't ‘sorta wrong’, it’s completely wrong. He definitively stated that the AC would be OotP based and absolutely everything on the box art is from the Yule Ball in GoF (you can argue till the cows come home about how there might be an OotP element for one of the days, but that wouldn’t change the fact that the AC as a whole is clearly being marketed on the Yule Ball). I’m not even sure what you’re trying to get at with the last point. If you’re referring to how some people talked about Fred and George being in Privet Drive, then yes, it came up, but the vast majority of people reporting from toy fair gave the correct minifigure lineup with Ron and Dobby - there was no ‘earlier interpretation’, just people spreading misinformation. As for why the minifigures in the Burrow would be pretty easy to guess, I think that’s already been covered enough times in this thread.
-
I mean, the only thing I can see rescuing his reputation at this point is if the Hogsmeade GWP he talked about turned out to be real. Everything else is either so vague it could be interpreted multiple ways, fairly obvious, or thing people here had already speculated about. Kingnono specialized in vagaries and things we wanted to hear. He said very few specific things that hadn’t already been talked about on this forum (all his hints for the CMF, for example, had already been talked about as possibilities long beforehand), which is why I had a feeling that my ability to fully trust him would hinge on whether he was right about the theme of the advent calendar :/ I think we still have a decent chance of getting the CoS polyjuiced forms as a matching trio for the CMF, but that could be because I was one of the first to bring it up back before series 2 was even confirmed. I also suspect kingnono was right about there being at least two characters from each house, of only because it would follow the pattern of series 1 (which had 7 Gryffindors, 4 Ravenclaws, 2 Slytherins, 2 Hufflepuffs, 1 unknown, and 6 characters who wouldn’t have been sorted).
-
Or he got so confused on whether he should be bringing her to the Gryffindor or Ravenclaw Tower that he just gave up a ran off into the night
-
You can also see in the higher quality pictures that Hermione’s shown in the panel on the top of the box (with Harry and Ron plus a tree and some presents) so we know for certain 4 of the minifigures in the AC, and we can guess the 5th will be the other twin (Parvati since I’m getting more and more sure it’s Padma on the box).
-
Don’t forget the statue had a recolored beard. I remember reading once that part recolors cost about the same as new prints. As for what we might get other than the trio and the Patil twins, pretty much any male Hogwarts student would use the same torso as Harry or Cedric. If you choose a student who’s already a minifigure (Neville, Draco) or one who’s got a face that could use a preexisting head (Roger Davies) then you could easily whip up an ‘exclusive’ character that doesn’t use any new prints.
-
So now that we can clearly see the Patil twin on the box you can tell that Lego decided to tone down the oranges in their outfits - looks like they’re going for the pinker end of the salmon spectrum instead of the orange. Since the movies just color swapped the twins dress robes (sadly, Padma’s turquoise robes are lost with Hermione’s periwinkle ones) it’s a little hard to tell which one is next to Ron, but... the pink on her torso seems more intense then her skirt so I think she might actually be Padma.
-
No it’s definitely not but the Clocktower set seems to be based off the formal dance before the Weird Sisters appear as well, and the gramophone also visible on the box seems to be from the dance lesson scene that presumably takes place weeks before the ball itself. The microphone you can see just above the piano does seem to come from the Weird Sisters scene though, so who knows, maybe one of our exclusive minifigures will be Myron Wagtail.
-
Nice catch there. It’s definitely not seen on screen much because we don’t get as many shots of the small orchestra that plays the music during the formal dance scenes (before the Weird Sisters take over) and the ones we do get feature Flitwick conducting and the string players directly in front of him. But that’s definitely a silver piano at the Yule Ball.
-
So the piano definitely has visible keys, and since advent calendars don’t seem to do stickers I’m presuming it’s a printed piece. How long has that been around? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a piano keys tile before?
-
So the builds that can be identified from the box image look like a piano, a microphone, a wrapped present (Hufflepuff colors), and the massive magical gramophone from the dance lesson scene.
-
So, I wake up to several new pages in this thread and for the first time in a while they’re based off an actual leak. Cool As for the leak itself - I’m actually really not surprised. Before the kingnono hint I fully expected this year’s advent calendar to be Yule Ball themed with repeats of the trio and 3-4 new exclusive figures (including the Patil twins). And speaking of kingnono... I’ve been skeptical of the guy since the beginning. He was not the one the one to drop the information about the Burrow set or it’s price point. His first several hints were merely quotes that he said could reference a person or location, most of which pointed towards the Burrow or Diagon Alley, both of which were already known or suspected by the time he started dropping hints. I was a little surprised when he stated being more specific about things because I strongly suspected from the start that he was just stringing us along with vague, educated guesses that were almost guaranteed to come true in some way or another. Even his line up for the CMF consisted entirely of characters id had on my predictions list since long before we even knew we’d get a series 2. I was saying less than a week ago that I would never completely be able to believe he was legit unless he turned out to be right about the advent calendar’s theme and/or 75978 being a different set than the D2C, and, well...
-
I would say the theme’s previous iteration does deserve to be considered when talking about what we’re getting now - not for a one to one comparison but because Lego is clearly considering what we got and what we didn’t when creating this theme reboot, and that’s been clear since Susan Bones (and more importantly her Hufflepuff uniform) showed up in the first set revealed. As someone who collected the theme from the very beginning, the effort Lego is putting into giving us things that were always missing the first time around is amazing. And I’ll leave this post at that, because I’m sure I could write a massive wall of text on the subject and what it means for what we could get in the future.
-
Except that historically the four champions weren’t exceptions - that’s why 2018 and 2019 were the first times we got Cedric and Fleur, despite Cedric’s death being an extremely pivotal plot point, the 2005 sets never included either of them. Tonks and Kingsley are pretty much right up there with Fleur and Cedric on the list of characters that were passed over in the theme’s first run that everyone really wanted. They’re all fan favorites that we’ve been waiting a long time to finally get, so after Lego took the opportunity to give us as many Fleur and Cedric variants as possible I can definitely see Lego giving us two Tonks variants in one wave, especially considering that the more subdued appearance from the Burrow isn’t her most popular appearance, and the CMF budget would allow them to pull out all the bells and whistles for a version based on her appearance at Grimmauld Place or the Ministry Battle. I think you’re also forgetting that each CMF character has to be fun and appealing in their own right, and OotP Tonks definitely fits the bill.
-
All of kingnono’s hints are rumors until confirmed by Lego. And his ‘two per house’ hint leaves very few options aside from Tonks to fit with that rumor.
-
If we’re going by kingnono’s hints then the odds of another non witch or wizard character in the cmf is unlikely. It also bears remembering that most people aren’t going to want to pick up a Harry Potter CMF bag and get a non magical character - the only Muggle in series 1 was Jacob and he’s got the advantage of being a main character. Marge doesn’t even need a new mold if you have Ripper as her accessory, since a new bulldog turned up in City sets recently. Given that, I think we’re more likely to see Marge in a polybag or some sort of bricktober pack like thing if Lego ever decides to revive the concept. As for your point about Lego putting characters who could fill ‘holes’ in the sets into the CMF: we already know we’re getting Professor Sprout to populate the Astronomy Tower greenhouse, lion headdress Luna Lovegood for our quidditch stands, a different version of Albus Dumbledore for his office in the Clocktower, Kingsley Shacklebolt holding a broom that suggests he belongs outside Privet Drive in OotP, and Moaning Myrtle who can hang out in the prefects’ bathroom in the Clocktower. Rumored characters also include Madame Pomfrey for the Clocktower’s hospital wing and OotP Tonks to go with Kingsley. Putting any more characters in that are specifically designed to go with sets might seem excessive under the circumstances.
