  1. I totally called the Bionicle fig being a costumed fan a month ago. Still, I expect he’ll still be very popular (and I’m fully expecting to see mods with the head replaced just like all the ones for series 28 currently circulating). I’m cackling at this – I’d actually be cool having the viral ‘Chocolate Guy’ as a Minifigure. However, the leaks specifically cite ‘Willy wonker’ (sic), so we should expect something a little more Victorian as far as clothing goes. I’m definitely looking forward to the Unicorn elf, especially since the leaked fig not having a horn confirms she comes with an actual unicorn. (Presumably the same mold introduced last year. Fingers crossed for a mane color a little more ‘natural’ than purple.) Also eager to see the cute witch. Right now I’m imagining a kid/teenage witch with a little black kitten familiar – how cute would that be? The marine biologist sounds fun too – I missed the last one because of the whole *early 2020* release and my local stores just not stocking blind bags for months, so I definitely want to snag this one. Soccer player sounds painfully basic, but I guess Lego needed to leverage the CMF budget for the new ball. Curious to see what the slime monster and monster hunter will have as accessories. Genuinely surprised there’s not more chatter about the Robot T-Rex – it’s the only real sci-fi character this series but sounds rather fun.
  2. That garbage monster is… something… I mean, it’s not something I’ll be searching for for myself, but I can see little kids loving it, and the quality is top notch, plus I can’t say I’m not interested to see if other fun Vidiyo molds get brought back from the dead. Fingers crossed this means we’ll see the checklist soon.
  3. Personally very annoyed that they’ve done two different versions of Crookshanks but neither of them were particularly good. There are roosted and flying versions of Hedwig (both very accurate), a Pigwidgeon made just for the Owlery (he doesn’t even appear in the movies!), and while Scabbers is usually just the standard rat, the series 1 CMF included a unique version with a bald spot on the head. Crookshanks deserves an accurate version as well, but unless 76477 somehow includes him we’re out of luck for this year. That said, we do have decent odds of getting a new fluffy Mrs. Norris in the East Wing.
  4. I think there’s a non-zero possibility some of them are going to be sold on their own without the books actually. Most of the leaked images clearly show packaging with set numbers and a hole for hanging them like the normal polybags have. That would be odd for something that’s only going to be included in a book.
  5. Pics of a line of ‘World Builder’ polybags have leaked. Two different firefighter themed ones feature a kitten and pigeon respectively, and there are some other City ones featuring frogs and spiders. There’s also a Minecraft one with a fish. Nothing new, obviously, but depending on prices that one with the pigeon could prove very popular.
  6. That’s probably meant to be a Venomous Tentacula, notable in that Slughorn was seen stealing seeds during Harry’s Felix Felicis foray in the HBP movie (plus getting multiple mentions in the book iirc). Also worth mentioning is Gillyweed, since it’s a rather plot critical plant in GoF and would provide a more interesting build than just the standard terracotta pots. There are plenty of other magical plants in the books, of course, but thanks to the movies cutting lesson scenes for time, those (plus the already mentioned devil’s snare and mandrake) are the ones that would be familiar to movie fans. I suppose they could throw dirigible plums in there, even though those appear outside the Lovegood house instead of in Herbology.
  7. Devil’s Snare planted in a pot was actually used as a murder weapon in the Order of the Phoenix book, so they can be cultivated that way.
  8. The City Beachside Tram could have some fun animals since it definitely includes a beach build. Probably nothing new but there are enough beach critters already produced that we could get something other than the longstanding fish and crabs. As for Harry Potter – even ignoring the trans satin blue patronuses – the big summer flagship set is confirmed to include the Chamber of Secrets and related scenes, so there’s a decent chance of getting Mrs. Norris – possibly even a new version using the longhaired cat mold.
  9. It’s not Christmas in the Great Hall, that was an incorrect assumption some of us made initially upon seeing all the green leaf+red round tile stacks on the tables, since those are commonly used as ‘Holly’ in advent calendars and such. But the Great Hall actually is undecorated, the students just have an uncharacteristically healthy dinner of tomato and lettuce salads.
  10. I think it has a decent chance of showing up sometime since it appeared with the D2C Gringott’s but has yet to appear in the current iteration of Diagon Alley playsets. A Flourish & Blott’s + Magical Menagerie set with Hermione as one of the characters would be an excellent addition, and harkens back to the very first Diagon Alley Shops set released nearly 25 years ago (perfect for an anniversary celebration). The budget for animals is the iffy part of course – but the Diagon Alley mini subtheme has been getting some love from the designers on that front. WWW introduced new prints for the pygmy puff and fanged frisbee and included a barn owl in the tiny owl post side build. Ollivander’s introduced a wand multipack in two colors even with Madam Malkin’s (and it’s extra torsos) taking up the other half of the set. Add in that canonically toads are one of the three main pets allowed at Hogwarts, which translates to unprinted frogs in Lego, so there’s some decent wiggle room for the designers. Start with a few basic unprinted animals like frogs and bats, throw in a preexisting kitten and mini owl, have the only new animal be Crookshanks using the new longhaired cat mold, and you’ve got a solid looking magic pet store. They could even play with the new snail part to make Streelers (present in the book description and Orlando location) without straining the budget too much. That’s one of the reasons it makes the most sense to pair it with Flourish and Blott’s – historically, official Lego bookstore and library sets have only included one book assemblage with a bunch of brick built stacks and shelves that are fairly economical.
  11. You’re right, I must have misremembered the years. Or maybe I was thinking of the Marvel series (2021 and 2023). The fact remains, 2 years appears to be the minimum time between the first and second series of extremely popular licensed series. It’s hard to say if that timeframe is Lego reacting to good sales or if they know when certain licenses will be popular and schedule series 2 ahead of release – either way, it’s not hard to imagine such a thing happening for D&D, so this rumor could possibly be an educated guess.
  12. Got some Harry Potter Lego for Christmas, including this year’s Diagon Alley shops. Like both previous sets in the same series, there’s a sign advertising various other ‘nearby’ shops. Interestingly enough, the Weasley’s joke shop featured a sign that mentioned Madam Malkin’s, and then last year’s set with Madam Malkin’s included a sign for Quality Quidditch Supplies. That suggests there’s a high chance of one of the three shops mentioned in this year’s set – Flourish and Blott’s, Scribbulus, or Marcus Scarr’s – appearing in the 2026 summer wave. Flourish and Blott’s is the most obvious choice (and appeared on the Ollivander/Malkin sign too), especially if we’re expecting the big Hogwarts expansion to be the Chamber of Secrets, and I’m definitely in favor of that since it gives lego a chance to include Hermione on her own after Harry’s done so once and Ron twice in the Diagon sets. That said, while Marcus Scarr’s is probably a throwaway reference like Sugarplums on the WWW set, it is notable that said tattoo parlor’s one and only appearance is as an interactive facade in Universal Orlando’s Knockturn Alley area – which would theoretically make it a decent companion for Borgin and Burke’s if Lego ever does it in the same style as the Diagon series.
  13. Yeah, this guy could easily just be hedging his bets. Disney and Harry Potter both had 2 years between their series, so it wouldn’t be unprecedented for a similarly popular license to get a second series after that period too. Now, whether it’s as safe a bet now that Lego’s doing random stuff like the F-1 series is another thing.
  14. Plus raccoon and hamster if we’re talking exclusively about minifigure style instead of Friends. We’re also still waiting for the Fox in red. Then there’s turkey, peacock, and panda too.
  15. I appreciate your skepticism, but it’s worth remembering that in addition to patronuses being cheaper, the 20th anniversary sets also included 9 golden minifigures. Yes, some of them were in the D2C, but given that they were much pricier to produce and it was before Harry Potter was getting two full waves a year, I don’t think expecting the bigger and more hyped summer wave to have at least as many patronuses as the January one is an unrealistic expectation. Also, the idea that Lego would only use existing molds and completely skip the infamous Doe patronus is kinda laughable. I won’t rule out that it might be the only new animal they produce for this, but they’d be foolish to not include it.
  16. I think the Escape from Privet Drive set didn’t have a patronus simply because it wasn’t cost effective price wise and there was only one character in the set who can cast a patronus and they want to save it for the summer wave. With that said, since the summer wave is where they do their big flagship stuff, there’s no way the summer wave will have fewer patronuses than the January wave, so I still think 5 is the right estimate.
  17. The piece counts combined with the previously leaked age recommendations come out to: 76462: 14+ (545 pcs.) 76469: 8+ (379 pcs.) 76471: 8+ (788 pcs.) 76473: 10+ (2164 pcs.) 76474: 14+ (817 pcs.) 76475: (244 pcs.) 76477: (480 pcs.) The 14+ sets are more likely to be buildable creatures/objects (although we’ll be able to guess more reliably when the prices leak), but that still leaves 5 sets featuring minifigures/anniversary patronuses. 3 are pretty much guaranteed to be the Stag, Dog, and Doe (my money’s on 76475 being the Stag), but that still leaves 2 unknowns. And who can say if next year’s D2C will include some or not.
  18. We’ve had several in that vein, which is sort of the problem. We’ve had a car, boat, train, plane, and even a horse in costume style. Theoretically the flying saucer from the Space series could count too. At this point there’s only so many modes of transportation left. I guess they could do a submarine, bus, horse drawn carriage, or fire truck?
  19. Maybe two instead of three, but yes. Given that series 27 still filled the Sci-Fi niche with the jetpack racer and steampunk inventor, I think it’s fair to say that all costumes other than modern day animals are still on the table. Who knows, maybe the Bionicle fig is actually a costumed fan…
  20. Keep in mind – Series 26 (Space) came out directly after series 25 and only one licensed series (D&D) came out between it and 27. However, after 27 there were two licensed series, meaning there’s a full year gap between it and 28 (animal costumes). But with series 29 coming directly after 28, Lego is a lot more likely to follow the same pattern as the Space series and not include regular animal costumes (extinct and fantasy animals might be an exception though, having been inexplicably excluded from series 28).
  21. The falcon was already introduced in a previous CMF though? I don’t think they’ve ‘double dipped’ with new animals since their chimpanzee back when the series were still in the single digits, so I’m not sure they’d do it again. Especially when there are so many new animals that people want.
  22. Yep! Bricktap has made a post on the legoleaks Reddit that confirms the only two ‘legacy’ figs are the ones we already know about, and the rest of series 29 will be a normal CMF.
  23. Because whenever there’s the slightest whiff of an older theme getting referenced in a CMF fans of said theme get a little rabid. I’m sure if someone had leaked rumors of the Johnny Thunder and Basil the Bat Lord figs before any of the other characters in their respective series there would have been loads of people on here losing their minds over imagined Adventure and Monster themed series.
  24. I’ve never done this before, but I’ve had so many ideas over the years that I thought I’d finally try this. Valkyrie and Raven Curling athlete (w/ stone and broom) Marching band drummer (this has been on my list for awhile, and I’m feeling lucky after the upcoming modular introduced a new shako hat but stuck entirely to the brass section for included instruments) Brachiosaurus costume fan (series 28 pointedly doesn’t include any extinct animals, so I’m guessing continuing the dinosaur costumes is still on the table. And since all three from the old Ideas set have been done I’m putting my money on the Brachiosaurus from the Natural History Museum modular) Alien Space Pirate Terracotta Warrior Park Ranger and Raccoon Rock Hound teen (we got an Astronomy loving teen in the last series, so a geology fan would make sense, especially after the recent release of the Ideas Mineral Collection) Pickle costume fan Glassblower Kid with toy and dog (this is mostly a selfish wish – I want them to put out a dog mold that fits Ron Weasley’s patronus so we’re less likely to be stuck with the shepherd puppy for that) Genetic Scientist and sabertooth tiger cub
  25. What are you talking about? There are a few species of black frogs out there. The most popular would probably be the Black Rain Frog, simply because Rain Frogs do the round on the internet now and then because of their silly little faces. And if you add toads into the mix (and thanks to the Harry Potter theme we know Lego does) then you’ve got even more options like the Pebble Toad, which featured on an episode of BBC’s Life series years ago.
