DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree with that first part (and who doesn't) but the best theme for location builds? Really? Star Wars, indiana Jones, Harry Potter, I mean even marvel feels like it has more iconic locations than DC. There's a lot of potential for the theme, but location builds ain't it chief. Technic Batcycle is a Technic Batcycle. Not much else to say. -

Same thing here. The second they became available (or rather, the second I got through the queue), I ordered my 2. Still available now, we'll see if it stays that way much longer. -

We live in a society where DC gets one system set a year. I think it'd be more likely to be both flashes and Birdman. -

I'm gonna be real with you chief I completely forgot these existed. Jokes aside, I maintain that the only reason he wasn't in the Holiday Special calendar is because they couldn't get the likeness rights. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Unfortunately no, definately not. Lego's been working on changing the figs to boxes for years to be "environmentally friendly". This means that, like that mario collectible series, they'll be in unfeelable boxes leading to massive amounts of people simply breaking open the boxes and stealing the fig inside. And the rest of us just have to wait for bricklink (assumably at higher prices) or gamble that we're getting Daredevil in the box instead of She-hulk. Hello from the future, in my time zone I've still got two days left for another...half hour. As much as I want him, I doubt we'll get him in the CMF. He'll hopefully be in a Thunderbolts set, and I assume that given the amount of shows they have to cover we won't be going back to the ones covered in the first series. -

as much as I'd love more daredevil figs, even if they do anything for the show (which we don't know for sure), it'd be half a year away AT LEAST by the time the CMF comes out. I highly doubt we'd get figs for Born Again in the CMF. Unless you meant the she-hulk daredevil in which case yeah there's a not insignificant chance we'll get him. Because last CMF had all the slots based on shows that were either currently airing or had already aired. (They didn't even include Hawkeye despite it being just a few months away and the CMF releasing the same day as lego typically releases Advent Calendars) I think currently as far as we know the only shows coming out before the CMF are What if S2 and Secret Invasion (which I personally put in my CMF guesses). I guess Loki Season 2 as well, but that show's looking to have the same main cast (and in similar costumes). Also...no? By the time the CMF comes out only one of the shows people are guessing will be nearing 2 years old. It's not like we're saying Wandavision and TFATWS will have figs in the CMF. -

I'm happy we're getting another, but upset that we're moving them to boxes. I'll buy Moon Knight and DD off bricklink. -Again, that assumes we get those figs. Here's my guesses based off the original one only containing figs based off currently released/releasing shows, and a 12 fig count: VERY CONFIDENT: Hawkeye (Clint Barton) Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) Moon Knight Mr. Knight She Hulk Ms. Marvel Nick Fury 2x what if figures Options for remaining 3 figs: DD, Echo (Show was supposed to release before the release date of the CMF), Layla, Harrow, Talos, Werewolf, Elsa, another Ms Marvel fig, or more what if figs. -

How dare you accuse Morbius of being a villain. Also wait, it's been awhile, but now that I think about it didn't Milo kill those guys? That movie was like a fever dream. (And I have actually had a fever dream....do not recommend.) -

There's the iconic car from the post credits, which would clearly be the UCS set. Comes with new morbius and vulture figs, and a plaque that lists every stat about the car as "3 morbillion" There is a boat, though Morbius attacks the inhabitants of it so clearly it must be a villain boat. We really don't know, like you say. Though I would count against it being a modular. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion

Never been a huge Sonic fan, but the films are very enjoyable to me, at least compared to most video-game films. My only hope for the theme is Tails, though I feel like Shadow's a given due to the fact he doesn't require a new mold. I would say Knuckles will probably appear too, and likely Amy. -

There's a great Babylon Bee sketch about that. I think the DBG isn't that bad, but it's still not as accurate as it could be. If they're not gonna go all out and make it completely accurate (For instance, the cockpit still feels chunky to me), they should have done Sand Blue like @LegendaryArticuno suggested. YES! I would love this. An excellent way to juxtapose an absurd Kingpin, too, before DDBA (Hopefully) gets back to his standard intimidating, one-step-ahead presence. I can't see them doing avengers tower at 450 pcs less than the Bugle. I feel like they'd want to make it the biggest one. Oscorp would be nice but like you said, too soon, same with Baxter Building. I feel like it's even possible for DC to be an on the table just given the few options for a marvel one. That said, I suppose it doesn't have to be a building, right? Who's to say it's not a large Milano or brick-built Iron man statue or something? -

Luckily, this is unlikely. 2023 has officially confirmed sets for a $10 microfighter and brickheadz. -
40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Pohatu's always been my favorite, and IIRC Kopaka's the most popular according to polls on some bionicle communities. I totally think they should make a subtheme. I mean if they don't, recreations of these are on my MOC list. I did something similar awhile back, albiet on a smaller scale: -

Jeez. Those are some truly horrible PPP ratios. The $15 set's piece count of 139 would be pretty good if it was a battle pack, so given the trend of the other PPP ratios I feel like it's not a given that it'll even have 2 figs. I still can't get over $160 for 1067 pieces. The $140 AT-TE had a bit more than that, and even that one felt a little overpriced. For $20 more and FEWER parts, that better be a $160 battle pack or have multiple bigfigs/creatures. -

I mean the games turn a profit but no, Link's not even close to Mario, Sonic, or Pokemon. Link is fairly well-known but EVERYONE knows mario, sonic, and pikachu. -

Zelda hasn't been as popular as stuff like Mario, Sonic, etc, so lego might not think it could support a full theme. That said, Breath of the Wild was hugely popular, so maybe they're just waiting to see if Tears of the Kingdom has the same popularity before making sets. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Hmm. On the one hand I agree most of the MCU shows have been terrible (I'll defend Moon Knight, although the longer it's been since the series the more I'm able to look past "My guy Moon Knight is in a live action show" and see the flaws and the setting issues, it shouldn't have been an egypt based show with a CGI slugfest ending), but on the other hand I would kill a man and give up the LOTR revival for another Daredevil Minifig, even if it's the ugly yellow one. Geez. At that point I'd buy the set. My target still has them around $60 (But they haven't sold any, despite it being one of only 3 sets left with multiple copies in the store as of a few days ago, so we'll see if they keep lowering that price). The hulkbuster is one that I'd be more inclined to get (albiet still at a large discount), but if you think there's a snowball's chance in hell it would drop to 73% or even 64% off, you're dreaming. Once it hits 30/40 the value will kick in enough that I think it'll start selling well enough. I'm just happy Optimus Prime's 20% off. Doesn't bode super well for the continuation of the theme, but it does bode well for my wallet. -

I still don't understand how that got made. At least the others had giant IPs to piggyback off even if the sets themselves were lackluster. As for the Express, I get why it's selling well. The station being such a large part of the build is controversial, but not as universally unappealing as the hulkbuster's horrible proportions or the BP Bust's... existence? That feels mean but really it would have been better as a helmet set, the wakanda forever salute isn't worth the extra $280. If water did the trick (which it might have, might be like a lubricant) it might stay until it evaporates. If it was the temp, it'll change once the figure returns to storage temp. I would hypothetically suggest some sort of grease for a more permanent solution, but I also wouldn't recommend putting grease on your lego minifigures. -
40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I agree. While it deserved a full set like the Matoran Universe or something, this is a nice GWP that shows that they aren't only interested in the design, but the LORE of G1 bionicle, which is very important to me at least. I do think that if bionicle ever gets a continuation, it'll be brick-built figures with mixel joints (or larger ball joints for titans). -

Hmm. DO NOT TAKE MY ADVICE AS FACT, as I'm tired and not sure I'm remembering this right, but if the torso is a different color than the arms (or hips and legs), and therefore having a slightly different material composition, you might be able to undo the stiffness by heating/cooling them slightly. That said, you'd have to figure out which one has the higher coefficient of expansion, as heating when you should cool or cooling when you should heat would just have the opposite of the desired effect. You think that's bad, the Queer Eye set was the only sub-$199.99 set I could find multiple copies of at my local Target the other day. Though the performance of those two D2Cs are not remotely surprising. I do feel like the Hulkbuster and maybe even BP bust will eventually sell fairly well once they hit ~33% off, as at lower prices they'd be fairly desirable. At $350-ish I'd even consider that hulkbuster. -

Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel like the BP bust has to sell eventually, as it's in roughly the same vein as the helmets, and once the price lowers people might see it as worth it. As opposed to Queer eye, which even at 40% off still fills shelves wherever I go. I went to target a few days before Christmas for groceries, but I checked on the lego aisle and the only sets with more than 1 copy left were the landspeeder and question mark block (probably due to the prices, most people aren't getting $200 Christmas gifts, especially this year), one of the City Stuntz sets, and a full rack of Queer Eye. Like, 20+ copies all at $60. At least it's hyphenated, though I agree incredible is probably a translation error. My guess is it's an easter egg and the set'll be the 3 movie spider men, or something like the batman one where it's comic spidey, goblin, and venom/carnage, but hey, maybe it will be miles, peter B, and 2099 or something. I hope it's not a third harry potter series before a second marvel one. -

Exactly. Agreed that the $160 set is the gunship. We'll have to hold out hope that one of the extra set numbers (like @The Stud mentions) is the mantis. There are more according to falconfan. But you are onto something about the $200 set. My guess is that it's based on one of the later-releasing 2023 or early 2024 shows. -

But it's a lot easier to delay than to push release dates up. For example, Ant-Man 3 was moved up and Captain Marvel 2 was delayed. The captain marvel 2 set has been delayed, evidently, but we haven't even had the ant-man 3 set leak yet, implying it hasn't been moved up to before the films's February release. -

Wowee that's a list. RIP Wallet indeed. One minifigure: Emperor Palpatine from the 2016 death star. Imagine getting a DC set in 2023 that isn't a batmobile starring the geneva convention speedrunner. For christmas today I got the Daily Bugle, as well as a gag gift of the 4+ spider trike (Joke's on them, I've been collecting spideys and didn't have the 4+ miles yet). -

Solid Guesses. Could just be shrinkflated battle packs. You put the accessory pack in a box, basically. No way it's a $200 Nebbie, at least, I hope it isn't. Couldn't be done justice at that price point.
