  1. Same here. The SW thread is exploding with some choices that make some of the marvel ones downright reasonable. Buildible Chewbacca at $200, Star Wars MECHS? This does not give me much hope for the remaining superheroes sets.
  2. Beautiful. Eh, for including Grogu too if it's bigger than a standard one I'll be ok with it being $15. What? Yavin makes up for it. They tried at some point, there were prototype creatures made, but it never made it to shelves for some reason. Thoughts: mechs: ew. We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less stupid. They are objectivly worse than Microfighters, and 50% more expensive to boot. Microfighter: Meh, it's fine. Price increase sucks. They've gotta update either mando or grogu or I can't see it selling well. Swamp Speeder; This'd be the "semi battle pack" of the summer then. Guess is 41st but if it's 327th I might get a copy. Yavin: Are people overlooking how great this is? People have wanted this for literal decades. I'm very excited, especially with a 12 figure count. Chewbacca: a weird choice, but nowhere near as absurd as the mechs.
  3. But even if you want all of them, you're getting 3 copies of all of them for 3x the cost. Instead of $60 for the full set, to guarantee it you've got to find an unopened box and pay $180.
  4. Yup. There's a bit of wiggle room to say something like a system SSD, but this is about it. I'd love to get any of the rebel ships, but I feel like those are generally quite well-liked, so I've got no idea what these are. Uh oh. UCS that crashed ship in mos eisely incoming. At this point it's driving me crazy that we have all these hints and speculations, I can't wait for the names. Better or worse, I just want to know what's coming.
  5. whoah. That's... monkey's paw here, but I can't think of a single OT thing that hasn't been done yet that I wouldn't be excited to see. No offense, but this is exactly what I'm talking about. The OT Y-wing's still more well known and it's been 6+ years since the last one, but since people want rex (I do too), people would get irrationally angry if they made the OT one.
  6. @psqidexslizer I almost want to do that out of pure spite, but at the same time it's not worth the effort and I'll probably just not buy boxed cmfs.
  7. There's a ton of OT stuff we could get that would be interesting. As others have said, a Mon Cala Cruiser. A new star destroyer would be great, it's been almost a decade. For that matter, we've never had a system SSD. A lot of people seem to want Endor sets like the bunker, too. A real Ion cannon or shield generator could be great. Been forever since the last Rancor Pit, and a Vader's TIE is overdue as well. Ah. (Though this guy isn't quite official either, these are his first leaks) Interesting. Assuming this is correct (No offense but this is your first wave being leaked AFAIK, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt): The first one is probably a recent-ish remake. My guess is a downscaled falcon or something. The second is interesting, as I can't tell whether you mean that people will hate on it just because it's OT (As opposed to their republic gunship with 200000 unique clone troopers set they think they're entitled too), or specifically that it's something from multiple eras and lego chose to give it OT figures. Since sequel stuff is almost universally despised that'd imply it's something that could be prequel or OT, which is... just the Y-wing I think.
  8. The gamble lego is very intentionally making is that the people who are already invested enough to go for specific figs/try to collect them all are more likely to just buy full boxes or just buy them blind hoping for the right ones, and that the people who do that will increase sales more than the people who'll just stop buying them now that they can't get specific figs. (Like me. If there's one I really want, it'll be bricklink time)
  9. Really? Anything OT is automatically mediocrity? Actually, I think this has been known for some time, though I don't remember who said it.
  10. To be fair, that's kind of a random criteria. Like, the only $45 set we've had in the superheroes theme in the last few years was the advent calendar, and obviously smaller sets like the mechs or $20-30 sets won't have 3 exclusive figs. But looking at sets like Gargantos Showdown (2 exclusive figs), the 4+ Goblin Lighthouse set (3 exclusive figs), etc, there's definately a real chance at 2-3 exclusive figs in a $45 set, especially if they skimp on leg printing. And realistically, how many new prints are we even going to get? Flash's head and torso, a Keaton torso (assuming they don't just skip out and use the same as the one they'll use in the new batwing), and a torso and/or head for the 3rd fig. That seems pretty realistic to me.
  11. What could possibly be worse? Assumably these will be common figs, like Vader, Mando, etc, and the builds would be completely non-canon. At least the random speeders in battle packs looked like they could be from star wars, and with the action battle sets you could just take off the targets. (That said, now I'm imagining the gimmick doesn't have figures, but it'd at least have to trade-off for a canon build, or it just wouldn't even be a star wars set)
  12. TPM wave. Personally this is the movie I think works worst for lego (While I think TLJ and maybe AOTC are worse movies overall, they both have cooler ship designs in my opinion), but I tried my best to think of sets that could do well: Microfighters: Naboo Starfighter ($9.99, with less chibi engines): Naboo Pilot Sith Infiltrator ($9.99, darker colors): Darth Maul (hooded) Anakin vs Sebulba's Podracers ($19.99): Young Anakin, Sebulba, Pit Droid. Battle Packs: Battle droid attack ($14.99): 4x battle droid, 1x droid pilot, 1x battle droid commander. Builds are a STAP and 2 droidikas Republic Defenders ($14.99): 2x background jedi, 2x naboo security. The jedi have standard heads so you can swap heads/hair to make different jedi Duel: Duel on Tatooine ($19.99): Maul's speeder and a small bit of tatooine terrain with a moisture vaporator, like the 1999 set. Comes with Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn. Rescuing the Queen ($29.99): Theed Balcony above a small street build. Comes with a function to launch Obi-wan down to street level. Includes Obi-Wan, Queen Amidala, and 2x battle droid. AAT Assault ($34.99): AAT Tank (between 2015 and 2008 in size) with 2x droid pilot, Jar Jar Binks, and Captain Tarpals. Naboo Fighter vs Vulture droid ($59.99): An N-1 in scale to the 2021 X-wing and a vulture droid. Comes with 1x naboo pilot, Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, 2x security battle droids, and Nute Gunray. Retaking the Palace ($69.99): Flash speeder and a build for the naboo hanger/throne room. Comes with Padme (battle dress), Captain Panaka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, 2x naboo guard, 3x battle droids, and 1x droidika. Podrace ($109.99): Anakin, Sebulba, and Gasgano's Podracers (~300-400 pcs each). Comes with Young Anakin, Sebulba, Gasgano, Kitster, Qui-Gon, Shmi Skywalker, Watto, and 3x Pit droid. UCS/MBS: UCS Naboo Starfighter ($199.99): Comes with Young Anakin (new helmet mold) and R2-D2 (with 3rd leg build) Quote sets: Meeting Maul ($69.99): Lucrehulk conference room. Comes with Nute Gunray, 2x Nemodians, and 4x battle droids. (Palpatine and Maul are prints, being holograms and all) Quote is "This is my apprentice, Darth Maul." Duel of the Fates ($79.99): Two of the laser-gate doors followed by the reactor area. Comes with Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Darth Maul. Quote is "Promise me you will train the boy"
  13. MODOK is an incredibly stupid character (Look, I say that as a guy who loves transformers, and I think that franchise is also incredibly stupid), and leaning into it made him actually entertaining. Me and some friends went to see the movie and while none of us thought it was good (though most of my friends aren't as into the comics so I had to explain why the whole Kang thing was so annoying to me), everyone loved MODOK. I can literally hear people yelling across my campus. Though when MODOK is people's favorite part of your phase-defining, big-bad introducing, stakes-claiming event, you've done something very wrong. Set wise, like I said, I think the movie's reception may work out in favor for the set, since it's not quantumania specific. Maybe not if it had had Kang, but I can tell you I definately don't care/want a Cassie fig. And that marvels set's really getting hit, huh? It's gonna release what, almost a year from it's original date?
  14. Thanks. Consistently one of my favorite people-who-has-leaks-sometimes for how you go about giving the info out. (Not that anyone's entitled to hearing the leaks, but like you say, repeatedly telling people you have info but won't give it out is a little annoying) My thoughts on the info: 1. Meh, fine. Honestly, you know what? Good. We've gotten quite a few big prequel sets recently. Be nice to get some big OT ones. 2. Mechs, then? That's... that's... I mean, what the hell. This is more baffling than vidyo was. Do kids want these? 3. I think we already knew this, but yeah, it sucks. Inflation's a b***h 4. Huh. Going off them not being PT, I have a slim hope for some new OT capital ships, though given people's general info about the wave I feel like it won't be.
  15. No, we knew about the suit for quite a long time. They didn't make a new mold because they didn't want to spend the budget on a new mold. Maybe they will for the next one. I suppose, but I doubt it.
  16. To be fair we usually know the summer list before the May UCS. But my money's still on the AT-ST. Exactly. Though it might be tough since the green is a print too, you'd have to be careful with that eraser/nail polish remover/whatever you happen to use. I like to stay purist so I'll probably just keep the christmas bits on, it's like the Mando Scarf where it's nothing too christmas-specific and eye catching, just a little pattern on his hood.
  17. Agreed. Though I'm still only going to let myself expect Barry 1 and Keaton with a re-used type 2 cowl. Barry 2 would be really nice, though. It would, but I really doubt it. It'd still count as a new mold for them, and I can't see them doing that if they wouldn't make a Battinson mold.
  18. This is definately gonna be off-topic by the end of my rant but I totally agree. We get wave after wave of marvel sets with, in the past few years, very little for DC. Flash isn't out yet, but comparing the test reactions and plot leak from that to quantumania (which I just saw. It's what I imagine being on drugs to feel like. Jonathan Majors was the only good thing from it, too.), DC's got a chance to retake some ground. It feels like the two franchises are about to get back to at least equal footing popularity wise, and it'd be nice to get some DC sets back. Weirdly, despite liking quantumania MUCH less than I thought I would, I kinda like the set more after this, since it's not exclusively for quantumania and works as just a big ant-man. I might actually get it on sale at some point, maybe modding the helmet, and throw him in my avengers display.
  19. It's shrinkflation. Honestly, if the wave released a year or two ago, I'd say we'd see these additions: $10 set: Cosmo mold added. $35 set: High Evolutionary and Lylla using the otter mold from friends $99 set: Groot and/or High evolutionary added as a repeat.
  20. Thank you! I tried to make the bat-vehicles somewhat interesting, since they're all we tend to get. Thank you! Shhhh.... all I'll say is that Jason does not appear in the next wave... That could be cool, but I'd prefer to do a hero mech for how the overall wave is planned.
  21. Monkey's paw, man. You say this, and next year we just straight up won't get standard system marvel sets like we did with DC last year. Look, the GOTG wave is a little rough, but it's nothing terrible (Honestly I think the main issue is that $35 set. If they'd just made a smaller build or something and thrown Cosmo and the High Evolutionary in there, I think people would be generally satisfied with the wave. My guess for the lack of High Evolutionary is that he's not gonna be a beat-em-up villain, but we didn't get any of his men either, so I guess we'll see.
  22. I'm eagerly awaiting this list. I personally won't be too disappointed if it's got nothing for me (Rivendell along blows out my budget for the year, and I'd still like to get the throne room diorama and an indiana jones set or two), but of course it's always better to have better sets. At this point I just really want to know what the gimmick is. A new, cool gimmick could revitalize the current lack of small sets, but something stupid like action battles or mechs would be really rough.
  23. Yeah, I doubt Quantumania gets a set later on, based on the reception it's getting. Kind of turned out fortuitously for lego that their quantumania set is only loosely based on the film and could work as any generic ant-man/avengers set, though clearly it's not like they predicted the movie would flop. Don't do that. Don't give me hope.
  24. It'll be the standard cowl, since the cowl/cape part can't fit in a system batmobile unless you make a hilariously oversized driver's seat area. The torso can't be the burton one either as a result, but I wouldn't rule out them re-using a TLBM torso with black belt piece or something.
  25. Uh.... what. Ok, look. The minfig selection is kind of annoying, sure. No high evolutionary is wild, and groot is a very lame attempt to recreate his look in gotg 3. Also, no cosmo? Really? On the bright side, the Bowie and other ship look fine... but... WHAT? What is that $10 set, there's nothing there. It's some grey walls with stickers and two figs. That's laughable.
