  1. I suppose that's possible, but I also think the STAP works: STAP being the one Renown is talking about. Main build being a CIS transport. Clones getting the non-canon speeder from the 2007 pack and/or a small turret. Has a substantial CIS build, most can't "take flight" in the way an ARC-170 can, as people were suggesting before Renown's comment, and the CIS builds are mostly canon where the clone ones aren't. This also fits with the rumor that it's 4 clones, multiple B1s, and multiple B2s, since it's like a mashup of the 2007 battle packs that started it all. Now the clones themselves are apparently more like the 2008 pack, but if the grogu's escape set has shock troopers, that might explain why they changed it. Renown said one of the three is correct.
  2. If the set includes a cloth kama and pauldron for a generic commander, I will spend an unsafe amount of my savings on this to A: obtain kamas for my officers and commanders who currently have printed ones and B: show that we want kamas. As a side note, I loved the 2008 pack. The first sets I remember owning were that pack and the hoth rebels 2008 pack. Lots of "misunderstanding" battles that always ended with Zev (who I thought was pilot luke) figuring out the clones were good guys and not stormtroopers, until I got more sets with villain characters.
  3. 223 pieces and $50 would imply a bigfig. I know stuff like the Hoopty is out here, but I have to hope that it's not going to be the norm.
  4. 2024 1HY sets via FalconFan1414: 75375 Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon $79.99 (921 pcs, 18+) 75376 Midi-Scale Tantive IV $79.99 (654 pcs, 18+) 75378 Grogu's Escape $29.99 (based on the scene where Kelleran Beq rescues Grogu) Unknown $29.99 set (According to Renown, this is a "super battle pack" with both clones and droids. Multiple builds are included, mainly "mostly canon" separatist builds, though both factions are represented) 75379 buildable R2-D2 $99.99 (1050 pcs, 18+) 75380 Podrace diorama $69.99 (718 pcs, 18+) 75381 buildible droidika $69.99 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV (502 pcs, NOT an 18+ diorama)
  5. It's certainly possible. Thrawn's inclusion in the series has been heavily marketed, and while I'm not 100% sure if they've officially released images of him from the front, they've 100% sent them out to companies they work with (A SW mobile game, Galaxy of Heroes, updated their Thrawn appearance a few days ago to look more like his live action appearance.)
  6. I appreciate you putting this in a spoiler, but I don't think you need to do that. It'd be more about the specific contents of the scenes using that narrative device, not simply that the show uses such a device. That said, no. Reason being: That's fair, though I will say the reason it works for the P1s and not for the P2s is of where the holes are on the helmets in-universe, or at least on the previous lego helmets. If you look at a non-hole and hole p2 helmet side by side, it becomes pretty clear that a visor where the holes are on the non-hole helmet would be very noticeably too low. Though I will say, you've definately changed my mind from "the hole helmets are objectively better" to more of a personal preference thing. I like the customizability of having all the helmets have holes, but I can totally get why you'd want everyone who doesn't need a visor or antenna to not have them.
  7. As part of my MOC wave of sets, I made an ARC-170 starfighter. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, so I recolored it for an imperial version to post here before I show the whole wave. It's meant to look similar to an official set, meaning it's not studless or exceedingly unstable, and has play features. In this case, spring shooters, flick missiles, and a storage compartment I didn't show off. The winglets are held against the central wings by rubber bands, with a gear function to open them, similar to the 2015 era X-wings. It was shocking to me how inaccurate the 2010 ARC-170 was, but building this I started to understand. It's hard to make the winglets stable with the holes in the middle, and at the same time it's easier to leave a hole in the middle of the central wings for the turning function than it is to put the greebling in. (Though the greebling's harder to see with this color scheme anyway)
  8. Totally agree. I'd even add on that it's not even really a possessed version of a hero. It's a hero going insane and killing people in the body of her variant, who happens to look exactly like her because... variants look the same for everybody but spider-man? (unrelated but annoying to me. CAST. DIFFERENT. ACTORS.) You can't hold Lloyd responsible for what he did as Morrow (which since it was a kids show was... attacking ninjas with ninja powers, not turning half-assed adaptions of beloved characters into spaghetti and snapping necks of elderly telepaths), but you can 100% hold wanda responsible for what she did while moonwalking as other wanda or whatever it's called. Not to minimod, but I don't think we need to dogpile this guy, it's not even related to lego or marvel. (Also, maybe America's able to recognize that the word imperial doesn't mean the imperial system actively promotes monarchy)
  9. Ounces aren't precise enough for this. Not that grams are a sure thing either. Someone else pointed out factory defects in box batches could mess the whole thing up given how precise you have to try to be. Let's run through these real quick, since I'm currently trying to figure out lego's maturity rating system (Why won't they let me make a Suits ideas set when they've done all the sitcoms?) Duel of the fates: Man is stabbed with lightsaber. I don't really know why you picked this one, as people get stabbed in like half the movies lego's made sets for. Anakin Vs Obi-Wan: Man has his limbs removed (though IIRC we don't actually see it in frame) and comically bursts into flames. Definately a rougher one, but it's also a very iconic scene in the saga, and honestly it's pretty cartoony in how dumb anakin looks. Palpatine's arrest: a few dudes get stabbed, palpatine gets wrinkly, mace loses an arm to a lightsaber and gets tossed out a window. Again, really not bad, all things considered. Grievous vs obi wan: A cyborg that doesn't look remotely human gets shot a few times and bursts into flames. I'm pretty sure bionicles regularly get killed more graphically in lego's own lore. There are other examples we could use: The temple of doom scene (though lego cancelled the newest one), Superman snapping Zod's neck (though lego didn't make a set on that specific scene, and since the sets came out before the movie they probably didn't even know), etc, but a pattern emerges: Lego only makes sets based on more graphic stuff nowadays if the scene is an iconic part of a super famous movie. Even then, they've actively cancelled a set based on especially rough content. Multiverse of Madness is NOT a very famous, well-liked, or financially successful MCU movie, so I doubt lego thinks it's worth the risk.
  10. We've been having this conversation over in the discussion thread, but the cliffnotes are as follows: Lego only has x amount of set slots per year, and the amount they can cover from each film decreases rapidly as the amount of new content keeps being pumped out. Having Boba and Jango's slave ones on shelves at the same time would tank the sales of both, since they're pretty much just recolors. Between the two, boba's is far more well-known and would therefore sell much better. Due to the aforementioned crunch of new content, by the time there's a slot open for a slave 1, boba's usually has been retired for some time (this is discounting the 2019-2021 gap brought on by mando S2's inclusion of slave one). This means that Boba's is almost always going to be the variant produced.
  11. I just realized this also would only have required one new mold, and given that you'd only have to do printing on one part (and no back printing), this would have been cheaper than making him a fig with a specialized head mold, which is a little annoying as I too would have preferred it and maybe the rest of the budget could have gone into sabine's arms.
  12. The kamas is an issue to me, as the prints look so much worse and it's an example of something we had that was taken away, but I still don't get the helmet holes gripe, much less as it being worse than the lack of a kama. The holes are higher up to allow for the visors and kamas to fit on p2 troopers, and the customization is more than worth the little holes IMO. As opposed to the kamas being printed, which not only looks worse but discourages customization... Unlike the other licensed themes, it's anyone's guess beyond "latter half of 2023" greebling on the flat grey panels? You've chosen a side of heretics.
  13. This is the best news in the history of news, maybe ever. If it's true, that is. IIRC early CMFs had this same thing, and they fixed it by series 2 or 3. I can't imagine they'd go back to making the same mistake with boxes, but maybe whoever's working on these is trying to help us out a bit.
  14. The mechs are intended to be a replacement attempt for them. If they sell poorly enough, maybe we'll see microfighters in 2HY 2024/1HY 2025 instead of a second mech wave. Hopefully not at $16 though, that's absurd.
  15. Yup. I might actually bring an electronic scale into a lego store to buy Moon Knight out of pure spite, but Mr. Knight and potentially the X-men are all going to be bricklink purchases.
  16. I have been CALLED OUT. I've spelled that wrong so many times my autocorrect suggest thinks I'm trying to say something else and stopped trying to fix it. That said, don't look at any older posts where I say quote. EXACTLY. I think another thing you need to remember is kids generally prefer either action oriented sets, or one getting them desirable figs (which is desirable TO KIDS, so it's people like Luke and Vader, not Dexter Jettster). So GAR/CIS ships are going to sell better than padme's diplomatic transport, or a diner. I would take a new first order troop transport over a naboo royal starship any day of the week. That said, I'd prefer the troop transport from Mando over either of them.
  17. You gotta put spaces after your commas, man. I'm old, I need to see where words start and end. As for the sets, I mean yeah, some of this stuff would be great. I think I'd just talked about wanting an ARC-170 and vulture droid a couple posts ago, and I've made the argument for an MBS pentaki more times than I can count. But as for a naboo cruiser, or a version of the mustafar duel that's a massive facility, or dex's diner? No, I don't think it would do well. They might be able to get away with something at that $30-40 price point, but people who play with sets tend to enjoy the conflict, not diplomatic missions or killing unarmed politicians (at least, within playing with legos.) Lego has a limited number of set slots, and an ever-expanding amount of content. Less popular or less likely to be popular stuff is going to get pushed to the wayside for older content. What do you want to see here? The last OT system sets replaced by more prequel stuff? The GAR vehicles we're getting replaced by dex's diners and naboo starships? Yes. You cannot get it to stand up straight without fidgeting with those damn leg worm gears for forever, and the second you touch it it decides to tilt 15 degrees to the left. If the Rey film is the Mangold one, I don't think it'll happen. Lucasfilm has a track record of firing new directors after they make a subpar film, and Mangold mangled indy 5. me immediately after @Hhalcyon drops his UCS AT-AT
  18. Maybe if you go through the full 24 year lifespan of LSW, but for the past 3 years we've been getting more prequel era than origional trilogy era for sets. And like @NoOneOfImportance said, a lot of the prequel stuff just isn't that desirable to most kids (for instance, kids want republic and CIS stuff. A naboo cruiser or gungan sub won't appeal to them nearly as much as that). BLACK. ONE. This might entirely just be me as TFA and Poe's X-wing got me back into Star Wars and Lego Star Wars respectively, but I LOVE black one. I want a new system set. I want a UCS Black One. Hell, give me a microfighter. It's been 8 years.
  19. That's understandable, but personally I would much rather have battle packs than cheap sets with named characters, since like you say it'd be one or the other, not both. It's been 5-6 years since the last non-hoth imperial and rebel battle packs (being the Rogue One ones, or the Solo pack if you want to count that for the empire). I think that one had two major things going for it. The first was that some of the figures were exceedingly rare at the time, and we hadn't had 4-LOM ever. The other part, at least for me, was that it worked well as a sort of scum and villany pack, where you could switch parts around to make other trandoshan, droid, and human hunters. I think I bought 3 or 4, and had a couple trandoshan hunters, IG-88 bodies from legends, and used the dengar/4-lom parts for cybernetic hunters. Ah. I'd be down for ARFs, maybe ARCs, but I would not be a fan of getting non-canon 501st variants like airborne instead of other legions/factions, or instead of the battlefront 2 specialists we did get. And people STILL claim that lego only cares about the OT, or worse, that lego is "sabotaging" their PT sets by what, intentionally making Fox's print weird? (I want to clarify I haven't seen that particular take on this forum, just stuff like instagram and youtube) Now don't get me wrong, stuff like the lack of kamas really does annoy me. But nobody can claim that lego isn't HEAVILY focusing on clones. It's time to focus on something else. Who said anything about miniature? The 215 pieces are seperated as follows: 12 for 3 B2s, 24 for 4 B1s (with blasters), 20 for 4 clones (with blasters), 6 for the visor/antenna pack, making a total of 62 for the figures. The remaining 159 pieces are split into a 27-piece STAP, 32 piece clone bunker, a 50-pc -but system sized- MTT using absolutely massive parts, and the same for a 50 pc venator. The $30 cost is a typo, it's supposed to be $300
  20. Hello there, I'm anyone. Actually, though, I would be really annoyed if they gave us yet another 501st battle pack, and one consisting of NAMED CHARACTERS, no less. I hate when named characters show up in battle packs, so a 501st named characters pack is like a worst-case scenario for me right now. Forget getting another clone legion, I just want another FACTION for a battle pack. Stormtroopers, Endor Rebels, any FO, etc.
  21. Totally fair. They'd be a fine addition to any upcoming GAR set. ARC-170 when? Part of me wants to make this comment my signature so I can just copy/paste it whenever I see that "lego hates the prequels" garbage. I want to build up my empire, and my rebels, AND MY FIRST ORDER. I want rogue one, I want Black One, I want Exogol. I want a system Y-wing, a TIE interceptor, TIE advanced, etc. For that matter, I wouldn't mind a new vulture droid, or Tri-fighter, or ARC-170. Lego only seems to care about clones right now, and it's entirely because half the fanbase is absolutely rabid over getting clones, and then whines about all the clones we DO get. No problem. It just seems a little too specific for lego, but it is a GAR vehicle and we are running out of ones at that size, so it's always possible.
  22. 4 figs in an $80 set with ~350 pieces is disgusting. It's like the Hoopty, only worse, because I actually care about the X-men and would have bought the set had it not apparently been double the price it should be. I'm going to hold out a sliver of hope, though. The well of souls was another 4 figure set rumored to be $80 at one point that turned out to be $40. Probably only a fool's hope, but hope nonetheless.
  23. I would have been fine with unnamed variants if the 2023 packs hadn't released already, but you'd buy many a battlepack with named figures? Actually, come to think of it, I'd rather have the variants we see fully in canon on the battlefront (pun intended) than ones like airborne that we never saw in canon, or even ones that existed in much smaller numbers like the ARC Trooper. I'll give you ARF trooper though. How do we have multiple 501st AT-RTs but no 501st ARFs? I don't think we'll see it, but I respect the guess.
  24. Nonsense? The Snyder Cut was real! I loved it! But yeah, it does feel almost vindictive. Although the actual reasoning is of course just that the 501st is the most well-known legion, and therefore the one lego believes will sell the best. Nononononono, what have you done? They're gonna put fives, jesse, hardcase, and kix in the 2024 battle pack now... I wouldn't mind named characters or variants (AT-RT driver/ARF trooper, ARC trooper, airborne- which do have action figures, so they exist as much as mace's legion from the tank), but not in anything that could be remotely considered a battle pack.
  25. We've been over this, they released a 420 piece set. We know what they're smoking. From what I've heard (and I do not have anymore sources than you guys so it could have been random instagram accounts, I don't care enough to go back and check the credibility) it was a buildible sandman with minifigs of integrated suit spidey and lizard, with it unclear as to whether or not sandman was also a minifigure. I was going to say "what about the villains", but... yeah... lego doesn't do that anymore, do they? (again- 420)
