  1. Done. I really want to see a big space port from Classic Space Lego.
  2. Personally have no problem with the redesign and/or changes. Its a Pirates Bay and Lego are entitled to do what they want with it, based on their view of the hobby. manufacturing considerations etc etc. For me,..I think it looks splendid. As good as the incredible ideas set that inspired it. My only complaint (and its my subjective view) is that I would have liked a bit more structure to the buildings with more rooms etc. That would have sacrificed the ship, which is very clever, but for my tastes unnecessary and I would prefer a grander more expansive pirate ship as a separate set. On the fence with this one. As is my usual view,....bigger would have been better.
  3. I have to agree,...its a bit of a let down. Less than 1000 pieces too. Ill pass,....something like this should have a bit grandeur and this set has very little of that I'm afraid.
  4. Finally built my set. Heavy impressive beast. I agree with some of the statements from years ago in this thread,.....to many studs on the exterior. But what really surprised and disappointed me was the requirement to remove the middle roof to enable the crane to lift items in and out of the Sandcrawler. Surely a sliding roof or hatch would have been more appropriate and sensible? I know I am very late to the party on this set,...but the issue really bugged me. I don't suppose someone come up with a solution to make the set more realistic and fun play with??
  5. Actually,..on reflection I am just wondering if its more accurate to state: 'minimum effort, maximum gain'. Nice set,...happy to have in my street,...but hardly stirs the heart to excitement.
  6. Like most lads,...I wish there was a third floor to the townhouse and perhaps be another retail outlet (or as suggested a bigger bookshop with a café). But the style suits my little street and it does look "High Streetish" so I am on board. I like the idea of splitting it,...….so I'll probably match the townhouse to the Pet Shop townhouse. Its very pretty. But its not spectacular like some of the previous modular. The description of being "safe" that some members have utilised sounds pretty apt to me.
  7. OK, thanks mate. Not sure what to think of that? It would have been nice to have another shop next to it. My modular collection is restricted to three. Pet Shop, Parisian Restaurant and Assembly Square,...kinda building an old fashioned village High Street, I guess. I do like this set,...…...I would have preferred another retail outlet. At anyrate,...Ill be collecting it as the style suits my 'High Street' vision.
  8. Happy for the bookshop and the piece count. But what is the blue building supposed to be?? I note the similar the PR like outdoor veranda behind the blue building (from what I can see from the Instagram pictures) but I have no idea what the blue building is??
  9. Very cool,...and clever in the imaginings of evolutionary design for the Classic Space theme. As good as it,..and its great, Id love to see something like that applied to the Galaxy Explorer.
  10. Finally scored Sandcrawler 75059 cannot wait to build it and display it. Just one question though, is there only one sticker paper in the set. The plastic bag for the stickers was torn open. The sticker page is intact but their is only one of them.
  11. That's fab news. Hopefully they will be modular in design to add to the upcoming "Pirate bay". I love modular designs stuff with modular creator building sets and Ninjago City my favourite Lego themes that I own (and Star Wars UCS).
  12. So is their a poll on the forum asking Legomites which their favourite (top two or three) modular building sets?
  13. I bought 57059 Sand Crawler today. Thanks very much for the advice. This set is supposed to be a cracker and I would of held off if I thought there was a remote chance of a UCS Sandcrawler. Cannot wait to build and display it.
  14. Nothing from Ninjago City??
  15. I agree,...that is a fab idea,....and a heap of fun.
  16. I really like the Museum idea. It does not necessarily have to be dinosaurs (although that would be grouse).I agree,..double base plate with oodles of internal stuff with exhibits etc. Large brick count would be sweet (4000+ like Assembly Square). The subject of the Museum can be anything. Ancient History would be something that I'd be keen on. Plenty of imaginative stuff for Lego to work in creating something like that. Building it and displaying would be a hoot!!
  17. I'm thrilled with the set. But you have to remember some of us don't have the previous Pirate themed sets and/or, have only been recently collecting Lego. My first Lego Set was Apollo 11. The ship is just one part of can be a expanding Pirate Base theme that can be added too as the years role by. Nothing wrong with a bit of ambition,.....or a differing idea from a relative newby to the Hobby.
  18. That's incredible,...and very speccy indeed. That's what I am talking about,....as a partner set for the upcoming Pirate island. Just fabulous looking "Ships of the Line".
  19. This is pretty good news and I might be very interested. But,....whats the point of having a Pirate Island, without a Pirate ship? I would love to see a 3000+ piece pirate Island with a dock that can take a pirate ship. Two sets,...with two-three base plates. Yes,....a lot would be on blue pieces for the ocean but together it would look spectacular. Im not sure when the last Pirate ship was released,.....but assuming its been a while,...then a updated ship as a partner to this release would grouse indeed. Story and gameplay would be amazing. Particularly,...if it can be expanded and added too like Ninjago City.
  20. It was a hit in Australia and I really loved it. The second season in Australia was immediately approved and I think they are either filming it now or starting soon.
  21. OK,...thank you very much jdubbs.
  22. Hello. I am sure this has likely been asked before, so my apologies for bringing it up again. But I was just wondering if someone can enlighten me on the likelihood of a UCS Sandcrawler from Episode IV? I am contemplating buying the 75059 Sandcrawler (which I assume is the best so far). If lads think its very likely,...a UCS Sandcrawler will be in the offing in the short/medium term,....Ill hold off. Once again, my apologies if this has come up before. Thanks.
  23. Fabulous review and I do appreciate the effort in getting this review to the site. The build and the display qualities are whats in it for me. Not that I needed any more encouragement,.....VBBN has reinforced to me that this set is defo one I will get for my collection. It will look spectacular,...more so than the UCS Falcon I reckon,.....and I always doubted that would be beaten.
  24. Yep,...….completely agree.
