Thanks all so far for your comments and suggestions. The only problem with using arches and the like is that the spacing between the wheels is at most 1 stud wide. If I were to increase the spacing the proportions of the model get thrown way off also the inner mechanisms won't work as cleanly. So my goal is to try to figure something out that will work in this tiny amount of spacing.

I am currently working on a project that hopefully will end up on Lego Ideas at some point. However, I have run into a slight issue and am wondering if someone might have an idea or solution that would work for this. I have a series of wheels as shown in the figure. I need the wheel to be as close to the top as possible, as the wheel needs to spin when spun by a person. I also want to come as close as possible to creating a circle around the wheel to hide what is below. Creating more space between each of the wheels is not an option. So hopefully someone here can give me an idea or two on something that might work to do what I am hoping to do.

This is an interesting topic, and while I agree that the odds of Lego making any sets that depict an event associated with a modern active religion is low, I do wonder about models related to ancient religions that are not (for the most part) actively practiced. Do you think Lego would do a set based on the stories of Ancient Greece or Ancient Egypt? I know that there have been some minifigures that are at least partially based on these stories, but would the do a set say based around "Ra" and such, or maybe the gods on Mt. Olympus? But returning to the Bible topic. Some thoughts would be -- Mainly looking at the 5 books of Moses or the Old Testament Moses receiving the 10 commandments Moses breaking the tablets and the golden calf The sacrifice of Isaac . Cain and Able -- (might be too graphic) Joseph and Pharaoh Now slightly outside of the Bible would be the siege of Masada

I don't think we will see a BLM set at all. That type of set is overtly political and also has a limited reach. BLM is a response to a very specific issue that is unique to mostly North America and the USA in particular where people of African decent have been and are targeted simply because of the color of their skin. It stems from years of slavery, reconstruction, Jim Crow laws, segregation, and government responses to the Civil Rights legislation that has occurred over the past 200+ years. It primarily is focused on the conception that law enforcement and the judicial system have it in for black people. Yes it does focus on some of the other historical issues associated with them as well. For example the push for reparations because of slavery. However, at the end of the day, a BLM set would be an absolute hot potato for TLG. A donation to a charity is one thing (and done by many companies around the world to show support for the cause) an actual product is a completely different thing. In contrast to a BLM set, this set relates to something that transcends race, religion, or national origin. It has meaning to people across the world who can relate to it in their own way. It doesn't matter if you live in Thailand, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Denmark, or Mexico, if you associate yourself as LGBT+, know someone who is, or simply believes that everyone is free to be whomever they want to be then this set is built for you. I applaud TLG for doing this and don't see it as a political statement at all. Now this may be my very old memory coming out from something i read in the early 80's, but I seem to recall when Lego introduced the first figures and then minifigures that they intentionally chose yellow for head and hands, because no human was actually yellow. In that way a child anywhere in the world could play with the toy and pretend the people are just like him/her. If they had chosen colors that matched individual skin tones, they felt that the figures would no longer be inclusive. In a sense this was an ideological decision not to offend any culture.

I think that there are so many different ways to look at this set and I feel that this set is not so much a pride set but a set celebrating humanity as a whole. The name of the set "Everyone is Awesome" is about including everyone. So what i feel that Lego is doing is saying we don't care who you are, or where you come from: we want you to enjoy our products. I think a BLM set won't be coming out from TLG ever. The donation is one thing, a set is another thing. Living in Minnesota and being around the BLM movement for awhile have shown me that what this movement is about is dealing with a systemic issue that is mostly an issue within the US as a result of both our history as a slave nation and segregation and legalized discrimination, and primarily focused on policing. BLM is not a world wide issue in the same way that LGBT+ is truly world wide. Further one is about celebrating who one is and the other is about attempting to right a history of wrongs. I am not a member of the LGBT+ community, though I do have friends and family who are. I come from an ethnic minority, but am lucky in that I don't appear to look like a member. It has prevented me from being subjected to the levels of discrimination and violence that my ancestors have been subjected to. Though I haven't been immune to them. Regardless, this new set celebrates humanity, and I as a human feel celebrated by this set. And as Luke Bryan sang: I believe you love who you love, Ain't nothing you should ever be ashamed of, I believe this world ain't half as bad as it looks, I believe most people are good

Now that would be interesting. Or maybe they would do a series with the ultra rare minifigures. So all of us who didn't get a Mr. Gold or the policeman could have a shot at them.

I have to agree it is tough to get folks to support a project on your own. I am hoping that I will at least break 100 this week. And I realized that adding some photos to this thread might help get folks to actually go over and support it. So here we go with the photos.

[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
MSY-MSP replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
My personal opinion on the new plates is mixed. They definitely allow me to keep my display area smaller and cleaner. And I agree they do offer a decent amount of flexibility in layout. However, what is missing from them is the ability to make curves in the road. Not all roads are straight. Also my girls love using them over the base plates as they can use them with all of their friends stuff and have the roads go over the pile of blankets in their rooms. -
Hi all. Hopefully, I am posting this in the correct forum. If not please move it where it should go. After many various ideas that I have worked on, I finally submitted my first idea for a product on LEGO Ideas. Hopefully, it will make it to 10000, but honestly I would be just as happy with it breaking 100 (well not really, but you get the point). Anyway, I think this would be a fun, exciting, and challenging product to both build and play with regardless of your age. Here is the link to it on LEGO IDEAS. LEGO IDEAS - The Wave Puzzle Box Also I am open to any suggestions that might help make it better. Thanks so much for looking at it, and hopefully you all can support it as well.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
MSY-MSP replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The other place to look around here in Rochester is the ABC Toy as well. Great place to find some older sets as well. Though they tend to be a bit pricey as in $5.99 for the blind bags. I only tend to buy blind bags from them when I am looking for 1 or 2 very specific characters or my kids steal one of the figures off my wall and I have to replace it and the series is retired or impossible to find elsewhere. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
MSY-MSP replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well at least here in Rochester Minnesota there doesn't appear to be a significant delay on the releases. Both of our Targets and Walmarts seem to have a decent number of the blind bags. Based on my looking there were many of them at the register lines including the self checkout lines (which I hadn't seen Lego there before). Our Barnes and Noble had at least one box as well as Scheels (yes a sporting goods store has Lego blind bags). "no knock" warrants still require the police to show the probable cause for the search and get a warrant. The "no knock" part simply means they can just barge right in without stopping at the door. In a regular warrant, all they have to do is knock and say "Police, we have a warrant, open the door." How long they wait after doing this and how loud they shout is open to interpretation. I know several police and former police officers that would lightly knock on the door and not fully yell on some of their warrants, and then just break the door down. The execution of a warrant here in the US is sometimes quite dangerous, and if you put up any resistance to them and they break something while you are resisting they don't have to compensate you for it. Also just an aside, the warrant has to say what they are looking for during the search. They can only look for those things in places where that item could reasonably be located. So if they are looking for a person, they cannot look in drawers as a person cannot fit in a drawer. A closet they could look in, but not in the pockets of the coats that are in there. -
Icons Landmark Buildings - Rumours and Discussion
MSY-MSP replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That would make a lot of sense to go with an American stadium. I had to sit and think of some iconic stadiums that might make a good set. In addition to the aforementioned Fenway, the ones that crossed my mind were: Rose Bowl -- though that might be too close in design to Old Trafford. ATT Stadium -- Just because the stadium is so well known Skydome -- First Retractable roof stadium which could make for an interesting build and display. University of Phoenix Stadium -- the field that moves in and out of the stadium They could also do a regular dome stadium like US Bank Stadium and have the roof come off so you can see the field.- 259 replies

Hi All, I recently decided to come out of the lurking mode and formally start posting on this board. As a child I always into my Lego, and thank god still have my original sets and instructions think yellow castle. I have gotten into and out of Lego several times over the years. It usually was because other things started taking over. About 7 years ago when I had my first child I got back into Lego again, and my bank account hates me for it. I spend a good deal of time helping my girls build their sets. They are 7 and 5 and absolutely love their Lego, but sometimes when i see their play area it looks like a minidoll massacre occurred there. It is fun to see them grow with the sets and now are really starting to come up with their own ideas. In the real world I have an engineering degree and a law degree and use them to write patent applications for a large company. And if you are curious about the screen name it tells the story of my move when i first started practicing law. I look forward to learning a lot here and to share some of my creations when I finally get them to where i am happy with them.

At the risk of taking this way off topic, salvage rights are rights granted by the owner to a salvage company to recover a vessel. If no one has been granted the salvage rights then any salvage company can attempt to salvage the vessel. Once salvaged they can attempt to claim a set value of the vessel from the owner as payment for the salvage. The owner then either pays them 50% of the value of the recovery, or abandons the vessel to the salver. Granting rights to a salvage company usually ends up saving the owner a lot of money vs letting the law of the sea take effect. In the case of the Titanic ownership transferred from the JP Morgan group to the insurance companies as part of the insurance settlement. In this way the insurance companies then have the ability to control the salvage rights and the ability to recover anything of value to offset their monetary losses due to the insurance payout. I would need to do some digging but I don't believe the insurance companies bothered with granting salvage rights to any company as they knew at the time it was technically impossible to salvage anything from the ship given the depth of the water. Back on topic, my daughter keeps asking me when can we go buy it. I am not sure I will be able to handle months of constant nagging.

Technically, it is still owned. Just not by White Star Lines or its successor Carnival Cruise Line. Who it turns out never owned the ship in the first place. I was owned by J.P. Morgan and some other investors. It is now owned by a bunch of insurance companies who have for all intents and purposes abandoned it. On a side note Carnival Cruise Line also owned the Costa Concordia. Now with respect to the set, I am going to have to buy two of them. My 7 year old daughter is obsessed with the Titanic and I am a Naval Architect. When i told her about the possibility of this set this morning she basically squealed and said I had to buy it for her. And the timing was sort of coincidental as well. Last night she and her sister were playing with their Lego and they had made a "Titanic" out of blocks and Lego. This morning I come downstairs and there are a ton of minidolls and minifigs laying on the floor with some of them in "lifeboats". She told me the ones that were not in the lifeboats were dead and floating in the water.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MSY-MSP replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I had this happen with the Disney 2 CMF series. I bought a sealed box, and it didn't have any of the Dale figures. It did however, have 8 Chip figures. The rest of the set had the correct distribution of the characters. The series 21 box that I found sealed had 3 complete sets, but two of the figures ended up being under the rest of the figures. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MSY-MSP replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have to say following this thread for a little while (and not posting much) I am glad the 3rd series is a Marvel series. I never was a Nintendo person so the Super Mario has no appeal to me. There are so many different directions that Lego can go with the characters that they choose especially given the size and strength of both the MCU and Marvel comics. This series has the potential to be several series and still not even cover the tip of the iceberg in terms of characters. Given the shear number of characters I cannot see this set being less than 16 figures. More likely this series could be either 18 or 20 figures. This would allow for either 3 or 2 complete sets in a box depending on if they are the 36 figure boxes or the 60 figure box. I hope they do a mix of well known characters and some less familiar ones. If they do I wonder if we will get a Howard the Duck figure? -

Ok, Just got through the whole box. Using the feel method, which on this set is super easy as each of the figures has completely unique accessories so there is no it could be this one or this one guessing or further feeling required. First things first. The box actually had 36 figures in it not 34, two were hiding on the bottom. Second the box contained 3 complete sets. LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
MSY-MSP replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, my very first post on Eurobricks. I just stumbled upon a completely unopened box of the series 21 minifigures at the local Kohls. (well not completely unopened, the clerk was just opening it when I got there.) So I could not resist and bought the box right then and there. I have attached a photo of the box. Once i get through the box i will give you all a distribution on the box as well as a location for each from this box. However, the one thing I have already noticed is that there are 34 blind bags in this box.
